Optics Complete Hensoldt Spotter 45 Setup w/ Accessories 👀

Hi everyone. I have a turnkey, gorgeous Spotter 45 setup up for sale. This is a complete package, I'm not wanting to disassemble it. It was purchased new, by me, from EO (who also handles any service requests for them) and has only been used a handful of times. Otherwise it's just sat dormant in my smoke-free house on a shelf. I just am not putting it to use so it's ready for it's next owner who will be really able to use it to its full potential. I don't think there's much I need to say about these, they're the best of the best when it comes to tactical spotters and I believe they're discontinued for distribution in the U.S. so they can be tricky to get your hands on one stateside.

Package includes:

  • Hensoldt Spotter 45 / Tan / Horus 32 - $4330 + tax retail (have receipt)
  • Triad Tactical Spotter 45 cover in Multicam - $84
  • Badger Ordnance S.L.I.C.K.-H - $1300
  • Badger Ordnance S.L.I.C.K.-H "Catseye" cover - $185
  • Badger Ordnance S.L.I.C.K. Adapter Plate (RMR) - $50
  • Trijicon RMR HRS - $550

Total Retail before tax and shipping: $6499

Asking $6k + shipping.

New Rem 700 Light Strikes?

Got a new Rem 700 Long Range in 308. Really liking the gun so far, but I'm having issues with some rounds not firing. Been searching a lot, but I can't find good info on where to start fixing/how to diagnose what exactly is the problem.

Happens with factory AAC 175, 168 and Winchester M80 LC brass
Averaging 2-3+ fail to fire per box of 20
Already removed and cleaned the firing pin/spring assembly
Loaded the rounds that didn't go off 2-3 times and they still didn't fire

Fail to fire on top, fired rounds on bottom. Maybe some flattening and slight cratering?

Bolt face has brass marks and what appears to be slight brass shavings?

I'm wondering if the brass shavings are simply getting into the firing pin and impeding it's travel, or if I have some other issue like bad firing pin dimesions or over pressure or headspace.

Do I just buy a new firing pin or spring or see if Rem will send me another bolt assembly?

Thanks for any help. Here is the gun:

Spotting scope info

I’m looking at spotting scopes and need some user input. For my use, they may not even be feasible. So here is my situation. I’m wanting a system that would allow me to see 6.5 hits at 550+. My shooting is off a bench or a rest and would not be used in the field or for hunting. I’m looking at the Swaro ATX 85 and the Kowa TAN-88. Would these be capable of picking up 6.5 holes at the ranges I’m looking for? If so, can you actual users give me your thoughts on the two mentioned. I’ve visited with the folks at Cameraland and they are very high on both. What say you guys? Thanks any input you can give me.

New guy from just outside Boston (I know, MA booooo)

Hello folks,

New guy here, live in the greater Boston area. Just starting to get my feet wet with Long Range and excited to learn from the content here.

22 ARC brass question

I looked through a lot of the “Making 22 ARC” brass threads that I could find before posting this question. So if I missed this thread I do apologize.

I’m looking at building a 22 ARC AR rifle for coyotes hunting, and I want to run Lapua brass. I know Lapua makes 6.5 Grendel brass, and I want to use the 22 ARC Modular Sizing Die from Short Action Custom.

So my question is can I just run the Lapua brass into the SAC 22 ARC sizing die, with the appropriate neck bushing, and I am good to go? One of the guys at SAC said their die is not intended to form the body of the case, and to the best of my knowledge from reading posts, the 22 ARC has the same dimensions as the 6.5 Grendel other than being necked down.

Second, has anyone had to neck turn after necking down to a 22 ARC?

Noveske barrel upgrade? Proof Research?

Hey Everyone,

I have a Noveske N4 Recon and am looking at options for a new barrel. My first choice is a Proof Research carbon fiber 18".

Then I got to thinking that, should I ever decide to sell, it may make the rifle hard to sell or reduce resale value over a SS or CHF steel barrel.

What do you all think?

Am I hurting resale if I go with a non-Noveske barrel?

I know the Proof CF barrel will suit what I want but I don't want to hurt the value in case I should ever decide to sell it.

Thanks!!

Stephen
