now shoot them
Why wasn't someone manning that damned turret?
Shouldn't have been any arrests.
Unalive them.
Mount their heads on top of the fence as a notice to future invaders.
Throw the remainder back on the other side of the fence.
Weld the hole back up.

Not sure if anyone here is old enough to remember this . . .

.... but there should be a modern day equivalent.

Which thing made the biggest difference?

For me after getting more experience the improvements become smaller(and more expensive) in nature. It can be different things for different cartridges. For my 300 WM just switching to Lapua brass made a noticeable difference. Sometimes It is a surprise. Imperial Sizing Wax made an instant improvement for sizing and shoulder bump. The more you shoot the better everything gets.

Your PVA prefit experience

Did you weigh that 20” spiral fluted barrel before mounting it? Looks like a perfect size for a suppressed set up. What can is that?

I did, its actually 18" and weighs 38.5 oz on my scale. The can is a Thunderbeast Ultra 7.

I think its great hunting profile. To compare, I took off an unfluted 18" Prefered Barrel Blanks #2 Sporter in 6.5 CM that weighed in at 46.4 oz. So in the barrel swap I saved about 8 oz for the same length barrel in a smaller caliber.

223 freebore - Factory ammo jump

Copy that and thanks for the data. Yep I understand its a long jump to the rifling, just want to know if people who have this setup get good groups out of their factory ammo 👍. Seems like they should so long as everything is square and true and the bullets like to jump.

My .223 Wylde shoots the factory 77gr Sierra load into a half-minute (5 shots), which is amazing since the ES and SD of that ammo sucks. I figure that the jump is a good .160"+ since I think it is loaded to something like 2.235 OAL.

223 freebore - Factory ammo jump

.223 Wylde has .062 freebore, and that will get you around 2.400 OAL" before you end up running into the lands with a SMK...so you'll be jumping a ton. I'm at 2.400" (I'll have to verify by looking at my posts in the .223 load thread, but I'm only jumping .025-.030") with a 75gr ELD-M in a .223 Wylde chamber.

.100 - .125 is more suited for bullets in the 80+gr range. Fortunately the SMK likes to jump.

The AR15 Picture Thread

Really pleased with how this 11.5 do-all is evolving. Thinking about having the barrel dimpled and swapping the can out for a B&T Print XH to drop weight out of the front end.

I still need to see some more detailed information to see if there's any merit to this or not (though it does make sense), but I've been reading that dimpling barrels that have already been finished can dramatically weaken them. I know fluting has been a thing for a long time but I'd venture to guess that it's been on barrels with a much lower demand than a short AR. I think they look fantastic so I hope that's not the case as I've heavily considered it for my 14.5" rifle.

Looking for the FL peeps again

Florida sucks for shit like that, real bad.
I suggest 15 to 20 years behind the rest of the US.
When I first got here I'd go to different welding supply shops looking for things I've bought in California or Chicago areas and they would look at me like an alien.
If you are on vacation I wouldn't bother, you'll be waisting your time. Even if someone sex oh man, you gotta check out this store, you'd be a fool to waste your vacation time.
Enjoy yourself in the water and save talking about tools for when you're not in inbred Kissimmee area
