I bought my first LMT CQB MRP in 2006 and have not looked back. I own several LMT MRP's and MWS now. They are rock solid, accurate, military used and proven. I do use the quick change barrel feature and it works as advertised.

For a precision cartridge like the 6.5 Creed at ranges mostly beyond 300 yards you will be happier with magnification that reaches 15x to 20x max power. I really like the Leupold 3.8 x18. It is light for its class and very compact. Your mounting options will be limited due the 35mm tube. The Nightforce mentioned above is great along with 2.5 x 20. Spuhr makes a great return to zero mount if that is a requirement. Nightforce makes good light weight mounts as well. These days there are many great scopes even at lower price points. I think scope overall size/weight and reticle choices become bigger deciding factors. I would say the same applies to the mounting options. How much does it weigh/size vs return to zero requirement.

Update on the long freebore. Managed to find a load that works well. Running some pissin hot loads at 2970fps out of a 26” bolt action. Definitely a compressed load. Will load some more and maybe seat deeper as it was giving me better groupings. No excuses but I’m pretty sure the 3 fliers are people moving around on the public shooting range bench and knocking my gun around.

Like you, I find the BnA to be a superior trigger to the TT for many reasons.

One TMB left and Bart 308 blank would trade for .257 7.5 twist blank or very low round count zermatt smith shouldered prefits

Getting a lot of questions about the interface of the MARS and the MX. It is simple. There is NO interface between the two. What you are seeing is my coyote rifle. I hunt by humping back into the open country, which is 100 % public land. I usually setup up my first calling hide around 0630 or so. I hunt all day and I generally cover about 3-7 miles. I use the MARS when the MX is safely in its pouch attached to my pack. When it gets dark, the MX takes over. After the hunt I hump back out with HMT’s or NOD’s.
The MX uses the disturbed reticle which is generated via the on board Applied Ballistics program. It is balls on and has never failed in producing a kill shot. It is extremely fast solution. All you have to do is superimpose the ranging cue that is visible in the scope, on your target. Push the middle button on the MX remote and it laze’s the target and then produces an electronic reticle in your field of view. You place that on target and the rest is up to you. It literally is that simple. Hope that helps.
This will be the last bump. I’m having some serious 2nd thoughts about letting it go.

Since Illumination was brought up here some stellar.... phone photos of the Illumination on the reticle.... Now I wish Nightforce could be at this quality of Illumination especially on the lowest setting. Things appear brighter because you know; its a phone camera and Im not competent enough to jack with camera settings.

USO was a Custom Scope manufacturer and still kinda are.. Could pick what turret system, reticle, internal bubble level.. Really regret selling my USO LR 17... It wasnt bright glass but the contrast, clarity and the features were pretty sweet and also had good Illumination which everyone with the exception of vortex seems to suck at..

Brother ordered 4 cases a 9mm for 180 a case.. waited 2 years for optics planet to fullfill it and eventually tried to refund him... he got his 4 cases of ammo. Ah the days of covid. Thats my optic planet story of the day..

If we all liked the same thing their we would all look alike. Definitely depends on what matters to someone. I dont like the numbers on the centerline gets in the way and when I hold over im backed out of magnification most of the time so I can see the outsode numbers... No matter what someone gonna cry lol

Here is a little better side by side with a 1969 CMP Remington 700 Govt Sniper and a 1966 M40 stock off a Marine rifle.

The pistol grip extends further down on the 1969 stock than the 1966. Also on the 1969 stock the bump behind the rear sight isn't as pronounced. Even from distance you can see the bump on the 1966, but up close you barely see it on the 1969.

If you compare the two of the OP above they remind me of the stocks I see on the 1969 CMP rifles. Now one could argue the semantics of the M40 name as technically only the Marines used that name and the other branches that received these Remington 700 Govt Snipers didn't. But that is a whole other subject and would likley be splitting hairs.

Badger Max-50 rings I'd imagine would handle it.
