Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

The weather's so foul here today (wind with gusts to 60+MPH, 30* with snow) that I might as well get the 6XC bbl pulled from the 1st Solus and get the chamfer cut on it. I entertained the thought that the rifle might still feed the 105 Scenars out of an AIAW magazine instead of AICS, but why not cut the chamfer first and find out if it fixes the problem? Only found one place that usually has AW mags in stock; might wait to see if Accurate Mag ever comes out with the AW mags...
ETA - photo of the PVD FDE 223AI in a B&C #2015 stock. Scope is probably overkill, but have been looking for an excuse to get the big Sightron SVIII mounted on something so I can try it out....
Grayops has their AW mag.

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Other than this "screen capture", I haven't seen this anywhere else. If this happened (if they released that info) you'd think it would be everywhere on social media. Wishful thinking or disinformation machine?

It was debunked.....by the same people screaming about DOGE.
It is actually false.......
The dollarcamounts were much higher and the listcof names was much longee so....fake news.

Which Chassis and Why?

I have been shooting a Bergara for NRL 22 and want to upgrade to a Vudoo eventually but don't want to spend that much at the moment.... So I was thinking I could buy the chassis now and use it for the B14 for now, then get a Vudoo Barreled action later.

Not sure if that's the best plan, but seems logical while sitting here with my 1st drink of the night..

I would like to know what more experienced shooters think and then which chassis... I was looking at MPA and MDT but don't have any experience with either but I really want to look cool, even if I don't hit anything. :)

Modacam B14R barrel or Vudoo/RimX?

So I shot it. Now this isn’t competition worthy I’m sure but it surprised me. You can literally see where the gun was shot suppressed, moisture collected only to one side of the barrel when it was laying on its side and caused some corrosion. I wish I took pictures but I definitely wasn’t happy about leaving it sit at some point with the can on.

I’m sure it was up at our camp where we pound through a 500 round box of SK between a couple rifles over the weekend and I left the can on

Anyways took it out for the first time this year. Up to a rainy and cold 35°

Shot one group at 50 yards. Took me a couple shots to get on paper as the new DNT wasn’t bore sighted. Shot out of my kids bedroom of a plastic folding table

50 yards. 8 shots of SK LR. I had 10 in the mag and I took the first couple to get on paper

Next I moved to 100 yards. Shot the rest of the 50 round box. My drop showed 6.1. Not realizing that was in moa I donated the first few rounds to the swamp behind my target

This is the last 3 groups at 100 yards. 30 consecutive shots with only 1 round which was the first of that group going outside 1 MOA. Otherwise 29 shots inside 1 MOA and think like 27 inside 3/4 MOA

Doesn’t seem like anything is changed as this is how it shot before.

My next question,

Is this considered good? I do want to build another 22 coming up for my wife and eventually kids to shoot with me. I’m thinking I may just put this one back in the factory stock and build out a high end one for myself. I’m not sure with the way this is shooting if it’s worth a new barrel after firing it

I did have 1 or 2 hang ups each mag where I had to reseat the round in the mag for the bolt to properly grab it. I’m also not super crazy about the bolt lift on this thing which makes me sway towards just upgrading down the road

On another note. This DNT rocks and blows the Arken it replaced out of the water.
Yes that accuracy is good, unless you are getting large ES/SDs lot testing of ammo is more likely to get an improvement than a new barrel.

We all kinda knew this...ATF monitoring

When someone local gets caught selling alcohol to minors, they get local charges. As for running moonshine, that has not been profitable since Joseph Kennedy was in business. Even then, most moonshiners were convicted on the new income tax horseshit.

In any case, no one asked for federal agency to investigate or even make up rules and prosecute a constitutional right. And none of the actions by the BAFTE has made anyone even one millimeter safer. Not once. It is a money pit that only exists to turn good people into criminals by the mere stroke of a pen.

In my lifetime, I have not once seen a news story on them busting a moonshiner ring or illegal distribution of alcohol. Would they have not been the agency to pursue Smokey and the Bandit? Not a sheriff chasing his son's bride-to-be?

Not one bit of a story about the agency busting a group or person for smuggling or pirating tobacco. Seems like all they do is concentrate on the F in BAFTE. Enforcing laws that they make up themselves.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

The US had dropped pallets of cash and everyone over there has gotten filthy rich with kickbacks to our politicians.
We've been paying their government salaries and pensions for 3 fucking years.
NATO has been marching east for years.

Why do you believe Ukraine propaganda?
All of these things can be true simultaneously.

Hell, we fired our County Prosecutor, who was caught coming back from Ukraine with his son after policing up a bunch of tapes and documents from his apartment in Kiev. He fled the Country after outing himself in a ritualistic sex abuse ring allegations from one of his friend’s daughters. Now he has a castle in Scotland.

NATO hasn’t been marching east. Eastern Europeans who didn’t forget the last time Russian soldiers invaded and raped them quickly scrambled to join NATO in the 1990s, especially Poland, the Baltics, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria.

NATO was staring at its navel wondering what to do after 1991, then all these Eastern Europeans came clamoring to join. They were smart, while the UK, Germans, Austrians, Italians, etc. were not.

This has got to be one of the ULTIMATE Darwin Award winners...

Actual story went viral a few months ago after the death was reported and podcasters have been gradually covering it in their programs. In late 2024, a Brazilian teenager, possibly told by someone that doing so would get him high, took an adult monarch butterfly, crushed and ground the insect into water to make a paste, and then injected the mixture into one of his thighs. Just a couple of days later, the boy was admitted to the hospital suffering from convulsions, vomiting, high fever, and intense pain in his leg at the site of the injection. Broad spectrum antibiotics had no effect and the leg began to turn blue and necrotic. A few days later, the boy passed away in the ICU from systemic organ failure. Doctors had no idea what mystery illness had caused this until the boy's father told them that he had suspected that his son had injected something into himself after finding the syringe and needle in his room. Tests of the contents still left in the syringe revealed the rest of the answers. The boy's death was most likely caused by the combined effect of systemic septicemia caused by the bacteria-laden remains of the butterfly directly entering the bloodstream, as well as toxins present in the butterfly itself. All species of monarchs are poisonous to deter birds and mammals from eating them.

Considering a 13.9” upper to go with my 18” 6.5 Grendel.. thoughts?

Yup. I don’t notice much difference in hit probability between 12” and 18”, and I’ve had a lot of 18” Grendels, still do.

I pretty much always take the 12” #1, 17.6” #2, and 18” LaRue #3 for intermediate/LR work. If I could only grab one, it would be the 12” due to portability and suppressed.

If it was only carrying the rifle from the vehicle to the bench, then it would be the 24” Grendel or 22” .260 Rem. I haven’t taken the 24” Grendel out since 2015 I think. Just took the .260 Rem Bartlein barrel/GAP-build out last time with my youngest son, since he’s been asking about it. Time of Flight to 780yds is insta-connect with the .260 Rem and 130gr ELD-M Match ammo. Also weighs 14lbs.

My original 16” AA Grendel barrel averaged higher speeds than any of the 18” Grendels I’ve had. Just depends on rifling and other factors. Differences are meaningless, just interesting to note.

The LaRue 18” with that Tranquilo brake is the smoothest to shoot, very easy self-spot, brake not obnoxious.

20” is fun too.

Shooting 100gr ELD-VT from the 12” is really pleasant. Suppressor is noticeably quieter as well, vs 123gr. Cough vs bark. 90gr TNT is really nice handling from the 12” as well. I tame the 12” gas system with a Bootleg carrier, set to fully-suppressed position.
