Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

I almost had that experience on a medic van parked on the drop zone. I had to pull my knees into my chest as I slid across the roof.
I had an LT land on an FLA, back when it was a M151, with a canvas and wood frame canopy. Crash. He missed mine but hit the next one. There was an NCO on the ground screaming at him to slip away, but he froze, staring at his upcoming ing doom. Broken femur, broken left arm. Plus extricating him from the tangled mess. I see a lot of people with cantilevered mounts in these rifles. It looks like you’d almost never need them since the upper receiver has a few extra pic rails. Has anyone actually found that they needed a cantilevered mount?

Also, when swapping out for an ambi lower…what has everyone been using? It only seems to go onto one of the 4 I’ve tried putting it on…I had heard it’s a tight fit but am still surprised how tight it actually is.
Mine didn’t fit on any of lowers until I put it on an older spikes lower I have that’s like 20 years old. I was told they are made that way so you can “fit” them to your lower.

Is my custom 457 Barrel a dud?

I agree that a barrel might not like one lot of ammo vs another. But to go through lot testing with 10 lots of Eley Tenex and have it shoot in the 20mms is just crazy.

Especially when you're talking about a custom barrel. If this was the factory sporter barrel on the CZ, sure. If this was the springfield 2020 rifle, sure.

When you say custom barrel, how custom is it? Like a $400 blank, and then a $300 chambering job? Or a $350 prefit from random barrel blank and random reamer?

Is Whidden measuring it edge to edge or c2c?

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Time to flush another libtard down the shitter.
You should crawl back under your rock after a rinse in a car wash.
leave him alone. he is here making a few bucks. the annoying thing is that Zelenskyy is paying him with some of our tax $s. there are others here on the same team. ie if they are really different people and not the same troll using different accounts.

Trump is back…the “Now What” thread

Is my start date in question? Why is it supposed? My average over the years is 0.00553 posts per day, I think I'm safe.
How do we know that you didn't hack a dormant account? How do we know that you aren't a scammer or glowie fed or foreigner posing as an American? We have seen them all. Including at least 15 pro ukraine fools that disappear never to return. Let's see how long you last.

Just something to be aware of. The steel case of the 7mm BC takes up more stress than a brass case would, reducing the pressure that the action need to withstand.

With hybrid cases, the pressure that the chamber walls have to withstand is pretty much the same as a normal brass case. Just you won't get brass flow into the bolt/ejector cut-out and primer pockets won't enlarge when running higer than normal pressure. I do believe that modern actions can safely take pressure above 65kPSI, I just do not know where the limit is.

My point being, "buyer beware". Few people I know have enough engineering knowledge to run their rifles at 80kPSI safely. Obviously.45-90 has some idea.

Personally I won't try to replicate steel case performance with hybrid cases.
Running these hybrids the cases at 80k pressure shouldn't present a failure issue from all I've read. Good barrels can take that pressure, at least for awhile. My main concern is how many firings can the barrel take and keep from ringing as it seems constantly expanding the barrel beyond it normal expansion of typical ~62k max pressure the metal may not eventually spring back as much.

Is my custom 457 Barrel a dud?

Honestly, I've spend 10k trying to build something that shoots as well as a Vudoo or Rimex. It's totally hit or miss just like buying a CZ off the rack. Some of them are hammers, and some suck, with the median ones shooting very well for the money. Whidden is a great shop, but I seriously doubt that the groups are out of tolerance, which is generally at the suck level no matter who you go to. I built the snazziest Summit ever, and it shoots about the same, and Volquartsen said it was within spec... Most won't make claims they can't achieve.

There is too much going on with a .22. Including the ammo. I have guns that shoot Ten X like crap, and shoot good with bullshit CCI. Try it with SK Match. I never found it to be great till I bought the Vudoo, but it was dead on from the first shot, and it's never eaten anything else.

There is a ton of Voo Doo magic and luck in .22s. It is almost impossible to get the level of precision required to overcome the shitty ammo with a production action/barrel. I've seen production guns that shot as well as a Vudoo or RimEx, but never owned one.

Imo, you're going to spend more money chasing it than bucking up. I know I have. I wish I would not have chased it and just bought it from the outset.

So there was a coup attempt in 2016... bet they tried again in 2020...

Can't attest that this is all right....

But can't argue against it. And if I were a betting man... I'd attest that this is all right!

What can I say... I would never bet against the depths of Clinton Corruption... and the level of Commie infiltration of our republic starting in the Hippie '60's.

Sirhr
truth, but infiltration started in the 20s or so. the useful idiots about the same time.
