Not talking about cleaning the brake itself!

Bought a Dominus SR a while back. Still in jail.

Q: Which of their SR brakes catch the least patches within the brake itself when retracting the cleaning rod?

Or, put another way, which brake plays the nicest with cleaning patches/jags? Like when you’re cleaning the bore.

EDIT: Usually, I pop just the patch out of the bore and not the screwed-on thick bit of the spear-point jag, which is the diameter of the rod. As I retract the rod, the patch falls off. With a brake, the patch will probably(?) fall off within the brake.

I know I could probably just push the patch all of the way through the brake, but it’s be nice not to run the rod over the crown.

TBAC offers two different SR muzzle devices, a brake and a “non-timed” brake.

Note: I shoot 100% suppressed. So recoil reduction without a suppressor isn’t a factor for me here.

Regular brake, needs timing with peel washers (otherwise I look dumb at the range without the suppressor attached

)

Non-timed brake, just spin on

As someone who has never owned a brake, I have no experience cleaning a rifle with an attached brake. Obviously the brake will be red-locktited on, as per TBAC, so I’m not spinning it off each time I clean.

I imagine it’s easiest to fish stuck patches out of the the regular brake, but then (for looks in my case) it’s the fussiest to install.

I’d rather just get the non-timed brake and just spin it one without the peel washer dance, but it looks like it has the smallest interior volume and smallest port openings…but it has 8 ports vs 4.

Kinda dumb question here, splitting hairs, but hey, but I’m bored and my Dominus is calling lol. Humor me.

Anyone know of a way to mount an Accu-Tac bipod directly to an Anschutz rail? For example: bipod directly to a Foundation stock without using ARCA or picatinny in between. Just to get a lower profile. Thanks!

I was going to do a lightweight 6cm for mammoth but I will be the Tac shooter so plans shifted to a 223 build instead. This is a new assembly and ready to drop a trigger in and mount into your chasssis.

there seems to be a noticeable disconnect on several things that i read from different people i follow. i mostly watch tucker,napolitano and many that they both feature. eg macgrgor,ritter,sachs,several others. most seem to deny or downplay the threat from china. i happen to believe that chins is the biggest threat to america,except our own gov of course. what i hear from them about russia,ukraine,deep state,NWO,3rd world invasions,trump are well within what i know to be true from multiple sources. most place israel in the atrocity bunch with pol pot,hitler,stalin etc. not much discussion about long standing arab/muslim terrorism.
i guess my puzzlement is that commentary about those issues is not consistent with the denial of china being an active working threat. the fact that 3 of our last presidents were taking payola from china complicates the question. i have read the "100 year marathon" and believe it's content.
so,are "my guys" just wrong,under chinese influence,nieve? or,am i seeing an inconsistency that is not there?
doubts about one's belief system and accuracy of data intake can be helpful but need to be dealt with one way or the other.

Currently there is no governing body for ELR. Multiple scoring systems, target sizes and rules are used throughout the United States. For this reason I developed a ranking system for shooters to compare themselves directly on performance vs their competitors. Locations vary in difficulty by terrain, wind and other variables. Data has shown that a larger number of competitors equals a higher number of top competitors and will be rewarded slightly higher. There will be benefits and flaws with any ranking system. This ranking ultimately comes down to how well you performed against your competitors at a specific match. Currently 14 matches that meet the requirements are included in the ranking with top three scores for rank.

There are many locations that are now hosting ELR matches and hopefully this will help growth and attendance allowing more matches to be included in the rankings.

Hey all,

I am looking to put new glass on my rifle. 16" Wylde Criterion barrel, generally decent parts. Intended to be as much of a do-all as possible including NV use once nods are in the cards. The plan there is a piggyback red dot for passive aiming or quick transitions to up close if needed on any of this glass. I've been watching C_DOES as he seems to do the best reviews in terms of showing what things actually look like and does a very good job otherwise. He seems to really not like the Gen III, seemingly rightfully so based on the poor eyebox and performance at 10x. PLXc is lower mag, but seems pretty clear and is LIGHT. GLX and Credo seem close as well as the PST Gen II. Anyway, I'm looking for the best performance per dollar and as light as reasonably possible. My environment is out in the mountains out west, so the higher mag glass is appealing for sure. Hoping someone here has some experience to compare these and has an opinion that I can chat with.

What type of conditions will you typically shoot in? All conditions when paired with a dot
What are the typical distances you intend to shoot? Up to 600yds would be ideal
Are there any specific specifications you would like? FFP, a good reticle for quick corrections and general longer-range adjustments without having to dial, decent 1-2.5x for shorter shots when it might not be ideal to make with the piggy-backed dot.

Long time ago, I quit smoking. Went a day or two and switched to the Skoal.

Was chewing a tin a day, sometimes more.

Then I switched to the Zyns.

Now am off the Zyn. I’m good as far as the nicotine goes, but god damn if I can’t stop eating.

I hit the gym 4-5 days a week so that helps but how the hell do I get over these cravings of food.

I do chew a lot of gum, and that helps but basically gave up one habit for another.

So I’m trying to log in to Snipershide on my laptop (on my phone currently) it wants me to either login with google, email, or Facebook.
It won’t take my snipershide password, it won’t take my email password, and Facebook says it’s not available.
Could someone please explain to this Luddite Gen X’er how to log in?
Not real sure wtf was wrong with just using my email and snipershide password, but I’m old and out of touch and spend at least one hour a day wanting to punch some IT Snowflake right between the eyes……

I WAS thinking about something the other day.

Over on Rimfirecentral, there's a thread where everybody is trying to figure out what scope Joel, has on his rifle.

If you know, pipe up so I can go over there and make like I figured it out, and get points... lol.

Anyhow... Then I got sidetracked thinking about all the many variety of SHTF / EOTWAWKI movies and TV shows out there.
We keep seeing such a wide variety of firearms in them. (many without sights even)
However, the one that everyone (myself included if I'm honest) swears by for survival (the .22LR) is noticeably absent in every single one.

Saying goes something like this... "You can carry a couple bricks of .22 in a pack, and it will last you for years."

Nope. I don't recall ever seeing a rimfire rifle in a SHTF film or TV show. What gives?
We all know Hollywood gets most everything wrong about firearms anyway, but damn...
Where's the old fart walking the wasteland with his trusty little .22LR lever gun? Or 10/22, or Nylon 66, or Sears and Roebuck Model 25, or whatever...?

G'day;
Just looking to clarify some details on the Scope Mount used by the Mk22.
It's the Nightforce Ultramount I believe, in FDE with the RAP-i mount.
But I'd like someone to clear up for me;
What height is is? 1.54" or 1.93"?
Is it 20 MOA bias or 0MOA?
These are pretty expensive so I don't want to get it wrong.
