This is true. I am not up to 500, but do have a pretty good sample size. What is weird about bullets and bullet performance is that just when you think you are developing a baseline you get an outlier or two that totally messes with your mind. Which of course leads you to trying new stuff, which probably isn't a bad thing. Having read thousands of words worth of bullet performance theory, I still feel comfortable with the theory that bullets will do some weird shit from time to time. Just like arrows, or probably any other projectile. I have learned to embrace the "what just happened" moments as part of the game..308 has a significantly better chance of allowing you to recover a hog from an imperfect hit than a .223 does.
Was the Surgeon designed and tested to the same standards? If it was then it should be on equal footing. Are you talking about purchasing a mil spec rifle or building a custom? Not necessarily the same thing. So not sure then what would technically
cause the Surgeon to not be able to handle these conditions you mentioned like AI - know lots of Surgeons used in the Military (RACS CSR for example) so imagine they have seen some extreme conditions
For normal cleaning I prefer Butch's Bore Shine.I mean, hoppes #9 is not that effective anymore without benzene. Kg1 for carbon and boretech eliminator for copper/carbon is master race.
I mean, hoppes #9 is not that effective anymore without benzene. Kg1 for carbon and boretech eliminator for copper/carbon is master race.I have not had much copper if any come out of the barrel during cleanings. The patches are coming out black, and surprisingly it never looks excessive to me. The bore comes out clean after just a couple wet patches, quick brush with nylon and a couple follow up patches.I am comparing that to my factory hunting rifles that i clean every 150ish rounds, they seem to require a lot more effort to clean than this barrel does.
I use Hoppes #9 for bore cleaning since that is what Weatherby recommends for my factory rifles, is it possible this new barrel is a different material that Hoppes #9 is less effective on?
I've got several of the Japan made Tasco's and they seem to be pretty good scopes. One is a 36X that I mounted on one of my Winchester 52D's that works just fine. Also have a couple of Tasco 24X made-in-Japan Tasco'sThank you sir, the rifle isn’t bad for a CMP purchase!
Scope’s an old Hakko-Tasco 8-40/56
We are eagerly waitingJust as in a few minutes ago came over to my buddies house who has a fat max or knock off of low torque range torque wrench, took the actions screws out to make sure they’re to spec (5NM - 44.25 inch/lb) and well I think that was at least A problem because they were so lose I don’t know how they weren’t walking out.
So got some more hand loads (178gr ELD-M over 40gr of Varget a very mild load), - few left over 175gr FGMM, and my buddy bought some M118 so I’ll try that too.
Cleaned the copper out of the barrel since last time as well. So I’ll update later today how it groups.

On a classical appreciation of art- I've always been a fan of Rembrandt and this was one of my favorites from him.

Ever notice that you always hear women bitching about sex with men, but you never hear gay dudes doing it? Obviously women are the problem not dudes.
Name one time you’ve heard anyone on this list bitch about their sexual relations with men.
