So Federal's idea is now to charge several hundred dollars a month to receive ammo as a subscription service? Because that won't hurt the amount of ammo available in retail and direct. How is this not going to affect the amount of ammo they produce and who they prioritize shipping to. Guess if you want to get 115 9mm ball you'll now have to subscribe to federal and get locked in for a year. Otherwise sit back and just hope that your local store gets 1-5 boxes a month.
And Federal cannot claim that its hurting for money, they just bumped all their prices by 15-25% this year.

I recently started toying with the idea of having a 300PRC built. I talked to a rifle builder that is ball parking $7000 for a build on something like an AI chassis. Really I'm just trying to reality check myself and see if that is a reasonable price for a custom build or if anyone has had something done and thinks that price is way too high (or even not high enough for great quality). The last rifle I had custom work done was a Remington 700 338LM that I replaced everything except the action and bolt. That rifle with chassis was probably around $4k (not including optic/bipod) from buying the rifle, chassis and having the builder replace the barrel, brake, recoil lug, bedding chassis, cerakote etc. Any opinions are appreciated or even recommendations for a great builder.

So this picture is kinda graphic. I was going to post in the semi auto forum, but I figured you fellas lurking here might have a better idea of what happened. Shot this whitetail buck about 70 yards away with a 6.5 grendel, using Hornady American Gunner 123gr BTHP. Straight on shot to the chest. The entrance is larger than a soft ball. when I was processing it, the bullet was right under the skin in its hind end. There is literally no expansion. The bullet is just missing the tip and it's kinda flattened. What happened?

I’m thinking about getting my dad a snowblower for Christmas. He lives in the southern part of PA averages about 30” of snow per year. He’s got a decent sized driveway and a lot of sidewalk.

Anybody have any recommendations? Looking for a 2 stage true self propelled unit 26-30” wide. Want to stay at or about $1000-$1200 bucks. Any brands to stay away from?

The two unit waiting on parts are 2 battery type, one has a small laser spot on the very outside edge, the other is quite clean. Ocular parts are on the way, I'll update here when they arrive.

Looking to whittle up a defensive 9mm load, home protection for a handgun. I'll be using Hornady XTP 124 grain bullets, mixed brass, CCI small pistol primers. The handgun in question is a Beretta LTT Elite, 5.2 something inch threaded barrel that'll eventually have a silencer hanging on the end. So nothing compact.

I'd like to create a defensive round but would prefer a "normal" load, not +P or ++P. I'd be willing to stray a bit into the +P range although admittedly, I don't know what pressure +P starts at these days. I've looked at all the offerings on Hodgdon's sight and I'm just not sure where to begin. Looking at the numbers, Winchester 572 seems to be great but doing a bit of reading, they seem to tighten up on the hot end which may be in the +P or greater range and put more wear/tear on the gun and have more recoil.

Criteria
-Ball/Spherical, aka meters well
-Relatively clean burning
-Relatively quiet without a huge fireball
-Smoother recoil for faster follow-up shots.
-Not temp sensitive. We have a pretty wide swing in temps although anything below freezing is rare/short lived. Very hot summers.
-Somewhat forgiving since this'll be the first time loading pistol cartridges. I currently load .223, .308 and 300 blackout supers/subs in a number of bullet weights for each.

I'll develop a plinking load and subsonic load after I have this one nailed down although I do intend to practice with my defensive load from time to time. Thoughts? Anything I'm no considering? I have pretty good access to powder locally so I'd likely have my choice of more than a few different powders.
