You guys ever find yourself refining your zero almost every match. Like 2/10th windage and maybe the same elevation?

The floating dot on my vortex is tough to see sometimes and think that and being human is what I’m having. Some days better than others.

Anyways, just wondering if it’s just me or others. Shooting Vudoo’s and Lapua Center X. Same lots. Chronos well, groups no issues. Just moving groups to punch USBR targets seems to be my norm.

Does anyone have experience with an SFP ATACR in 4-16x50? I know most people prefer the FFP model, but my eyes have a hard time seeing FFP reticles at low power.

I have seen many positive reviews for the 4-16x42 ATACR in FFP ..... But I have seen almost nothing on the 4-16x50 SFP model, and I am wondering if the SFP is just as good optically?

The scope will be going on an AR10 in 308 ... So I believe 16x power will be sufficient.

I will mostly use it for fixed target shooting ... and possibly (but rarely) move it onto a hunting bolt rifle (also in 308).

I know the ATACRs are awesome scopes, but I have heard of tunneling issues on some models in the low power range.

If anyone has experience with this SFP scope, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

I bought a brand new DPMS Panther several years ago from a dude whose wife insisted he sell it the day he brought it home. The gun sat idle in my safe or a long time until I was inspired to go on a hog hunting trip and had a three months to decide what I was going to bring. Then it hit me. AR10 (actually LR-308). Upgrades: 20 inch stainless barrel, trigger, nickel boron BCG, Magpul PRS stock, 16 inch handguard, ambi charging handle, adjustable gas block. You might say I went whole hog.

Those were expensive upgrades for a mostly pedestrian, unremarkable AR-10. No regrets. I shot mostly Nosler Accubond 165 gr. The swine were dropping dead in their tracks. I also shot some Barnes Vortex 150 gr. It performed well but the Nosler was noticeably more lethal. I had never been hunting with an AR before and I was transformed. Before that I never really considered the AR platform in any caliber a credible hunting rifle.

I had so much fun I signed up for another hunt. This time at night. I added a thermal scope and suppressor. Nothing pumps my nads more than hunting these vile creatures at night suppressed.

This customized DPMS has been on four hunts now and I haven't had a lick of trouble with it. Even suppressed.

Wondering if anyone has encountered a situation like this...

I bought some Lapua brass for my .223. I have reloaded this brass 5 times. My reloading process includes, de-prime, anneal, wet tumble, full resize, mandrel, prime, and load. After the 5th firing, I found one of my brass broke in half in the wet tumble. Later, when i got to the mandrel stage, i found four of my brass collapsing at the shoulder. At this point, i retired the whole batch of 50 Lapua Brass due to safety concerns.

As for the loads themselves, I am running 24.3gr of IMR 8208 in order to push 80gr Berger VLDs at 2940fps. My barrel is a 1:7 twist at 28" bull barrel. I observe my brass after each firing and have never seen any signs of over pressure. When the brass is ejected after firing, it is barely warm at all.

I have other brass from Lapua and Peterson for my 6.5 creedmoor. I am able to get up to 10 loads from each. But for my .223 Lapua Brass, it seems i am lucky to get 5 reloads.

Any thoughts?

OK I have what is supposed to be a Palmetto upper. I have bought a set of go nogo gauges to try and start being more meticulous about what I have bought before I shoot them. So putting the go gauge in the chamber and putting the BCG in battery it is flush with the end of the upper reciever. The problem is the No Go gauge does the same thing. Now I have a Wilson upper here and the go gauge works with the BCG in battery and the end is flush with the upper. The No Go however does not allow the BCG to go into battery and the BCG extends past the end of the upper reciever. In the mean time I also took the barrel off and cleaned things and used some of that Mil Spec moly grease for reassembly and torqued to 50 lbs. I am not real impressed with the kind of cheesy aluminum barrel nut and how the handguard mounts to it.

How do I determine if it is the bolt, BCG or barrel to receiver fitup that is the problem? I don't mind getting tools and gauges to figure this out I just don't want to jump in and start buying things without a reason to do so though.

The New York City Council is begging an appellate court to authorize more than 800,000 foreign nationals to vote in the city’s municipal elections.
In January 2022, Democrats on the 51-member New York City Council approved an ordinance to give more than 800,000 foreign nationals with green cards, visas, and work permits the opportunity to vote in citywide elections so long as they have resided in the city for at least 30 consecutive days.
Following lawsuits over the ordinance, the New York Supreme Court in June 2022 ruled that giving local voting rights to foreign nationals violated the state’s constitution, which explicitly reserves voting for American “citizens.”
In February, that ruling was upheld by the New York Appellate Division.
On Tuesday, New York City Council spokesperson Rendy Desamour announced that councilmembers are pleading with the Appellate Division for the Second Judicial Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York to override both rulings and allow the council to start implementing the ordinance.
“Today’s filing to appeal the Second Department’s recent decision seeks a determination from the state’s highest court that the law is consistent with the state constitution, election law, and the municipal home rule law,” Desamour said:

Empowering New Yorkers to participate in our local democratic process can only strengthen New York City by increasing civic engagement. We look forward to the Court of Appeals’ consideration of the Council’s appeal.

As Breitbart News noted, the ordinance was set to massively influence local elections while diluting the votes of American citizens living in the city. In 2021, for instance, Mayor Eric Adams (D) won the Democrat mayoral primary by less than 7,200 votes.
Former councilman Rev. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) said that the ordinance would dilute the votes of citizens while shifting electoral power to foreign nationals with ties to the United Nations, Wall Street, and the global financial system which has long been based in New York City.

I'm up and running just fine, on the device and the app. I just have one question (so far). When I delete sessions in the app or on the device, and sync them, the deleted sessions go away in the app, but stay in the "History" menu function in the Garmin. I can go into each history session on the Garmin and delete them one at a time, but I can't seem to find a way to purge all historical sessions quickly and/or easily. Has anybody figured this out? Just asking before I submit an enhancement request to Garmin.
