SOLD Manners PRS-TCS

Up for sale is a Manners PRS-TCS stock in Midnight Camo. Item is in good condition with the only modification being a slightly filed mag latch for using a CDG action with AW mags. There is a blemish on the underside of the buttpad assembly as shown in the pics.

It will come with the OEM 5rd AICS mag, factory ARCA rail with weights, a 360 Precision ARCA rail as shown in the pictures and at least 2 rear weights (I may have 3 total if I can find it) and the associated hardware that originally came with the stock.

Price is $1300 shipped in the lower 48. I prefer to deal in Zelle or Paypal. Reason for selling is that ive decided to try a different setup for my match rifle. Any questions feel free to ask away!

Relentless carbon ring

I have a custom built 300 PRC built by Randy Melvin of Bull Mtn Rifles. Incredibly reputable gunsmith but has since retired. Last year the carbon ring was so bad it pulled bullets from the casing when ejected prior to firing. This year I’ve cleaned with thorough clean, butch’s, Montana extreme, and boretech eliminator along with other lower end products. The gun is built on a Borden LRX action with a lilja barrel. When functioning correctly it’s a dream but honestly I’m in a love hate relationship with the thing. I bought a repaint to confirm the issue. The barrel is spotless. After scrubbing and soaking for 6 days the carbon ring was mostly removed. 7 shots later it’s back in full force. Question now is should I have it reamed out a bit more for tolerance issues or keep scrubbing. It has never seen a factory load. All loads have been with either ADG or Peterson brass, H-1000 powder, either Winchester lrm or CCI magnums. Cases were trimmed to sammi specs. Please advise!

Any of you Cowboy shooters out there... .38-40?

There is a real dearth of reloading data for the .38-40 or .38WCF cartridge. And lots of 'Don't bother."

But I have a 1915 Colt SAA I just picked up for the express purpose of shooting, and I am trying to confirm a load I plan on using.

I have a ton of Unique powder, and as it dates back to the early 1900's, it would have been fine in an old wheelgun.

I also have a lot of .401 swaged 200 Gr. SWC's, which I think will make a nice plinking load.

The load data for the 180 and 187 lead bullets starts at 6.5gr Unique and max's out about 7.4gr. I've seen people saying they are running 9.0gr in rifles... but that seems way too high.

None of my reloading manuals have .38-40 with a 200 gr bullet, either. But thinking that with a 200gr bullet I want to run about 6.8 - 7.0 gr .of Unique.

Anyone have a good and tested load for Unique and a 200 gr lead in an SAA 1st Gen??

Gunsmithing Questions about brakes and muzzle threading

I recently purchased a 6.5cm takeoff Tikka Varmint barrel someone had threaded and had a custom made brake put on. I don't know if I will like the brake, it reminds me of the factory Savage ones. All my current brakes are 5/8x24 and they go on maybe a full turn or so before I feel resistance.

So a few dumb questions: How can I determine the thread pitch on this muzzle? Do you think this style of brake would be effective and worth keeping or is it just a loudener? If I do keep it how would I time it, a crush washer or shims or something?

This came on a B&T can that I have, I don't run a lot of surefire muzzle brakes so I swapped it out for what I do use.

The Rotex-SF HUB is fully compatible with all 1.375x24TPI “HUB” compatible suppressors on the market today and is constructed of Titanium and stainless steel components. This HUB is compatible with all B&T Rotex flash hiders, as well as all SureFire SOCOM flash hiders, muzzle brakes and WarComp hybrid muzzle devices. The HUB is simply threaded into compatible suppressors and snugged up with a spanner wrench. HUB assemblies can be semi-permanently attached using Rocksett or other thread locking compounds should the end user desire.
