Smith and Wesson New Departure chambered for the 38 Smith and Wesson round in beautiful condition which left the factory November 1889. According to Smith and Wesson the star after the serial number indicates the revolver was sent back to the factory to be refinished and the refinish date is stamped under the grip panels on the frame, which is March 1914. Along with the photos I’ve included a copy of the email I received from the Smith and Wesson Historical Foundation after I sent them photos of the revolver. The action works well and the lock up is tight, but the trigger feels rough. I can’t say how good triggers felt in 1889. The grip panels are rather loose because, according to a gunsmith, the screw needs to be replaced. I would like to get $900 but would consider a respectable offer.

Scope height mythe

I just saw Chris Kraft put out a video on scope hight, for years I’ve put my scopes up high so I didn’t have to do contortions with my neck and head to get positioned behind my scopes,I was told I would never get any type of accuracy this way well I always disagreed I felt when I was more comfortable my POI was always consistent .from what I understand it’s never been a proven fact if you run your scope high it will be less accurate .

SOLD Springfield M1 Garand

This one hurts

Service Grade M1 Garand. Far as I can tell it’s got all correct parts; 1943 respective and barrel is stamped 1943

1+/1+

I’ve shot it one time with CMP ammo since getting it.

$1500 OBO shipped in the CMP case. I may be able to find the paperwork; it’s about a 50/50 shot currently.

How about we pay back these fucking scammers?

Just an idea for the group. What say you?

Why don't we all report to paypal that accounts/individuals are selling firearms related items. Would this get their accounts and funds frozen? Might cut down on the problems if the accounts are getting frozen, regardless of where they are located.

I like paybacks and Karma for these sonzabitches/orgaized crime groups.

Just a thought...

Thinking about pursuing a JD down the road, any recommendations?

I've been kicking around the idea of taking the LSAT and going back to school for my JD in a few years.
I already have a BA (Crim) and Masters (Int Relations), but I am thinking about law (still thinking about what direction, criminal, corporate, international are the three that most interest me). I'm a little bit older and more focused but age is still a consideration.
For those that have done it, any recommendations? Anything you wish you would have known before taking this journey?

and yes, I know this is the Bear Pit, so 'er it rip Tater Chip

Time for a new press

So while I like reloading on my single stage it’s time to upgrade. I have my eye on the Dillion 550c or xl750.

I currently reload for several calibers. .223, 22-250, 22cm, 6cm, 6.5cm , 6 arc, 7prc. I’d like to start cranking out 9mm cause my damn kid burns through it like he’s idpa shooter.
Typically shoot 200-300 ish rounds of each (less with a few calibers)With the exception of 223 and 9mm which is substantially more each month.

I really don’t want to out grow the press and have to get newer one in a few years.

Would You just get the xl750 and skip the 550c ?

Also might be a dumb ass question. For those not trimming on the Dillion are you sizing /deprime , prime and pulling them to trim or what’s your process?

Because in my head having the 5th station doesn’t seem logical if not trimming on the press… but I guess you could run a powder check… idk

I’ve only ever ran a single stage and have all the shit to trim (not on the press).

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Not new to reloading or prepping at all just progressive presses.

Thanks,
Dave

SOLD WTS: Remington 700 300 win mag Rifle Build

This was my hunting rifle until I decided to build a lighter one for hunting. Getting older and weight matters more now then it used to. This has been a GREAT rifle, absolute tack driver with 210 sierra matchkings and 77grains H1000. Currently it weighs 11 lbs with no optic. Since this was my hunting gun it didnt get shot much so the round count now is 287 rounds. The specs of the rifle are:

26" criterion varmint barrel with muzzlebrake
Timney trigger set at about 2.25 lbs
Manners T5A stock glass bedded
Remington 700 factory un-trued action
Leupold dual dovetail mounts (lapped)

I have decided to part this out after trying to sell it outright. Seems like there was much more interest in parting out. So here is the part out list.

The barreled action: $600 OBO
Action and bolt with custom bolt knob
Timney trigger
Leupold dual dovetail rings 30mm
Criterion barrel 26" varmint with criterion oversized ground recoil lug and trued barrel nut
3 port (angled ports) brake-I made it.

Manners T5 stock:$500 OBO
Stock- cheek piece was in-letted to be able to remove the bolt from the action
Glass and pillar bedded- Glass bedding was removed ahead of recoil lug to work with the barrel nut
Blind box with factory remington floor plate
Action screws

SOLD WTB Tremor3s

Looking specifically for MK5 3.6-18 but might consider a S&B US 5-20 T3, NF 4-20 T3 or ZCO 4-20 T3. Illuminated or not as long as price is right. Established members only. I have a MK5 3-18 H59 I could trade you if you wanted to do so as well. No steiners or Burris please,

If you have a 5-25 VUDU in T3 i would trade straight across for my H59 VUDU that's listed.

Thanks
