AT-XC bolts are not compatible with AT/AW bolts

I just picked up an AT-XC and was going to have Bugholes do a 223 conversion. I was able to find a complete bolt, but when I went to put it into the gun, it was a no-go. After comparing the two bolts, it is clear that the changes they made for the AT-XC are significant. Unless I am missing something, I will have to wait for the AT-XC bolts to become available.

Thread options for a Tikka Superlite .243

I have a T3x stainless lite 22-250 threaded 1/2x28 and running a Banish 223 suppressor with direct thread and and it works fine. I recently bought a T3x Superlite .243 w/22” barrel. I bought a Thunderbeast 6.5 Ultra 9 that I want to run on it. I talked to Thunderbeast and they do not recommend 1/2x28 direct thread for this suppressor, they do not think there’s enough shoulder. Why wouldn’t this suppressor work with 1/2x28 threads like my 22-250? I’m looking for options to mount this Ultra 9 on the .243. I see Area 419 has options but I do not know enough about them. Thanks

X-Caliber barrels are awesome

Ever have one of those range days where everything went right? I feel like they've been few and far between lately and after the absolute shit show I had with another barrel maker that took months to resolve, I have to say the 223 Wylde barrel X-Caliber made for me is just fantastic. Absolutely puts a smile on my face and it's like hitting the easy button. Nothing special, Wylde chamber, 16" 1:7 twist HBAR fluted profile with 5/8x24 threaded end. No cryo or other special treatments. I paid an extra $100 to rush it but thanks to the sale the barrel itself was $400 and worth every penny. The rest of the gun is self-assembled, V-Seven GI Seven upper (their cheapest one), ADM lower, Normal buffer tube setup and an RCA lightweight BCG. It was an interference fit with the V-Seven upper.

I knew the barrel was sub-MOA from the get go but I did a little experiment today changing scopes and taking two different hand loads that'd I'd done for a completely different barrel. The first was a Nosler 52 grain custom competition and a Hornady 60 grain V-Max. The Noslers were a bulk "2nd's" I'd purchased of of GunBroker back in 2018. Instead of using the 1-8 Burris I usually have on the rifle, I stripped the 3-18 Meopta6 off my 308 gas gun. I suspected the 1-8X was holding me back a bit from producing really tight groupings and I think I was right. Took four rounds to zero it in using some crappy Fiocchi factory-loaded ammo and I started with a squeaky clean barrel. Can't say enough good stuff about the Meopta. Seriously overlooked scope.

I slapped the first magazine in and I did a 10-shot group with the Noslers that I could cover with a nickel (@100 yards). The best part is this is one of the first finalized hand loads I ever did years ago and was very new to reloading. I hand the same with the Hornady V-Max which is not exactly a precision bullet. Those were my first "bulk" load using a Dillon 750. Looking at the Nosler group, honestly, any variation was down to the shooter. Just me, bipod and a rear bag. Trigger is a Velocity with a 4lb. pull so not a precision light pull trigger. Some of you guys probably could have put them all through the same hole (many were). Still, I'll take it.

Even the Riflespeed gas block, which had been giving me issues, was actually working as it should.

On top of that, I brought along the POF P415 12.5" SBR (5.56) with nothing more than an RDO and I have no doubt it could produce at least MOA @100 with that red dot (actually green). It's a surprisingly accurate factory barrel and a fantastic gun all around. I do wish it were a tad lighter and the gas system was a bit more intuitive but it surprises me every time I take it out. It's one of those rifles that inspires confidence right off the bat and feels like a unicorn rifle. I have one of the higher end Holosun RDO's on it and the dot is very crisp. I have a lower-tier Holosun as a temp on my Sig Spear LT and I kid you not, the "dot" looks more like an off kilter chevron with one leg longer than the other. A tight dot really makes quite a difference.

Speaking of the Sig, took it out as well. Loaded up some Hornady Black 208-grain subs, which have never cycled in any other rifle I've owned. Whelp, they cycled and locked the bolt back. Pinching myself.

Bell and Carlson Fit - Savage 111 barrel nut

I installed my action into this stock a couple years ago. If I pinch the barrel and the tip of the stock together, the barrel would make contact and thought maybe that’s normal? Tonight I took it apart to clean it and noticed the barrel nut marks on the stock (see picture). I don’t recall if this was there when I first installed it or if the impression was created when I first installed it. Is that impression okay or do I need to sand it down so no contact is made? Could this be causing the flex and the action not being fully seated to the bed? Thanks.

Arca rail on a Bergara stock.. sideways?

Have a Bergara Extreme Hunter stock on a back up rifle for coyote hunting. Want to put a SMALL arca rail on it for use on a tripod. The stock ("molded synthetic stock is made of glass fiber reinforced polymer") is skeletonized with a rib up the middle so can't mount the rail 'in-line' without wiping out that rib.

Any reason I can't mount the rail sideways (90 degrees) so I can straddle the rib?

Wisconsin Teacher Who Made Out with Fifth-Grader Faces Life in Prison

Wisconsin elementary school teacher Madison Bergmann, 24, was arrested Wednesday for alleg

The disgraced Wisconsin elementary school teacher arrested in May for allegedly “making out” with a fifth-grader has been hit with more charges and faces a life sentence in prison if convicted.
Madison Bergmann, 24, who taught at Hudson’s River Crest Elementary School until being charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child, is now facing nine additional felonies, the New York Post reported.
The allegations originally came out when the parents of an 11-year-old boy discovered text messages between him and Bergmann, featuring conversations about inappropriate encounters they allegedly had in her classroom during lunch periods or after school.
The teacher allegedly wrote that she enjoyed the child touching her and “making out,” according to charging documents that CBS News obtained.
Upon reading the disturbing messages, the boy’s father stormed into the school with printouts of the conversations in hand.
A subsequent police investigation uncovered even more disgusting details, including handwritten letters found in Bergmann’s backpack in which she allegedly wrote about kissing and being in love with the young student.
“One of my cousins is in the 5th grade and I can’t imagine a man talking to her how we talk,” Bergmann allegedly wrote. “I know we have a special relationship and I do love you more than anyone in the world but I have to be the adult here and stop.”
Bergmann, who was engaged to be married in July when she was first arrested, resigned from her teaching position shortly after the news broke, KARE11 reported.
After further investigation, prosecutors charged her with one count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, five charges of sexual misconduct by school staff, two charges of child enticement causing mental or bodily harm, and a charge of exposing a child to harmful materials, according to an amended complaint that the New York Post viewed.
Bergmann faces up to 185 years in prison if convicted and sentenced consecutively.
Her ex-fiance, Sam Hickman, is reportedly humiliated that she “cheated with a little kid.”
An anonymous friend of Hickman told the New York Post, “Sam is really upset and heartbroken. He’s embarrassed and pissed. He didn’t deserve this. Everyone is pissed.”
The friend said it was a mutual decision to cancel the wedding, adding Hickman “says it’s f*cked up that she cheated with a little kid.”

YIKES!!
