I sold more than 50 of my 150 firearm collection while living an AZ. Most of these are the optics that were mounted on those firearms. Anyone have an MPA BA Youth comp chassis laying around collecting dust?

I searched, and the most recent thread was from 2020. Battery technology has evolved since then.

Looking to purchase a new chainsaw - either 16 or 18" bar. I"m already into the Ryobi battery eco system, so I have been looking at their 40v saws.

I did own a 16" Ryobi gas saw 4 or so years back. It ran like a champ until I let the gas sit for 6 months. Now it is a paper weight even after I replaced the carb, lines, and spark plug. No start at all.

I live in a rural area on a very small farm = mini farm.

Hoping to find a quality saw via Black Friday sale that I will use maybe 2 to 3 times a year at most.

If I go gas, I will be more diligent this time and run it out after use.

I have no loyalty to brand. TIA for your input.

I bought these and a prefit 6.5C barrel a few years ago, but put the project aside. I was looking around and it seems ARC doesn’t sell the Archimedes anymore, I assume the new action is the new hotness. On the BARLOC, they don’t sell it anymore. Is it still relevant and useful? I didn’t see any posts on it recently?

Just spun up a new Bartlein (30 in) .338 LM with my son while he's home for the holiday and gonna do some load workup.
We'd been using N565 with 300's to date (300 A-Tips) in the old barrel, he has Berger 300 Hybrids and N570 which I hadn't been able to find previously (had been using H1000 and Retumbo)

Vhitavouri's load data has min/max over a mile wide- from 65 to 85 grains. We do typical OCW workups usually, for those of you using this bullet/powder combination where would you start and what increments to work up?

Hey guys, I have a gen1 Ruger American in the Pacific Northwest. It's a hard use hunting gun and it's pretty much always wet. These things have terrible rust protection. I'm super diligent about wiping it down and blowing it off with compressed air and all that stuff, but no matter what it still rusts a little bit.

Was sitting there thinking about how this cheap rifle really isn't worth getting cerakoted or anything like that when I glanced over at my daughter's camo shotgun. And then I remembered the gun wraps.

Do any of you have experience with them? I'm sure I could install them well. I'm good at that kind of stuff. But I can't really decide if this would be a genius plan or if it is super cheesy. I also wonder how they feel in your hand, especially since it's wet around here all the time. Anyway, the price is right so I'm thinking about it. If I don't do this I probably won't do anything so that's the other option. I've even considered getting out a can of spray paint.

What do you guys think about this?

Hey guys, I've got a review here that I hope some of you will find helpful when shopping for new hearing protection.




For the past couple of years I've been using the Howard Leight Impact Sport electronic earmuffs, but recently I wanted to find something new. The muffs made my ears quite warm on hot days, plus they became uncomfortable later in the evening after a long day of shooting. I started hunting around for a new solution and came across the Gunsport PRO GSP•1 ($449 MSRP) and GSP•15 ($499 MSRP) electronic earplugs made by Etymotic. Being something of an audiophile, I was already familiar with Etymotic products, but was unaware that they had made a foray into the firearms hearing protection industry. I tried searching for a few reviews, but came up with basically nothing, it seemed like no one on any of the gun forums had tried them. Therefore, I contacted Etymotic and asked if they would be willing to ship a pair to me for an evaluation, which I'm glad to say they agreed to.




Etymotic decided to send me their GSP•15 model, which differs slightly from their GSP•1 model, but I'll get to that later. When I opened the box, I found that they came with a manual, warranty information, batteries, case, cleaning tools, filters, and an assortment of tips. I quite like the case, it's sturdy and seems pretty durable. The batteries were also a nice surprise, I was expecting to have to go out and purchase a set of batteries myself.



To operate them, you insert the air activated batteries and close the battery door. The plugs are always on as long as the battery door is closed, so to turn them off, simply leave the batter door cracked open. Even so, these batteries self deplete over time, so their life is limited once you remove the seal over the air ports.




I was somewhat worried about tip variety, as earplugs heavily rely upon the seal made inside your ear to help block sound. Without a proper seal, sound can leak through and the plug's efficiency is drastically diminished. Thankfully the largest foam tips sealed very well, so I had no issues with that. I could've used some of the smaller tips as well to get a deeper fit, but I found that they weren't quite as comfortable, but your mileage may vary. With the tips I used, I was able to complete an entire day without the plugs fatiguing my ears, which is not something I can say about regular earmuffs.

Now, how do they actually work? I'm pleased to report that they work EXTREMELY well. When in amplification mode, you pick up on the tiniest sounds, yet are still protected from loud blasts when firing. The sound cutoff is actually more of a squelch, which I thought was odd at first, but it gets the job done. And the amplification is a lot more sensitive than I had imagined as well. Not a very scientific test, but I stood on the second floor of my house, next to the stairs, while my wife was down in the living room. She tried whispering under her breath and I could still hear her. The amplification feature is extremely handy for law enforcement, as you'll be able to hear subject's conversations when usually you would be out of earshot. You can also keep your radio turned down practically as low as it will go and you'll still be able to hear it, while those around you will not.

When you flip the switch to "normal", the amplification stops and you're able to hear at a close to regular level. I could carry on conversations with those around me without shouting, which is nice. Etymotic markets this feature as useful for use around loud machinery, but I didn't get to test the plugs in this environment, so I'll leave it at that.

These electronic earplugs also turn into regular earplugs when unpowered, so you're still protected should they happen to run out of juice during the course of fire.

The two major downsides that I see are that they're expensive, $499 is getting up there in price for hearing protection, and that the batteries only last for 3-4 weeks, so you'll need to always keep a pack of batteries in your range/patrol bag. Overall, I really like these plugs and will continue to use them. They're small, so they take up less space in my bag. They work well, I feel that the blast cutoff is faster than my current earmuffs and the amplification is more sensitive. And they're comfortable, I can use them all day and they allow a better cheek weld with certain rifles/shotguns.

Bundled items:

BCM upper, .300 BLK Criterion Core 10.5” barrel with BCM headspaced bolt from Criterion, and 9.3” Geissele MK8 handguard with Geissele gas block - $480

BCM upper is like new, the Criterion barrel has 150-200 rounds through it at the most. Used it as a backup for my main squeeze during training, but it’s been sitting in the safe ever since. Core Series barrels are a 2-3 month wait (at least). BCM upper is thermal fit to the barrel prepped with AeroShell, barrel nut torqued to 40ft-lbs, handguard bolts torqued to 5ft-lbs, and gas block is not pinned but torqued to 25in-lbs with Loctite 243 on the threads. I have a 7.62 HUXWRX QD muzzle brake that I might be inclined to sell with this as I may replace it with the new 6mm model.

San Tan billet upper with forward assist and 11.5” San Tan Wedgelock handguard - $125

This has a slight rattle can paint job on the upper. The handguard alignment pin did not quite align with the upper. I aligned the handguard with the upper using a tapped it on not realizing that they were not aligned. This forced the pin into the upper and there’s no removing it. Also the pin started a slightly new path into the handguard. The handguard is brand new other than the pin “realignment. I am not selling this as a result, I’m selling it due to the weight of the barrel nut – it’s just too heavy when combined with a Law Tactical folder and I’m now used to Geissele’s feather light barrel nut. That being said, most people really love the wedgelock design.

3.9” Sig Sauer slide with Faxon threaded barrel and Sig Romeo Pro red dot - $450

Slide is the older dovetail rear sight model so the Sig Romeo dot is ideal as it is built to align with the stock front sight. The slide is “used” but includes all internals. The optic and barrel have maybe 50 rounds on them. I run Acros on everything now and the Romeo Pro just wasn't my thing, so I don't need this slide or optic anymore.

Brand new outside of some prep grease on the threads. Turns out I don't have a single handguard that fits this except the wedgelock which I am willing to bundle this with instead of the ST upper. Really want to keep this but I already got a new upper for my RIS III.
