Rifle Scopes 1x prism and magnifier

So apparently I have an astigatism, haha... I have red dots on almost all my rifles (as offsets on bolt and offsets or primaries on gas guns) and pistols and have no issues using them effectively although the dot isn't necessarily super crisp (this is with quality red dots, Aimpoint Micros, Acros, PROs). I had only ever really used magnifiers with Eotechs (EXPS 3-2 and 3-4) and the dots although not perfectly crisp, were usable. Yesterday I tried a 6x Vortex magnifier behind my Aimpoint Pro and the dot was just a messy diagonal splotch...

Since I doubt that a higher end magnifier would make any difference, that got me to thinking about trying a 1x prism with a magnifier. When I look at Primary Arms' website, they say their 1x is compatible with their magnifier. Vortex however says that their 1x prism isn't compatible with their magnifier. Being that I don't imagine the "tech" is any different between those 2 brands (as they're just OEMing china stuff anyways) I was curious why one brand would say it's a go and another wouldn't. The only real issue I could imagine would potentially be eye relief so I'd be curious to hear from anyone who's tried this kind of setup. Is this a viable setup or am I better to just get an Eotech? Is there a reason that the dots are crisper with a holo like the Eotech than with red dot like an Aimpoint?

Tying it all together, APMobile, Calypso and LRFs?

So I was reading up on the Calypso and am trying to envision the end state. As an FNG to precision I'm attending my first NRL Hunter event (teamed with a good buddy) in April. I love being efficient (read "lazy"), we are spending lots of time on our workflow. The simpler and easier we can make work, the more time we have for the actually spotting and shooting, right?

So with the Calypso, you can feed the ABMobile app automagically and get your readings, which is wonderful. If you put it in relative wind mode, you can bolt it to the diving board of your rifle and have wind "built in" (I know, wind is tricky and what you feel may not be what is happening elsewhere). But, at least, it is something and very cool.

So now what I'm trying to figure out is how to integrate the LRF Binos. Because I'm in a team event, in a perfect world the spotter would find all four targets (or one target, or two targets, whatever), and then, as part of the workflow, laze the first target. This would then update my APMobile app with range (wind is already there as I'm pointing my rifle at it), and I've got my dope without having to check anything.

Are there LRF binos out there that can sync this way with AB Mobile (or some other app, preferably using the AB engine)?

Cheers!

Classic Custom Mauser

I went to a local gun show this past weekend and found a rather nice sporterized Mauser. I've been looking for a rifle chambered in 22-250, and this fit the bill nicely. When I got it home I promptly disassembled and gave it a quick once over and cleaning.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a Timney trigger installed. I don't have a trigger pull scale, but it is nice and light.
I love the look of this classis sporter. The grip cap was old dried and warped plastic. I need to find a suitable replacement for that. I've also been told that this barrel might have been manufactured before the 22-250 was standardized my Remington. That is rather likely as the barrel is stamped 22-250, not 22-250 Rem.
The Smith that assembled this rifle was Paul O. Gottschall. He was a hall of fame Benchrest shooter.
The barrel is a 1/14 twist, so I have some 50 and 55 grain factory ammo I'm going to try out.
I'm excited to set this guy up and see how it shoots.

Case for Leica Geovid 10x42 AB+

I've just received a pair of Leica Geovid 10x42 AB+ binos and find that the accompanying carry case is too tight fitting for my liking. The Marsupial Large Enclosed Binocular Harness seems like it might work, but it has a magnetic closure and I am concerned about its interference with the internal compass. Any thoughts in this regard?
Thank you in advance,
Ron

M1909 Argentine Mauser Help

I recently picked up a Model 1909 Argentine Mauser Cavalry Carbine made in 1911 according to serial numbers. I am searching for a bayonet that will work, but it seems as if there a a few different variations.

I’m hoping someone on here can tell me if this is the correct bayonet. Thanks in advance!

Geeking out for a minute don't mind me

Back story, the 40X that I was able to buy from a friend was not only the first 40x I'd ever shot (20 years ago), but also as far as I know, a real rare model that I had only ever seen in a magazine (once). Fast forward to tonight where I was allowed to purchase from the same friend the rarest Anschutz I'd ever seen and also one he swore he would take to the grave. He has been selling off some of his collection and I was the only one who spoke up asking to buy it though it was a rifle that was always considered "off limits".
Well here they are, I'm still over the moon that I was able to add these 2 to my own collection.
