New Distance Shooter

Hey everybody I'm definitely not new to shooting, I've been in law enforcement for over 20 years but I am new to any type of distant shooting.

I just bought myself a new rifle (LWRCI REPR MKII) and a new scope (ATACR 4-20X50 F1) for it and looking forward to put in some rounds through it and getting the scope sighted. The problem is I live in Northern Virginia and there's not a lot of places to go with any type of distance.

Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

Finally got the new US Optics TXH 3-18x50

Been waiting on this one since SHOT Show, I've been playing with it for a week now on my WLVRN, and I absolutely love it. I am really getting hooked on this 3-18 power range. Features on this thing are pretty awesome, love the turret design, clarity, and 34mm. I was shocked at the sticker price under $700. (updated as pointed out by somebodies daddy)
I'll be doing a full review soon. Check it out here:

Optics WTS Nightforce ATACR 1-8 Black

Brand new. Never mounted to anything. Comes with box and all accessories.

Selling because I don’t like some of the quirks like how the entire ocular piece rotates when you change magnifications.

Asking $2400 OBO shipped. No trades

is casper wyoming a good spot to move to for work?

Whats the story with the casper area? Is there any good elk hunting around there? How is the crime, cost of living? is it predominately republican or democrat? I have lived in northern MN and the Fargo area so I know what bad winters are like. I would like to eventually retire in wyoming. I have traveled the northern half of the state, but never down by casper or cheyene. I would like to get some acreage to shoot on. I grew up on a farm and have lived in the country on acreage most of my life. What can you guys tell me that I should know?

I get no respect, I'm telling ya

No respect, I'm telling ya. Nobody wants to do anything with me. Had to force my puppy to play Scrabble with me. He ate all his letters.
I take him to the vet . You know my vet, doctor Lysensback, great guy. They say he needs to stay and I should go home. I'm getting use to it, I'm telling ya, getting use to it.
I call the next day , they say call back in 2 days. I call back and ask what's taking so long. If I don't have my dog , I get no visitors ya know. I ask what's wrong with him.
They tell me there's no word yet but nothing wrong with my dog. No respect, I'm telling ya, no respect.

H4831 vs H4831SC "Carolina Load" 6.5CM

Hi all -
I was following a recipe for something called a "Carolina Load" for my 6.5CM, except I wanted to use H4831 instead of the H4831SC that was suggested. This is my first time reloading anything, and I don't yet know a lot about various different powders (except from a chart of fast vs. slow burners), but this particular recipe called for 44.3gr of the H4831SC.
I also realized that I bought the wrong bullet for the recipe, but I figured the overall fitment between the two might be minimal, so I proceeded (I have a Hornady 140 gr ELD Match, instead of the suggested 140 gr SST).
Long story short...I cannot fit 44.3 gr of powder in the case, and still install the bullet to COL of 2.800". It's such a compressed load that the bullet cannot be seated that deep and the bullet is mildly damaged when I attempt to seat it at that COL.
Is the physical shape of the power's granule quite different between these two powders? Is the Short Cut powder much smaller in size? I can't find a lot of information about the powder differences.
Thanks!
