I have a .478 bolt head I would like to trade for a magnum.. also have a 308 fluted barrel I would get rid of if the bolt head sold or swapped. Have 36 rounds on both of them with factory ammo. Would take 120 shipped for the bolt head or swaps, and 285 on the barrel (after bolt head deal)

On February 3rd I purchased a Ruger American Rimfire Target model 8366. I am recovering from shoulder surgery cannot shoot my center fire rifles for 5 months. So the 22LR will provide some shooting time in the interim. I inspected the rifle when delivered to my FFL and found that the 10rd magazine as installed by the factory was stuck. It could not be removed using my, soon to be 83 year old fingers, and following the procedure outlined in the owner's manual. Five young male and female employees attempted to remove the magazine but all failed.

I sent an email to Ruger, explained the problem and asked for an RMA. They did respond within 2 days and I made an outer cardboard box, packaged and delivered it to the FEDEX Hub. I am disappointed in the QC at the factory in Mayodan NC. I am unset that Ruger failed me and I really miss my range time with a rifle. My mistake was not buying a CZ.


After waiting the statutory 10 day background check period, shipped the rifle to Ruger.

I'd like to trade into a nice rifle tripod set up that could safely and securely support a 13-15 lb precision rifle set up - HK USPs, S&W revolvers, real West German made SIG 220's with sharp hammers, maybe optics, maybe rifles on the table depending on the rig available. Cash possible either way depending on the trade, or outright if it is a smoking deal.

Would prefer a pic rail interface for mounting the rifle on the ball but ARCA wouldn't be a deal killer.

Note- I'm 6'2" and my sons are 6'5" - looking for something tall people can use.

Rifle weighs 13lbs with the Mk5 3.6-18. I rattle canned the barrel after it was profiled over the cerakoteand it's a little messy, but is hid by the EFR. Easy to strip off if you want to.

I put 50 rounds down the barrel, haven't done load dev. Prior owner I bought it from had a few hundred down it first. Seems to shoot really well with 41-42gr H4350 with 140ELDs in both Starline and Hornady brass with loads I had for other rifles (velocity was 2550-2640fps depending on the charge and brass).

For sale I have a very lightly used Arken LH4 4-16x44 with the VPR Mil reticle. It was briefly mounted on a 223 bolt gun, then on a 300 blackout bolt gun for a while. It was never abused, and is in excellent condition.

It is currently mounted and leveled in a set of Arken rings, and that’s how it will ship, along with the original box and all the paperwork it came with.

I’ll start

I'm planning on putting together a 6mm arc with a barrel between 10 and 12". I've never fired anything with that short of a barrel and don't know what to expect. Would a muzzle brake make it more pleasant or increase concussion? Unfortunately, suppression is not an option, and I may have to pin and weld, so I have to make up my mind before I can try it. This is mainly a "just because" project. Plinking and hunting if velocities will allow. I imagine doing a fair amount of prone shooting with it.

Does anyone have any wisdom to share?

I'm not building this right away, in fact I'm 3 years away from doing this project because I'm doing my 14.5 6.5 Creedmoor build next year, but I was doing some research into short barrel rifles on the AR10 platform. I saw a video of a 13.5 LMT hitting targets past 1000 yards and it got me interested in the idea.

I'll be building it in an Aero m5 Upper and handguard, and was wondering what my options for barrels are for an SBR 308 rifle?

I'd prefer 13.5-14.5. I was looking at Craddock Precision but they don't have anything less than a 16". Same with Criterion. What barrel makers, twist rate, and gas length would you all suggest for such a build?

I've been struggling with these for a few year, normally just ripping them off at the start of the stage because they slip. Before I just replace them with some aadmounts, tenebraex says the ones for the AMG are unavailable, what have you guys, who also have your defender caps slip, done to keep them in place. Yes I'm sure there are plenty of guys why have never had an issue, that has not been my observation though.
