Optics Vortex MOA scopes. AMG, Razor Gen 2, PST

Selling the last of my MOA scopes, moved away from shooting friends that shot moa only. I have for sale the following, open to offers or trades on one or multiple. Mostly looking for vortex mil razors (gen 2 or 3) or other tree/horus reticle with floating dots. Also would entertain night vision, thermal, or lasers, or laser rangefinder trades.

Will be able to get pictures by tomorrow.

-Vortex AMG 6-24 MOA with vortex precision rings - TRADED

-vortex gen 2 razor 4.5-27 MOA. $1550, can include spuhr mount with scope for extra.

-vortex gen 2 razor 3-18 MOA $1350. Can include a spuhr mount for a little extra if interested.

-vortex pst gen 1 6-24 MOA FFP. Asking 450$ can add adm qd mount for 125$.

Bag Measurements

The distance between the underside of the forearm and bottom of the butt plate which sits on the rear bag is 5". I want a new front bag strictly for bench rest. So should I look for a bag where the underside of the forearm will sit 5" higher than the top of the rear bag for level shooting. However that probably wouldn't be the best for uphill shooting as the butt plate won' go any lower. Downhill, no problem as rear bag can be on its side or straight up. Perhaps a front bag that that flips over or turns would accommodate . Also would appreciate any recommendations as to type and brand of front bag.

2024 NCAA Football Survival Thread...Week 3

After 2 weeks the number of available undefeated teams is down to 60. All 6 pickers advance. Good luck!

Post your Week 3 picks in this thread.

Reposting rules, for your convenience:

1)Pick one college FBS team per week.
2)The team you pick MUST BE UNDEFEATED and PLAYING THIS WEEK.
3)Once you pick a team you MAY NOT PICK THEM AGAIN.
4)If your pick loses you're out. You only advance to the next week if your pick wins.
5)If you fail to pick in a given week, you're out.
6)Last player standing wins.
7)Picks must be posted in that week's thread.
8)If all the undefeated teams lose in a given week or no survivors can advance to the next week, the tie breaker is the player who posted earliest in that week's thread.
9)Each succeeding week, post your pick for that week, as well as those of your previous picks. This helps YOU not to repeat a pick.
10)If you decide to change a pick, don’t edit the original post, just make a new post. I use the last post you make for your pick. This will also affect tie breaker (Rule 8)
11)Be very clear with your pick. Follow the name format of ESPN Conference Standings. (i.e. OSU could be Ohio State, Oklahoma State, or Oregon State)
12)Schedule weeks are per ESPN.
13)Keeping up with your picks is part of the game. If someone picks a team that has a loss or is not playing that week, don't feel it is your civic duty to point out the error of their ways.
14)Pick must be in thread before kickoff of your game.

Rifle Scopes Mounting a rifle scope...do you set the scope and rings back on the rail or do you set it far forward?

I've read several conflicting references regarding this question.

The first book i read specifically advocated setting the scope mount as rearward as possible on the mount.

Recently i found several references stating that the scope rings should be set forward on the mount.

I tend to subscribe to the former but would love to hear from those more knowledgeable than myself.

thank you

Defiance AnTi Ring Size?

So I'm putting together a lightweight hunting rifle and am going to be picking up a set of NF ultralite rings for it. As you can see below, it is an AnTi with the factory pic rail. I threw a NF NXS 3.5-15 on it with a Larue LT104 mount that I robbed from another rifle. This mount is a 1.5" height. I am currently thinking of buying the 1" rings but would like to see if anyone had experience with this action and ring size before I pull the trigger.

Up for sale is one of my first custom built rifles.

Here are the specs:
- Stiller tac 338 action (Wylie)

- 2 x Bartlein MTU barrels chambered in 338 Lapua by Spartan Rifles - 1 in 9.3 twist - Finished at ~24”-25”
- Throated for 300 grain bergers (you can load to the rifling and it still fits safely in the DBM).
- Munster night vision rail
- McMillan A5 with sniper fill. Two flush cups left, one rear.

Round count is 150 on the barrel. The spare has roughly 40 rounds through it (break in, headspace check, etc). Extremely accurate sub half MOA groups using 300 grain bergers, h1000, and Peterson brass.

$#### shipped to your FFL.

Picture below of the rifle as it sits today, and the one posted by Spartan Rifles at the time of the build.

Why is larue never compared?

I'm wondering why larue is never compared between LMT vs HK vs KAC vs SCAR?

I have zero experience in Larue. At the moment I'm very interested in LMT and I like the quick change barrel feature.

My buddy has an OBR, and he's recommending the larue large frame that has the "quick change" barrel.

It's pretty hars to find comparison videos online between the two, but very easy to find comparisons on the brands I listed. Am I missing something?

Before anyone mentions JP, I've owned/own JP large frame and small frame and can understand why they aren't necessarily considered in the "battle rifle" discussion. They're outstanding precision guns, but not really the same comparing to these others.
