I have a project going where I will eventually have a carbon Sendero barrel in a Manners stock. Until then, I’m trying to get a steel barrel to use in the same stock for a while before rebarreling to the carbon Sendero.

Anybody have experience running a Heavy Sporter or up to a Heavy Bull Sporter contoured barrel in a larger, Sendero channeled stock?

I don’t want the steel barrel to be absurdly thin sitting in the Sendero channel, but I also don’t want to step up to a really heavy contour just to fit the channel perfectly.

Running into feeding issues with my T3x CTR 6.5 CM in a Manners T5A that's inlet for the CTR bottom metal.

Mag is fairly loose even with bolt closed. Action screws are at 60 in-lbs. I've disassembled and reassembled a bunch of times trying to figure it out. I don't have the factory stock to test with anymore. When it fails, the rounds will run into the feed ramp and just get stuck.

Is a very light coat of oil on the feed ramp going to affect the flight of the rounds? Am I using the wrong action screw torque? Anything else you guys can think of that might be causing it? Happens maybe once every other magazine.

Ordered a barrel and was asked 5 or 6 groove rifling. Going to sound stupid here but what is everyone shooting? Does it make that much of a difference? I’m far from a professional. Initial research claims bullet/jacket deformation with 6 groove. I watched the bartlein video and he says 5. Everything seems conflicting so looking for info from folks who use and know this stuff. Barrel is a 26” heavy varmint 1-8 twist chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. Thanks in advance.

I used the Hornady 4DOF app on my phone this summer for practice. I used an older Kestrel to input the wind by hand. It worked well.

Then I got a surprise while hunting. I was hunting in an area without cell coverage (typical).

There was a deer 482 yards ahead of me, downhill shot, 29 mph. I wanted an aiming solution from the app.

I pulled out my phone and found out that the Hornady app dropped me. It wanted me to log in again. I tried to log in but that requires cell phone service.

So I have learned that the Hornady 4DOF app is not useful without cell phone service.

So I will switch.

So after the break in of 87 rounds this is what my Carbon barrel looks like. I shot 7 rounds today string of 3 then a string of 4 today and stopped after noticing these issues. I cleaned it after every one shot for the first 25 rounds after inspection. Barrel shot great around 3 in group at 850. Never shot a string of more than 5 during this entire process and let cool for at least 15 minutes in-between each string. And never more than 30 round in a day as i was getting ready for my elk trip since I got my custom rifle back 3 weeks ago. Rounds average velocity was 2976 with 180gr Norma 300 rum. Anyone ever see anything like this cracked and peeling off Carbon fiber, white thread coming out of Carbon on barrel? I'm calling them tomorrow
