Zealot Rifle Chassis by KMW

KMW’s Zealot - LE rifle chassis was shown in the wild for the first time at the 2021 Precision Rifle Expo in Blakely, Georgia this weekend.

20211027_180129.jpg

This chassis design reflects the same philosophies that I embodied in the very successful SENTINEL Combat Stock plus a few more that I could not execute in a fiberglass stock.

The Zealot places your barreled action lower in the stock than any other chassis while delivering totally new design features that no other existing chassis or conventional stock has.

FEATURES:

Z-Latch
TM locking hardware - Totally new locking system for LOP and Cheek Rest adjustments. No tools needed. No loose and rattling components. Nothing sticking out to snag on gear. Nothing to loosen. Will not accidentally disengage during movement or while on the gun.
20211027_175430.jpg

Captv-MagTM – This integrally machined feature is the same already proven feature in the new KMW DBM bottom metal. The Captv-MagTM system prevents AICS style magazines from over-traveling into the bolt path and binding the gun.

New Split Hemisphere forend design provides a totally enclosed handguard easy installation and removal of your barreled action into chassis while retaining the lowest CG of any chassis on the market.

I wanted to avoid any proprietary accessory attachment requirements so I chose to include the proven M-LokTM slot standard to allow you to configure as needed from the huge selection of M-Lok accessories on the market.

Main chassis body is one piece/monolithic to maximize rigidity and strength while avoiding a bunch of fasteners to hold the forend in place like others.

The forend is wider and blended to be more friendly to your hands while also sitting in and riding through bags.

20211101_104403.jpg

A lot of chassis on the market look like the pistol grip was simply stuck there as an afterthought by leaving a lot of square edges and lines that are very unfriendly to your gun handling and comfort if you are on the gun for extended periods.
A good bit of thought and work went into the area where the grip merges with the Zealot chassis to insure your best hand position and comfort even if you add another aftermarket grip*.
*Accepts any M4/AR pistol grip including the excellent MDT vertical adjustable grip.
20211027_175446.jpg

Accepts all Accuracy International AICS style magazines and AICS clones.
*Will also accept AW style magazines

Short Integral ARCA rail just in front of magazine well fits RRS Anvil and similar clamps.
I purposefully avoided an integral ARCA extending down the bottom of the forend. Future "competition" version may include one.

5 flush cup locations on back half of stock that feature GrovTec’s proven limited rotation, stainless material and black oxide finish. Much better long term wear than flush cup points machined into an aluminum chassis body. Two MagPul flush cup mount points with M-Lok anchors allow you to place front positions where you want.

SPECS

Chassis weight: 4.7 pounds

L.O.P. Range: 12.8” – 14” *

Folding Butt Stock on the L.E. model. Folds over most bolt handles.

Forend Length: 13.75”

Forend Width: 2.25”

Everything except the top hemisphere of handguard (6061-T6) is machined from 7075-T6

First offering will be Short Action (Rem700 and customs on same footprint) – Right hand. Next will be left hand/S.A. then Long Action Magnums.

Colors: Matte Black, O.D.Green or FDE hardcoat anodized.

More photos and information will be on the KMW website (www.KMWLRS.com) and KMW FaceBook page later this week.

Pricing will be announced within the next couple of weeks.

The Zealot – L.E. chassis should be available for ordering and shipping Q1 of 2022 which is getting here quickly!

Why the Little Things Matter

I've spent the better part of six months gathering data and putting together a video about why the small things matter. It included two small things I do in my reloading process that have tangible results, and also included data on the nearly 200 rounds worth of testing I did to support. However, it was way too freaking long, so I split it in two. I just published the first part of the video, and augmented it with some additional content. Sorry, the two small things will have to wait for the second "half" to get edited and augmented :)

Rifle Scopes S&B DTII+ turret does not zero

I have a 3-20x50 PMII Ultra Short LP from Schmidt and Bender.

The windage turret is the ST II ZC LT.

I have issues zeroing it. The cross hair still moves after having loosened both screws and I wonder what I did wrong.

Zeroing the elevation turret was no problem.

Any ideas or tricks you know I could try?
Otherwise I will ship it in for service.

SOLD Aero 308 build and large frame parts stash, mags, tactical brass, etc

What to say about this . . .

When I first got into guns, ARs, and silencers, I was determined to make a large frame run as well as a suppressed small frame. Just go shoot, no drama. Don't have to clean it after 100 rounds or stop and adjust the gas block or destroy brass and eat gas. Just runs.

It took a long time and many iterations of parts but I finally found a winner- criterion rifle length 308, oss can/muzzle device, a5 tube and standard a2 buffer with a springco spring, sentry gas block.

This gun just runs. No drama. Once I found the winning combo though I realized I don't even really like large frames. More of a bolt guy. Just couldn't give up the challenge.

Anyhow I'm getting out of large frames.
Comes with my tactical brass catcher, 6 mags, extra barrels, silent capture spring if you ever want to play with that (I wouldn't) extra BCG, fancy single stage trigger tech green trigger (these are like $300) and anything else I might find.

Kinda sad to watch this thing go but I'm trying to focus on the things I actually shoot and enjoy, which is basically 9mm pistols and bolt action rifles. Everything else is going.

It's no show piece - vice mar on the top from clamping it like an idiot while I mounted a muzzle device. A bit of extra loctite dripping out from securing the handguard fasteners.

Basically this is a good head start for folks wanting to DIY and blast pigs or eat up some milsurp or whatever you're into with a 308 gas gun. Shoots great, it could do anything.

I'm not really sure if I want to ship or not, would prefer face to face in TN but might ship individual to FFL or even FFL to FFL if you pay for it.

I also don't need to give it away so I'm going to price it low and hang tight. If nobody wants it there's room to keep it around. Won't split anything.

Thanks for looking.

$800 plus shipping.

Newly Released Infiray Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2—Huge Upgrades over the V1

Introducing the InfiRay Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2: The Ultimate Thermal Tool

The InfiRay Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2 is an absolute game changer in the thermal optics world. This new V2 model cranks up everything you loved about the original RH25 and makes it even better. Whether you’re running it handheld, helmet-mounted, or strapped to your rifle, the RH25 V2 delivers the versatility and performance you need, all in a compact, badass package.

What’s New with the RH25 V2?

The V2 isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a full-on evolution of what a thermal monocular should be:

Enhanced Image Quality: The RH25 V2 features an upgraded <15mK sensor, which means better detection, greater clarity, and sharper images, even when conditions get tough. Fog, rain, heat? No problem. This unit punches through it all.

Superior Clip-On Capability: Thanks to the massive 1440x1080 AMOLED display that’s 80% bigger than the V1, this thing holds up on scopes with up to 6x base magnification. Translation: crisp thermal imaging, even at long range. Perfect for those long-distance shots where every detail counts.

F1.0 Manual Focus Lens: With the new f/1.0 lens, you get total control over your focus. Whether you’re scanning wide or zooming in on a target, the V2 delivers sharp, clear visuals every time.

Mounting Options for Any Mission: Handheld, helmet-mounted, or rifle-mounted, the RH25 V2 can do it all. It’s compatible with the AC53 Obverse mount, Pictail adapter, and MQD mount, so you’re covered for whatever setup you need. Just keep in mind, the included picatinny mount isn’t QD, so grab some aftermarket gear if you want that fast-swap action.

Built Tough for the Field: The magnesium alloy housing keeps it lightweight but durable. This unit is built to survive long missions and harsh conditions, with USB-C for power and extended battery life that won’t let you down when things get intense.

Why You Need the Upgrade
If you ran the original RH25, you’re going to feel the difference right away. The improved thermal sensitivity and higher-resolution display mean sharper, more detailed images and better target identification, even in the worst conditions. Add in the bigger AMOLED screen and the improved sensor, and you’ve got a tool that doesn’t just perform—it dominates.
The RH25 V2 isn’t just a thermal monocular—it’s your go-to for detection, pursuit, and evasion, all in a package that fits in your hand or on your helmet.

If you need cutting-edge gear for hunting, tactical missions, or any adventure that demands top-tier thermal tech, the InfiRay Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2 delivers.

308 with accuracy/consistency issues

I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can help me decide my next move. I have a home built ar10 that is very inconsistent. Major parts are:

Aero m5e1 builder kit
Aero BCG
Rainier Ultramatch mod2 18" 1:10 308 barrel
Superlative arms gas block
Geissele ssae
Jp buffer system

When trying to work up a load for it I noticed it is wildly inconsistent. A few different times I found loads that shot really well on the initial test groups, but then would open up like crazy for no apparent reason. The most extreme example was a load that shot multiple .25 moa groups, and the next day when I set up to chrono it the same recipe measured over 3 inches on the first group, and never dropped below an inch again on further testing. I lapped the receiver and bedded the barrel. I double checked all torque values. I also used go/no go gauges to check headspace. I tried shooting it dirty as well as after a deep clean. After switching powders and projectiles multiple times, I never have found a way to make it consistent, whether good or bad. I tried shooting a box of berger 175s to see what it would do with factory ammo, and it shot an average over 10 rounds of almost 4 inches.

So the spot I'm in now is I'm wondering how to fix this rifle. Maybe Rainier barrels just suck, and I need to rebarrel it. I'm more inclined to think something else is contributing to this though. I've had several people tell me I'm lucky if I get an ar10 under 2 inches, but I've seen enough examples to the contrary to think this isn't the maximum potential of the rifle.

One thing that may or may not be related is a weird symptom I'm seeing on the base of some of my cases. I see what looks like a smear of brass near the primer. Something is gouging into it and pushing the brass into a little bump that I can flake off with my fingernail. The fact that it only happens to some of the brass and not all tells me something inconsistent is happening that may be related in some way to my accuracy issues. So do I just need to get in line for a high end custom barrel or is there something else to look at? Thanks!

I have here an unfired upper with Noveske 12.5" mid length stainless barrel, Noveske handguard, and FCD upper. Will also come with the SF 4-prong muzzle device pictured and a BCM stubby foregrip that's not pictured.
Willing to part with it for $700 shipped.
Will also trade for a KAC RAS FF rifle length HG, Krieger/Lilja/Bartlien 20" medium profile 5.56 barrels, or other SAM-R parts....

Built this as a general purpose upper, but I have too many uppers. Trying to shed a few things to make some money back and work on other projects.

Precision Gas Gun Builders

Hi there SH -

Looking for some input on AR-15 and AR-10 platform custom AR rifle builders.

My number one criteria is finding the builder with a reputation for most accurate gas guns. So far, I only have 2 builders on my list.

SGT. of Arms
GA precision

Any suggestions for builders worth looking into would be appreciated.

Does anyone have real world experience with either builder in the small and large platform gas guns? If so, what sort of groups have you had? Probably going to get both but starting with the small platform

Thanks!

Straight walled wildcats

Hello all, I have a crazy idea brewing in my head and I'm hoping you all can help me out. Nothing original I'm sure as everything has been done before but my google and forum searches haven't given me answers yet. I recently moved to the peoples republic of Maryland, half the state is bottleneck friendly and the other half is straight walled only. Now I'm sure a 350 legend puts down white tails just fine but I'm not a big fan of any of the rifles chambering it. I've been spoiled by tikkas so a savage or franchi aren't really doing it for me. I'm also getting into suppressors, with that in mind, max range in the local deer woods is 100 yards if I'm lucky so subsonic is viable and attractive. However, me being a fan of long range shooting, I still want to be able to stretch its legs a bit and see what it can do at 500+.

I am thinking about building a new hunting rifle, potentially tikka or r700 based, short action, STRAIGHT WALL, SUBSONIC, and probably high bc big bore. I am looking at things like 338-223 straight/thumper, 375 whisper, 416 spike, things of that nature. I am thinking the super high bc will keep velocity up extending the max range of the subsonic loads, plus the big bore heavy bullets will still pack a punch on impact. My biggest concerns are bullet choices, specifically hunting bullets that will expand or at least reliably tumble at these low velocities, and head spacing since it will be a straight walled bolt gun. If it could be based off a belted or rimmed cartridge that might be easier for head spacing but I do fancy the idea of just cutting the neck off of easy to find 223 or 308 brass. I have seen hornady's new sub-x bullets which seem to fit the bill but they're not making any in 338, 375, or 416. The 30 cal sub-x in a 300blkout would be perfect but it's not straight walled... I am a novice reloader with plenty of my own loads worked up but this would be my intro into wildcatting.

Has anyone done anything similar, have any ideas, questions, comments, concerns, or warnings. Modern gun season ends this weekend so I have about a year to bring this to reality. Thanks in advanced

SOLD TMB muzzle Brake lightweight nut

Used strike without warning TMB
6.5 caliber
Stainless with cerakote
5/8-24
Install wrench included

The brake is hard on the cerakote, you will see in the photo there is several layers of cerakote applied. I would touch up the coating couple times a year.

This has had the lock nut collar machined down so it will work on any size barrel. No need to have your 1.25 straight contoured down with the TMb with this setup. The tuner portion no longer functions. This also lightens the weight for NRL hunter.
