The MDT bottom metal has a very nice adjustable mag catch, too, FWIW (same as the ACC Elite chassis's mag catch).

Overall, I prefer the feel of stocks. Unfortunately, I have a fat face. The Samson was just too wide for my face, even with the cheekpiece pushed all the way to the side. I had a lot of difficulty getting square behind the rifle, as a result. Switch to ACC Elite, and problem completely solved. My Samson was gorgeous - Dark Distressed w/ brass. The nice thing is, both companies have fantastic customer support - and with the Samson, you have more options for balance and weight vs. earlier Foundation stocks. John Kyle and crew did a great job with it. I'd still be running it, if it weren't for fitment issues vs. my body.

Yes, of course it allows access when the Kestrel is connected.

The point is, it used to not be required and I'd build profiles while sitting in my recliner watching The Office and drinking may favorite single malt scotch. Now I have to get my butt up and go all the way to the garage and dig my Kestrel 5700 Elite out of the box of shooting-stuff-n-things, and walk all the way back to my recliner. Just waaay too much effort involved.
