Suppressors Narrowed down to 3

I just bought a dnt thermnight 335, and probably going with a patriot arms 223, for a dedicated night rig. Try to stay in it cheapish.

Next will be suppressor, got 3 in mind. Will be on either of my ar223s or 6.5cm bolt gun, and a 6cm once it's done. Eventually I will buy more suppressors, but for the time being just getting one of these, this is also my first suppressor.

Jolene s, cheapest of the bunch, good reviews and feedback

Enticer s, next highest, pew science seems to really like it

Abel theorem s, highest, sounds like a great company, from what I have read on here, and I can get a vented end cap, to make it more versatile between gas and bolt gun.

NATO

Is anyone else thinking in light of the last few days events that the US better make a hasty exit from NATO? Anyone can see that Zelensky is gonna try to goad Putin into attacking one NATO country and then that will trigger a response from us. Russia has attacked a UK cargo ship carrying weapons to Ukraine so its only a matter of time this escalates which is just what that little imp Zelennsky is hoping since he is almost out of bodies to throw out there.

Even in a state that has done away with qualified immunity they are still to fucking stupid to match numbers before a swat raid - o and then of course they lied about it in their reports cause they assumed no one would ever watch the video.
It is a miracle that no one was unalived- bunch of guys with sub guns to fucking stupid to match 3 or 4 numbers could have easily dusted everyone claiming they were afraid of old lady and little girls.

This was in 2023 - they lied and hide evidence effectively enough to kee this buried for almost 2 years .

About to purchase weapon mounted NV. Opinions please

I can’t justify anymore firearms so it’s time to move on. I much prefer LR /prone shooting and really have no interest in helmet mounted NV. I wanted a device that could AT LEAST stand up to 338 Lapua, but 50BMG is preferred. I really liked the E3 Harris CNVD LR, but it’s only rated to 308. I found that the Eotech ClipNV LR is not only good to 20x mag, but also 50 cal rated. Anyone know of a better (maybe even better priced unit) or a reason I should not go with this unit? Price is not a huge concern. This is a buy once cry once purchase. Also I would like to be able to shoot as far as possible. Would adding a MAWL extend its range? This will see use primarily on my MRAD, Barrett M82, and 18” 6.5 Grendel. It will be a couple months (at least I’m trying to wait at least that long) before I purchase this to gather as much info as possible. I appreciate any insight!

Hearing protection active muffs in 2025

So I've read a few of the threads over the years and the somewhat relevant recent ones were from end of 2023.

Went to the range today after a tough day at work and realized I couldn't find my walker razor slim active electronic muffs. Also couldn't find the wife's purple Howard leight electronics either. Had to resort to foamies.

I mostly shoot suppressed. Generally only active muffs or if I double up I use orange rolled foamies cause my dad taught me right. My good outdoor range closed so I have been having to go indoors more often.

Been thinking of upgrading from the walkers for a couple of years. Want to stick with active muffs. Don't want anything too thick either. Do not use a helmet but it would also be nice to have recommendations for ones that can be switched to work with some form of hard hat use when I do storm chainsaw cleanup work. Do not need mic or comms. I've got amateur radio for that.

What are the worthwhile upgrades at different price points? Where do you recommend to get them? I don't get mil/Le discounts.

Edit: I wear prescription glasses. Currently Oakley barrelhouse.

Has anyone ever had out of spec QD sockets on an AI rifle before?

I slung up my AT and was heading up the stairs when the QD swivel detached and the rifle slid off my shoulder....oh joy.

Puzzled I engaged it again and gave it a tug only to have it come out again.

I figured I could have an out of spec swivel so I grabbed another (I only buy USA made swivels) and it does the same damn thing. It happens with the sockets on both sides of the chassis towards the muzzle, however, the otheer sockets on this rifle and my other AT are all fine. I tested at least half a dozen QD swivels with the same results.

I've always hated QD sockets and this is why. This type of thing didn't happen with HK style swivels of the AE/AW series.

I guess I'll see if MHSA or AINA can get me replacements, however, I'm not sure how that'll go.

Firearms Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 National Match (reduced and trades added)

For sale is a pre-64 (1950) Winchester model 70 National Match .30-06. It has the correct Lyman sights, 48WH rear and 77R front. It's a very nice rifle with a bright bore. The stock has been varnished and there are two small screw holes in the tip of the forend that have been filled, probably for a nameplate. Other than that a very nice looking and complete pre-64 National Match rifle.

$3750

May consider full or partial trades for interesting stuff I don't already have like:
S&W 952
Sig P210 target or P240
Quality optics
Vudoo or Rim-X
A new MOPAR big block TCI 727 trans and converter
Obermeyer barrel blanks
Fast twist .338 barrel
Manners stock
AI chassis

Interesting GenZ in SEAL team discussion

The topic of GenZ giving us some hope has popped up a few times around here. Many of us have shared examples of seeing some good things in this generation as they are showing themselves to be a harder working and more conservative generation when compared to millenials.

This clip from Shawn Ryan show is worth a watch if you want to hear something cool that expands on the generational topic.
