I just picked up a used Howa mini heavy barrel in 223 Remington. I'm noticing the bolt lift after pulling the trigger is extremely heavy. I need to have a firm grasp of the rifle to open the belt. I am not familiar with this model, is this normal?

I have a Remington 700 LA G674 receiver that I am looking to sell. This action falls within the serial range for a mk13 mod 5. It is currently a standard bolt face so it can be opened up to receive a magnum extractor.

I bought a Stag 6.8 SPC upper years ago to play with, but then I got into NRA Highpower shooting and never used it. I was hoping to use it for some varmint hunting but I pulled the upper apart and repurposed the receiver.

I shot exactly 14 rounds through this barrel.

- 16in Stag barrel, 6.8 SPC Spec II, 1:11 twist, includes front sight and pins, flash hider, ....BARREL NUT WAS DAMAGED DURING REMOVAL FROM UPPER - YOU WILL NEED A NEW BARREL NUT.
- Matched Stag 6.8 Bolt - from the same upper, 14 rounds
- Ammo four (4) full boxes (and a fifth box with 6 rounds) of Hornady Custom 6.8 SPC 120gr SST. The last 5 rounds I fired from this barrel went into a group less than 1in at 100yds.

Hi, I'm looking for a rear bag to use during tactical shooting sessions.

I currently have a rabbit ear type rear bag, which doesn't seem very suitable for this type of shooting.
Honestly, I'm not comfortable position when the rifle takes on a pronounced inclination.

That's why I'm thinking of buying a soup can type or pad type rear bag.
Always use by wringing it out.

Trying to understand the technical reasons 6mm Basher seems to be more accurate(popular) than 243 winchester?

Why?
They are so close to being the same cartridge?

Is it all default barrel twist?
Will a 243 with 1:7 or 1:8 be just as good as 6mm Dasher?

Are there additional reasons?

Does the 6 Dasher deal with long VLD bullets better?

Better rifling land engagement?

Not much to say about this optic, it has been a solid scope and I hate to part with it. I simply no longer use it.

It has been used heavily on a truck gun and looks the part. There are several cosmetic marks on the body and some dings in the finish (see pictures). It functions like a tank and the lenses are in great condition. I will include some Leupold Aluminum 35mm high rings and a neoprene cover.
