Night Vision ISO Eotech Clip-IR owners manual and quick start guide

I’m currently purchasing a Clip-IR and am in need of the reference manual and quick start guide. I’ve searched high and low here and googled my rear off since last night. This material isn’t included with the sale as it is misplaced currently. As this is my first piece of nighvision/thermal equipment, I’m utterly lost in its setup and function, and believe it or not I can’t find that material on eotechs sight, or anywhere else on the interwebs.

Thanks for the help.

JPS

I'm sorry, another over-pressure post....

I've looked through some of the previous posts about problems similar to mine, so I apologize if I'm rehashing an issue, but this is just different enough (to me anyway) to post it. I apologize in advance if I'm being repetitive.
And I need help.
Earlier this year I ordered, and received a Rock River LAR-BT3 in 6.5 Creedmore. Its intended purpose was to start PRS competition, since my son works with a guy that competes. The rifle is kept stock, except for a Vortex scope, and some weights for proper balancing.
I use only factory loaded ammo, since I don't have the time or patience for reloading. I've used Hornady 140 Match, Berger 144 Match (currently my choice), and Winchester 140 Match. I used Ammo Inc 140 Match for initial scope sighting to 200 yds (cheaper).
We were getting used to the rifle's performance at various distances, had shot about 400 rds through it, when we noticed a primer fell out of a fired case. The next few times it started happening more often, and the ejected cases started looking worse. That's when I started to try different factory loads as described above.
The signs are of EXTREME pressure. First I thought there was a carbon build up ring in the barrel/chamber. After a thorough chemical cleaning (left plugged barrel sit overnight with solvent), manual cleaning and rechecking I tried again: symptoms did not change.
Fast forward to experimenting with adjustable gas block, and more cleaning: nothing changed. Adjusted the gas block from full open to where it failed to extract: no real change. The fired brass was VERY difficult to manually extract with the gas closed off. I put original gas block back (since it worked fine in the beginning).
My last range outing for testing after ANOTHER thorough cleaning only showed me the problem is actually getting worse. Every ejected case is now missing the primer, and the rims are bent. Also noticed that accuracy has fallen off, from sub MOA to over 1.5 MOA. There's some damage from what I assume is the ejection port on the neck of the fired brass.
I should also note that I can easily chamber an unfired round with a gentle finger push, and the unfired case will readily fall out if I tilt the barrel and gently tap the rifle butt on a table.
I've tried reaching out to Rock River, but they're not answering my emails. The time I called and spoke with someone from Tech Support, they basically blew me off, blamed ALL the factory ammo as a "common industry problem", and "probably a dirty chamber/barrel". It really was a very insulting tone and conversation, so I thanked them for their time, and let it go. It seems I'm on my own here with an almost-new, expensive, non-functioning gas gun. If anybody knows who else to contact at Rock River Arms that would listen, that might help.
I'm expecting a set of Forster gauges tomorrow to check headspace. As to why headspace would change in a few hundred rounds, that's another question.
Anybody out there who can possibly help? I'm attaching a couple of pictures. You can also see neck damage on ejected brass, though it did that from the first day, before the over-pressure signs started.
Any answers are fully appreciated.

Tikka T3x CTR 6.5CM 24" - How fast do you run your bullets?

Hey guys,
I´m wondering how fast you are running your 140gr. bullets with the factory barrel.
I´ve tried to push it as fast as possible and have read a lot, that 2850fps "is the right velocity", but it seems not for me.

I don´t know if it´s me, but I don´t get accuracy (under 1 MOA) with the original 24" barrel and 140grainers above 2800fps.
And I´ve tried some, Hornady, Nosler, Sierra, Berger, ...

Is it, that the barrel is not sturdy enough or is it me?

How fast do you guys run the 140grainers in the original 24" barrel with good to great accuracy?

Best wishes,
Jay

US Judge Tosses Illinois' Ban On Semiautomatic Weapons, Governor Pledges Swift Appeal

A federal judge on Friday overturned Illinois’ ban on semiautomatic weapons, leaning on recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings that strictly interpret the Second Amendment right to keep and bear firearms.

U.S. District Judge Stephen P. McGlynn issued the lengthy finding in a decree that he said applied universally, not just to the plaintiffs who brought the lawsuit challenging the ban.

The Protect Illinois Communities Act, signed into law in January 2023 by Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker, took effect Jan. 1. It bans AR-15 rifles and similar guns, large-capacity magazines and a wide assortment of attachments largely in response to the 2022 Independence Day shooting at a parade in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park.

McGlynn’s order doesn’t take effect for 30 days.

"Sadly, there are those who seek to usher in a sort of post-Constitution era where the citizens’ individual rights are only as important as they are convenient to a ruling class," McGlynn, who was appointed by President Donald Trump during his first term, wrote in his opinion. "The oft-quoted phrase that ‘no right is absolute’ does not mean that fundamental rights precariously subsist subject to the whims, caprice, or appetite of government officials or judges."

FN 18" Hybrid Barrel

1000002404.jpg

Does anyone have experience with one of these FN 18" barrels with a "hybrid" contour? I can't find any pics of just the barrel to see what the contour looks like, or any info on the barrel weight because they only sell the complete upper and complete rifle. If anyone has pics of the barrel and know the weight, please post it. I like this upper because I have a Zev wedge lock rail and I like it better than my Geissle rails. All the wedge lock rails Hodge, SOLGW M76, Tri Arc, Rosco, Zev, etc are made by Hodge or Zev, I don't remember which one. Molon posted good info on the Zev rail in one of his reviews. I also like that this upper has a pinned gas block, rifle length gas system, and Radian charging handle. I am thinking about buying one of these uppers but can't find much info on the barrel. I know not all FN barrels are created the same. Do you guys think this CHF CL 18" hybrid contour FN barrel is any good?

I made some target analysis software...

First, these are Python scripts, not programs. Second, they are worth what you're paying for them. I'm not a programmer, so they are currently pretty easy to break. You need a newer version of Python, as well as a few libraries like openCV and tkinter. That stuff is mentioned in the scripts, but if you use an IDE like IDLE it'll throw errors that tell you what you're missing.

Why did I do this? Because I wanted some specific data that you usually only get from something like a ShotMarker system. Specifically, I can fairly quickly get lots of precise X,Y positional information into Excel with these. Also, because most of the free programs that do this only have phone apps, and I wanted something on a desktop.

But that said, I built two different versions. One is a manual program with features similar to what you'd find with Range Buddy on Android. The only thing I think I have left that I'm planning on adding is some features to remove previously marked shots or groups. You can have multiple groups, but right now editing after you assign stuff isn't built. Maybe someday. It's currently just simple basic functionality.

The second version is an automatic analysis script that uses a specific target I designed. It identifies all the target points and shot holes for you, with the ability to remap things at the end. It's real purpose is to gather up to 30 shots for statistical analysis, and the target was made with a very precise rifle in mind. It's got a very fine grid, so you could actually do a fair job of calculating X,Y coordinates by hand.

Both scripts then output all their data into CSV files which you can do further analysis on. This includes XY coordinates and deltas from intended aim point, so you can go ham with CEP or DRMS or whatever.

Anyway, they are free, and you can edit them if you want to change colors or add functionality or whatever. I did enhance some of the visibility after I recorded this video, since I realized some stuff was hard to see on smaller monitors. LMK if you have any questions.

Nosler 175 RDF.

For those of you shooting 175 RDF’s in your .308’s what are you seating them at? I’ve heard a lot of guys say in the past that this is a very forgiving bullet but I haven’t been having too good of luck with them yet. I’ve only ever shot 175smk for years but recently bought a box of these because they’re a lot cheaper and have a better BC. I started out doing load development and seated them just inside mag length but still had problems feeding them so have kept pushing them back until they would feed but now it seems they’re all over the place and I’m wondering if my loads are getting compressed with how long they are. Using Lapua brass and 43.3 IMR 4064.
