Looking to dip my toes into the bolt gun world, from the world of ARs.

The pragmatist in me knows that the Seekins and MPA turn key guns are the best value(s) under $3k.

The eternal tinkerer in me knows I won’t be happy with a factory gun as configured. With a hard $1250 cap on a chassis, is there anything better than an MDT ACC Premier Gen 2 or an MPA BA ESR?

The intent is to configure the rifle (minus glass and mount) for $3k, so I think that budget for a chassis still allows for a higher end barrel, trigger, and muzzle device.

After solving my "super weird issues" which were due to bad primers, I have a new problem with my .300 Norma Mag reloads... my groups are very bad (between 1.7 and 2.7 MOA at 109 yards/100m) and it seems that literally all bullets land sideways on the paper target:


Here's my reloading recipe:

• Neck-turned Lapua Brass, trim to length 2.482in, neck OD 0.3355in for a loaded round at OD 0.3375in
• Hornady A-Tip 250 grs, tried bullet jumps from 0.020in to 0.065in
• RWS LRM primers
• Vihtavuori N570 powder (77.9 grains) -- it seems low compared to some guys here on the forum but I'm already above Vihtavuori official max which is at 76.1 grains

I shot twice 15 bullets (plus like 3-5 fouler shots at the beginning):

• String one (15 shots):
  • Average: 2703 fps
  • Std dev: 9.8 fps
  • Extreme Spread: 34.8 fps
• String two (15 shots):
  • Average: 2703 fps (same as string one)
  • Std dev: 8.2 fps
  • Extreme Spread: 30.2 fps

I'm shooting with a silencer, but concentricity looks good:


And my barrel is a 26" 1:10 twist.

While my velocities aren't the best, they aren't terrible either, they're pretty stable... I really don't understand what's causing this.

I tried factory 230 grainers from Norma ("match grade" ammo) and it gave better groups (all holes touching at 109 yards), although I couldn't go to the target to check how they landed.

In your experience, what could cause this?

Figured it may be useful to start a thread on chassis for the CDG with the Aw Mags.

I am planning on trying out the Magpul pro 700 as shooting in the cold on bare aluminum sucks.

I am selling this Schmidt Bender PMII 5-25 rifle scopes. It has Double Turn MOA Turrets and the MOA P4F FFP reticle.

In February 2025 this scope was sent to S&B for overhaul and to have CCW turrets installed, so internals and functions are like new. It has not been mounted or shot since overhaul. Originally it had clockwise turrets. S&B paperwork is shown and a copy will be provided to new owner. If you are looking at this scope you know it's value.



Scope serial number 371698 is the scope in great condition. Glass is near new. There is a minor scratch on the objective bell as pictured and there may be marks on various dials but everything operates like new condition smooth since turrets were overhauled by S&B. **SOLD** Scope serial number 360189 was wrapped with self sticky camo wrap and upon removal it discolored the black finish slightly. I spoke with S&B about it they said its nothing to worry about. The objective glass looks like it has a couple of tiny dots on it. I did a basic clean but I did not want to scratch the glass, so I left it alone. As you can imagine these dots can not be seen while looking through the scope and the image appears perfect as expected with S&B glass. Aviation features

Additionally, pilots can access aviation weather, including NEXRAD radar, METARs and TAFs to see winds, visibility, barometric pressure and more directly on their smartwatch5.



During airborne operations, Jumpmaster can be used for three jump types: HAHO, HALO and Static. Set the watch to dual-positioning mode, and it will simultaneously display two sets of coordinate systems, such as MGRS and latitude/longitude, on a single data screen.

Long story short: I was supposed to return this two years ago, and then we cleaned up our den and realized it was still sitting there. At this point it can’t be returned, so I figured “what the hell?,” someone here might be able to use it.
