I have shot my $429 Howa Barreled Action from Brownells in 6.5 Creedmoor to 1,200 yards.Other people mentioned the HOWA stuff and honestly I almost went for it - I keep seeing cool howa builds on here and Ive since found barrel and trigger upgrades for them. If you don't plan to shoot more more than 500 yards Its a real option.
regards,
Thats whats going to be worked on. I think a big part of the idea is not allow Hamas, or something similar to re imbed them selves like they were.
I wish I had the magic answer. I don’t.
You haven't given a purpose for the scope. What kind of shooting do you intend to do, what rifle is this going on, you plan on entering any competitions, is this for an AR or a crossover hunting/long range rig? The NX8 is a fairly niche scope that I wouldn't compare to Mark 5, I would compare the ATACR more to the Mark 5 line to be honest. ATACR is assembled in USA but NX8 is made/assembled in Japan if I'm remembering right, just an FYI.Currently I have a vortex viper pst gen 2 5-25 and I have an Arken EP 7-35 gen 2.
Personally the glass in the 2 above optics to my eye are just fine.
I want something America. Papa trump is back and it’s time to go Mercian.
Having said that I don’t have any reps behind more “primo” glass.
I’ve held just about every optic in hand at a Scheels but looking through any optic indoors at maybe 50 yards I can’t tell a big difference.
Tons of knowledge on here so I have the option between an NX8 or a MK5 (have mil discount so that helps).
Which would you go with? And why?
....ssoooo what ur essentially saying is don't hold my breath waiting for backorder from Xmas sale right?
Makes sense, could be. Heat expands the barrel (from inside out obviously=bore), stiffness is reduced, and harmonics change. Could be any or all of the above contributing to it.Did the hot barrel increase speed and get back what the rifle likes with the can on
Haha I had the same question. I am running 230 A Tips at 2780 with a charge of Retumbo in a 24" barrel. Could go hotter but shoots great with single SDs.What velocities are you getting in your 300 PRC?
About exactly how my 300PRC shoots. What did you get for speed with the factory ammo?View attachment 8610614
Shot this group. It's 12rds at 100yds off a bipod/rear bag. Not too shabby. It's a 24" M24 contour Osprey in 300prc. Factory 225gr ELDM. Not too shabby, eh?
This is the rifle:

I always crack up when I see this one. That picture is from my AO.
It's really mostly set up for extruded powders at the moment. Need to do some testing with ball powder, but there are some limitations with keeping it where it's supposed to be that are much more difficult. How does it do with very small powder like BLC-2 or CFE 223? I have a gen 2/3 and the hornady drop hates that powder.
Yes, the erector and focal length also play a role in how forgiving the eyebox is. The TT is very forgiving and I'd have a hard time thinking the 8x Kahles K328i would be better; however, I have not seen the Kahles K328i so its hard to know what trickery they may have used to help improve eyebox performance, but in fact, you mention one of those "tricks" when you say Kahles lists their exit pupil at 7.4mm. In general exit pupil is mathematically equated by taking the objective size divided by the magnification so in theory the Kahles should have 14.3mm exit pupil at 3.5x, but one way to help with such a high erector is to limit the exit pupil which it appears Kahles has done here. Does a larger exit pupil equate to a more forgiving eyebox - in general yes, but there are other factors within the optical formula that effect eye box which is why eye box is not a spec that any manufacturer provides, you have to experience it for yourself. Finally, exit pupil is not always linear, so just because Kahles is limited at 3.5x doesn't mean it will be as limited at 15x, you would have to talk with Kahles and see if they'd be willing to share the exit pupil values at multiple magnifications.Euro lists the TT’s exit pupil as being 11.5mm on its minimum magnification. Kahles lists theirs as having 7.4mm. Does this equate to the Tangent as having a more forgiving eye box, or is there more to this than the exit pupil?
I've tried it with Retumbo and 8133 on the big end so far. Works great.I would like to know have you tried n570 that might be the one.
Freud has some thoughts on that behavior.Someone sure mentions cock a lot. Obsessively so.

Gotcha. I work at a steel mill, and one the company's out here, have one similar, to cut up scrap beamIt's a shear at the end of a 500 ton press like you find at a scrap yard recycling big chunks of metal.

Low light being top priority changes things, while 50mm generally do great in low light hard to beat physics with a larger 56mm objective. Maybe try to find yourself a nice Hensoldt 4-16x56... of the 50mm objective scopes I found the Tangent Theta 3-15x50 to be one of the brightest, coupled with the mildot reticle you might just be very happy.Obviously all things equal lighter is better, but low light performance is top of the list. So I would tolerate a heavier scope, even a boat anchor if it was worth it optically. My average hike to a stand is 300-500 yards. So weight won’t break me. Reticle wise I like minimal. Ideally for a hunting optic I would prefer illuminated but only the center most portion and not the full reticle bc it tends to overflow at dusk.
