I have a rebar-based target holder I use at my gun club's rifle range. It's maybe 4' wide. Most of my AR500 targets are hung by chains and S-hooks but they usually start walking down the crossbar one way or the other and eventually slide into other hanging gongs. It happens more with my smaller gongs as they jump and twist more from hits than the heavier 6" and 8" gongs. Any suggestions for trying to keep the chains in place?

What make / models would you recommend?

Presently have a 20” LWRCi R.E.P.R. in .308 Winchester which is grossly inaccurate for the money I paid.

Would’ve liked the SIX-8 A5 because it does look kewl, if not for anticipating the same issues above (“You don’t get it - it’s built as a 4 MOA combat rifle!”).

I’m not even sure which ones use proper 6.8mm SPC magazines.

My new scope and mount is set to arrive tomorrow and the first thing I plan to do is re torque my rail and then get it mounted and thread lock everything, and possibly even thread lock the turret screws (one review showed that they might come loose, but that may have been a one off). My question though is which thread locker should I use, at first I was just planning on blue loctite but now I have discovered a new (to me) product called vibra-tite and it looks like it may have some advantages over loctite. What do you think? Is blue loctite enough or should I find some vibra-tite? If so which kind?

On a related question, the scope rings require 18 inch pounds of pressure but I had a hell of a time finding a torque wrench or driver that would actually do 18 inch pounds, all I saw were marked in 5 inch pound increments so that I could have done 15 or 20 but not 18. Finally out of frustration I just bought an old school beam style torque wrench because I can eyeball 18 (it is marked in increments of 10 with hash marks every 2.5 and also in newton meters and 2 NM is damn close to 18 inch pounds). Are their any issues using the beam style over the more modern click style?

Bought these to try in Snowy Mountain and Hawkins Hunter bottom metal, Curtis would work, may rattle, MDT 5rd won't work, 3rd will fit flush but impossible to remove easily and AI 5rd hang way down. MDT are new, others were purchased used. I am trying to be fair and not lose too much money, IIRC, these are the prices I paid, if you can prove otherwise, I will sell them for exactly what I paid

Looking to pick up my first can (rimfire). Some of the local shops want to charge $100 for a transfer and looking online it seems like there's some decent options from places like Capitol Armory, Silencer Shop, Silencer Central etc. Any cons to just ordering from one of them online? Any shop preferences or things I should have in mind?

Also, any good reason not to dump it into a trust while I'm at it?

I have a custom built, Piercision rifle for sale.

I built this rifle to bridge a gap from coyote hunting on up to mule deer. I have since built some specific hunting rifles and no longer shoot this rifle much and it just sits.
It shoots lights out and is definitely a 1/2 minute gun. I have a load built for it with 135 bergers and n565 running 3100fps and no pressure. Have taken several coyotes past 500 and my personal best coyote at 815 yards. Rifle has under 400 rounds through it and has plenty of life left!
Would like to sell it all. Brass dies rifle and berger bullets. Shipped from my ffl in Kansas to yours.

Hello, Friends.

A few months ago, I came across a very nice 1967 Model 70 Match Rifle. It has the beavertail stock, target barrel and a short rail up front. Been wanting one for several years and at last found one at a reasonable price. I have several pre-64s in my collection, but this configuration has always appealed to me.

When I took delivery, the first thing I had to do was get a scope on it. I had a set of bases for the Model 70, but these were a no-go. Neither pre- nor post-64 bases fit the rear holes.

I did some research and discovered my rifle was built on the 300 Holland length action and had the .437" hole spacing for the rear base.

EGW makes a picatinny base, but I wanted a more traditional look. Here are some pics of what I found that that fits this model Winchester 70.

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Camera Land NY and @gr8fuldoug! I called Camera land looking at a few options for a new scope. Somehow throughout the conversation, I brought up a problem that I had recently experienced with a manufacturer that unknowingly Doug had some experience with. He offered to reach out and see what he could do to help on my behalf, even though none of this was his fault or his responsibility. The next day I get an email from said company with an offer that made me sit back in my chair for a minute but absolutely made up for the run around that I had received previously. Needless to say I'm extremely thankful to Doug for his help and I also bought a new scope from his company while I was at it because along with obvious great customer service, they've got some great prices. Just for the record, I had never heard of Camera Land NY until this forum and had never known or spoken to Doug before rhe phone call. I just believe in the current economy that we live, good customer service and old fasshion care and decency should be applauded and that's the reason for this post!
