Advanced Marksmanship Tips & Tricks, from Tripods to Stage Examples for - UKD Team Field Match or Hunting

See the 2021 match schedule here: https://www.avenaltactical.com/ including the next UKD Team Match, 2 PRS Pro Bolt series, PRS SW Regional Qualifier, and monthly Hunter and PRS regional series, matches.

Because our match was sold out 10 months in advance, we feel we should offer a spin up series of topics on how to prepare best for our UKD Field Match, what to expect, tips, and tricks, and stage samples. Many of the techniques we will discuss will also have an application for hunting. The intent is to help shooters better prepare and develop field skills. The topics for tips cover field tripod use, testing your PLRFs beam, team dope cards & arm boards, to what to carry with stage samples and stage debriefings.

We have several industry leaders that have donated to support the shooters. Companies like these, giving back to shooters, is nothing short of amazing. Please remember to look at our sponsors first when considering a new toy.

We'd love to have shooters of all levels post a tip if they have one. Please post your questions and suggestions, your input is welcome, even if you're not shooting this match.

If your team is shooting this, read the tips; some of the stages will use strategies from multiple tips segments - Everything you need to sail through the stages will be shared here. Make sure to create an account so that you can see the details shared in the pictures.

The date is set for another 2 person Team Match in 2020. Last year it sold out fast! The idea is for this to be good practice for a larger match or the ideal first field style match for the shooter. We plan to keep the match small. Teams had a blast last year, so get registered.

The date is Sunday, Nov 22, 2020 @ 7:00 AM ~ If you are interested, even without a partner, please sign up below --

Here is our link to the PractiScore signup: https://practiscore.com/team-challen...clone/register

  • Free Camping
  • NRL 22 match on Saturday evening (sign up via PractiScore run as a separate event)
  • Sight-in
Sunday:
  • UKD - Unknown Distance Range it, find it and shoot it. (Range finders are fine, and most stages will have a known size if you'd rather use a reticle)
  • One reticle only stage
  • Time will be shared between team members but should be very generous if the team is organized, shooters will work together
  • Round count somewhere around 160+ per team
  • Managing Ammo might play into team strategy this year (hint)
  • Mostly natural terrain like you might find hunting in the foothills, side-slopes, down-slopes, dead space problems-- tripods are recommenced our very tall shooting sticks
  • Tripods, shooting sticks, Packs whatever you want to ruck up the hills will be fine
  • The course requires between 2-3 miles of hiking depending on the starting position
  • You can share gear, but sharing tripods will cause you to be less effective with your time management.

Pipe dream or possible? Any legal analyses?

So lots of talk last few days after the Heritage foundation discovered that the only document Biden signed as president was the one where he quit the race.

Every single other bill and executive order was signed with an auto pen.

As folks are saying, whoever controlled the auto pen controlled the presidency And people are coming forward to say that Biden didn’t remember signing things even days after they were signed.

So the chatter is all about whether auto pen signing of bills is actually legal. Or whether Biden‘s entire history of executive orders and signing legislation is vacated.

I suspect it’s a Supreme Court question. Or is it? What’s the precedent? What’s the law? If it says the president has to sign bills for them to become law. If the president doesn’t sign it then how can an order or piece of legislation be valid?

Somehow, I think overturning an entire presidency might get a little bit weird constitutionally. Then again that’s what the constitution is for!!

Does an auto pen controlled by someone who is not the president suffice for executive orders, pardons and Bills?

Is there a precedent? For example, when Woodrow Wilson was president following his stroke, his wife pretty much ran the presidency. Does that constitute a precedent that would allow Jill or some staffer to use the auto pen?

Love to know what our legal minds think!!

Any 22LR that compare with Vudoo?

Hello,
I am looking to purchase a 22LR trainer and am having a hard time finding anything close to the vudoo. Trying to stay under the 1k mark for complete setup and want a chassis style rifle that is capable of 100y moa accuracy. I have been hearing hit or miss with the ruger and crickett. Any other recommendations? Would love a vudoo but never see them for sale used and new is out of the budget.
Thanks for the help

Medium Actions

Invitation to discuss medium actions in general.
Below are some of the notable traits traits I've seen:
  • Lone Peak
    • Integral picatinny rail and lug
    • Lots of prefits
    • Titanium option
    • Nitride
    • M-16 style extractor
  • Zermatt
    • Origin supports WTO and HLR lugs
    • Integral lug on TL3, Ti3, & SR3
    • Interchangeable bolt faces
    • Mechanical ejection
    • Lots of prefits
    • Titanium option
    • Tang options
    • DLC and/or nitride
    • Savage style extractor?
  • Defiance XM Plus
    • Most customizable
    • Nitride optional
    • M-16 style extractor
  • BAT Vesper
    • 17-4 steel is comparable in weight to titanium alternatives.
    • Integral picatinny rail and lug
    • Longest COAL using UM bottom metal
    • Interchangeable bolt bodies.
    • Nitride
    • M-16 style extractor
  • Stiller
    • No clue, do people actually buy these with the other options being available?
Oddballs:
  • Tikka
    • Probably most economical, is very lightweight, and has an amazing trigger with just the change of a spring
    • No chassis options that accept MDT medium action magazines
    • 70 degree bolt throw
    • Sako extractor
  • Defiance XM
    • Probably no point to getting this now that the XM Plus is out.
Would love to hear corrections or additions to the above, comparisons, etc. Much appreciated.

Firearms **Price Drop**Seekins HAVAK Element .300 PRC 22"

Used Seekins Element. The third bullet out of this thing smoked an Elk at 550 yards. I put another 137 rounds through it in total. I have shot as far as 1558 on several occasions. The accuracy is unbelievable for a guy that has very little long range experience. This gun has made me an addict that's for sure. This has been my favorite gun of all time which is why im selling it. I really want the new Hunter Element with that folding chassis.
The goal is to sell the gun, not the other items. But if you want the gun and its addition's, the prices are below.

Gun alone: $2100
Plus NF, NX8 4-32x50 Mil-XT: $3800
Plus, ACCU-TAC PC-5 BIPOD BLk: $4100
Plus Pelican gun case: $4300
