Prone: I can clean a stage (not always but CAN go 10/10)

Standing/Kneeling: I can ZERO a stage. Lots of wobble on the positional stages. I was working on this last night and couldn't figure out if I should "Pin" the rifle or "Free Recoil" touch it as little as possible. I could minimize movement with the free recoil aka "dont touch the damn thing" method but that seems just wrong (and makes spotting impacts a PITA). I can't figure out how to "secure" the rifle so that wobble is minimized shooting off various objects like PRS Baricade, Bus Windows, Cattle Gates etc. Pushing (Down) on scope doesn't really help, neither does the pushing on the front bridge. Any tips for the clueless?

Otherwise I'll just become match director, make every stage prone and win.

Did find my OG Gamechanger was not heavy sand fill, and that seemed to help some...but I have a long way to go.

This is a backup rifle that I am not going to shoot. It's a BAT EXS action with both the BMG 50 bolt and Cheytac bolt. It has a Mirage ULR 18" rail, Jewel trigger, and is bedded in a Manners Gen 2 ELR stock. I have 120 rounds on the Cheytac bolt and 15 rounds on the BMG 50 bolt. 135 rounds total on the action. EXS actions and Manners ELR stocks are hard to find. (barrel, bipod, and optics in the picture not included)

BAT EXS w Cheytac bolt $3100.

I have a Bartlein 1.850 - 33" B2B barrel chambered in a 375 Cheytac variant / wildcat I can sell it with the rifle for extra $$$$.... (was on the rifle) I have brass - Custom Dies - and load data for it, along with a second Bartlein 40" B2B blank. Barrels are ideal for 390gr. A-tips. Wildcat cartridge shoots them @ 2985fps with 120gr. of Retumbo / 115gr, H1000. Cartridge was designed by Andy Hawkins at Hawkins Precision in Colorado Springs.

Hello fellow Hiders. I’ve been cleaning out my reloading room and have way more factory ammo than I can shoot any time soon. I’m trying to find the most cost-effective shipping manner and not having much luck.

Are you all using FedEx, UPS, or USPS? Which service is best for bulk, and does that mean using their boxes and keeping it under a max weight? I used to ship through UPS but their prices have been high on my recent orders so I’d like to explore alternatives.

Why is there not more out there on the .338 Razorback? I've got one and it's quieter than any of my 300 Blackouts and my 8.6 blackouts. Way easier to load for than the 8.6. Is it because the .427 bolt face? I'm really wanting to build one in a bolt gun but the bolt face has been an issue.

I generally don’t see doctors, seldom at least. But I was having chest pain last month so my wife talked me into care now, they ran an ekg which was fine but recommended I go to the hospital immediately. I did so and they took my blood pressure, oxygen level, 3 blood tests, and an ekg. I wasn’t admitted and spent 3 hours in the exam room. Good news is with the exception of slightly high blood pressure everything was normal. I made an appointment with a cardiologist in case, did the stress test and he said I’m fine. My issue is the care now ekg was $185, the cardiologist with all the tests and EKG’s was about $500, and the hospital was $6000 and after insurance I’m due for $4000. The blood tests they ran cost $200 at quest, the ekg going rate seems to be $185, so I’m being asked to pay basically $5600 for using a exam room for 3 hours and have my blood pressure taken. I’m not cheap and normally don’t bitch about bills but this just seems excessive compared to the same test any where else. Is this something I can or should try to dispute or just shut the hell up and write the check?

The damn brake is ON there, man. Scared I will eff something up if I go full-retard on it. Don’t have a barrel vice nor any vice that is accessible (long story, garage is full of remodeling material).

My brother swears it’s pinned, as he had a gunsmith remove his on the exact same model. I don’t really believe him, as he isn’t exactly a gun guy. And I don’t see anything about pinning the brake on any sales pages for just the brake, which obv you can buy separately.

Don’t see any physical evidence that it’s pinned, either.

I would see zero reasons to pin a brake on an 18” barrel, but hey, I am not Mr. Semi Auto. More of a bolt guy.

If it isn’t pinned, my plan is rosin on barrel, apply strap wrench to barrel with wrench on brake.

I’ll contact Armalite, but obv they aren’t open on the weekend.

This is a picture of my T1X I dropped into my stock. I had to do some minor inletting in the magwell area which took about 10 minutes with a little file work. Also just a smidge in the bolt release area. If anybody wants to use one of these for their T1X I am willing to do the minor inletting adjustments free of charge.

Hello I have a Bergara B-14 HMR in 308 that consistently shoots groups of 1.5 MOA or larger i have tried different factory match grade ammo mostly 168 grain. I have tried other bullet weights but they all shoot about 1.5 MOA. I have a background in marksmanship both in military and police work and can shoot solid 0.3-0.5 MOA groups with my other precision rifles. I sent the Rifle back to Bergara they said it was a copper fouling issue and re-crowned the barrel. even after they sent it back it still shot the same 1.5 MOA groups with match grade ammo. I am torn on what i should do has anyone else had this issue. I do not reload ammo unfortunately but they advertise the rifle will shoot at least 1 MOA with good quality factory ammo. Any help would be great before i just sell the rifle and stick with just my Tikka T3X Tac A1

Sooo I wanted another 308 rifle, and was pondering back and forth between going Aero, PSA, or buying something used off here. My financial priorities do not align with mid to high tier 308AR/AR10's so under $1500 but closer to $1000. This would not be precision focused and will wear a 1-4/1-6 LPVO for general fun steel shooting or the occasional hog/coyotes. I know a decent bit about the variations and differences between the 308AR patterns and the nuance to getting them to run right. In that learning journey I've also learned quite a bit about how PSA has screwed the pooch on a reliable out of the box rifle, but that correcting those issues isn't always that hard, provided you end up with a rifle that doesn't shoot.

I was leaning more towards the Aero, but PSA had a shot show sale, and I ended up with the 18" upper build kit that has everything besides the lower for $600 shipped. Bought a blem lower for $100 shipped (plus $25 for my ffl transfer fee). So I'm sitting at $725 shipped for a complete rifle. This is just an experiment to dick around and get a 308AR to run well.

I'm not really trusting of the way PSA set up the rifles, so I did buy some upgrades to put on it. However, I did want to actually give the rifle a go and see if it: 1.) Reliably functions 2.) How accurate, or lack thereof, it is 3.) Felt recoil/general shoot-ability.
Before I start shooting, I was going to take a few measurements to see how "in spec" it is and what specs they're using for my specific rifle. I'll check:
-Inside depth of buffer tube
-Length and weight of my buffer
-Gas port diameter
-Gas tube length and position in relation to cam pin cutout in the upper.
-How far back the BCG rides in comparison to the lower buffer tube ear area.
-General fit/finish
Once I get it put together, I'm gonna lube it up and run a few different factory rounds through it and see how she goes. I'll try to get a "feel" for recoil and how it shoots, obviously any function issues, and some basic accuracy tests.

After that, I'll put on the upgrades and reassess. So far that is:
-Superlative arms AGB
-308 carbine buffer tube, 5.4oz carbine buffer, and 308 buffer spring; all from Armalite.
-If the gas tube is too short, I'll also get the proper Armalite carbine(midlength) gas tube which is just over a 1/4" longer.
-Another addition, since midlength gas on an 18" barrel sucks, is cut and rethread to 16". Luckily my buddy works at a machine shop so he can do it for some beer. Possibly chuck it on a lathe and take some weight off the barrel since these PSA ones are pretty heavy too, but we'll see.

Since PSA runs Toolcraft nitride BCG/Bolt, I wasn't planning on upgrading that provided I don't have issues.

Can anyone think of anything else to check/measure? Any additions you'd make besides what I have? Maybe @mtrmn can assist.

For a loosely inspired M24 build do you guys see any advantage or disadvantage to a new Remington 700 ADL in 30-06? I was thinking basically I'd have a 700 action for $500 or so, it would be a long action, and later I could rebarrel it in 308 if I wanted. However since I have a Garand I already load for 30-06 so maybe keep it 30-06 but a M24 profile barrel later.

Does this make any sense at all as a starting point? Before anyone says anything, I do not wish to buy a used rifle.
