Leftist women and the LBGWYHONBBQ are panic buying guns.

To protect themselves from the rabid Trump supporters.

"I am thinking about carrying every day, said Ashley Parten, 38, a Douglasville, Georgia, resident who purchased stun guns for herself, her daughter and three nieces after the election. Parten, who is Black and bisexual, is also eyeing a maroon handgun that she plans on buying after taking a firearms class."

"...A few days after Trump’s first presidential win in November 2016, Parten said she was filling up with gas in Charleston, South Carolina, when a white man in a red Maga hat shoved her against the pump. She says she elbowed the man and then drove off. He told me that my N-word president couldn’t protect me any more, because it was Trump country,” she recalled."

First time prairie dog hunting

As the topic says, first time. I've read a bit, but it tends to come from either the centerfire crowd or the air rifle crowd - am more interested in those that hunt and put less emphasis on the specific tool.

My plan is a few workhorse ARs in 556 and a 22 air rifle and a 243AI for long, long pokes on dogs? I have a 6.5 grendel that could make the trip, if warranted - and could pivot to a whole new arsenal if there is some big aspect of this not yet considered. I am planning so scope up my ARs for this, and take rifles with 16+ inch barrerls - all suppressed.

The hunt will be late summer with a small group of friends, and none of us have hunted prairie dogs before, though all of us have hunted far larger prey on multiple continents.

Suggestions welcomed - preferably from people that have experience in prairie dog hunting.

Accuracy International AW and AT Chassis Question

Hey, all.

I have a question about the interchangeability of chassis parts between an older (1997) AIAW and a newer AIAT. Specifically, if one is a fixed butt stock and the other is a folder, would the butt frames be able to be taken off and swapped between the two, presuming both have screwed/pinned and bonded frames, and not welded. And if so, any recommendations on who might be able to do this, as well as install the old AW rear butt spike assembly onto one of the chassis (which will entail welding the support tube into the butt frame and cutting up the rear skin sides as well).

Thanks!

Why aren’t we seeing development of Grendel Case bolt/barrel extensions?

With the recent popularity of the ARC, and its adoption outside of NRA Match Rifle highpower shooting, I have to wonder why we have not seen any new designs around strengthening the bolt and barrel extension. It would seem to me reducing the number of lugs, and maybe changing some of the locking angles (not sure of the term here) could provide more meat around the bolt lugs where these seems to take the most beating.

I’m not sure just how common breaking lugs is with the ARC and how much is just internet hype/reposting, but were pushing the envelope of what a small frame can take, and in my mind that opens the possibility of improving the bolt and extension.

Have I missed something?

Rifle Scopes Bushnell Mped 3-18 vs SE 3-18

I’m looking a a new optic for my “dmr” I’ve decided on these two.

I don’t need anything higher end for this setup.

Does anyone have real world experience with the mped 3-18 yet? The specs look good. I’m not a huge fan of either reticle. But I can make either work.

Right now the SE’s can be had for around $600. I haven’t seen any sales on the mpeds.

The two other options I’ve considered are the xtr3 and the dmr3.

I don’t think I’ll like the xtr3, I’ve had the Steiner t6xi 3-18 on this rifle and I was not a fan of the reticle. It was extremely thin and hard to see below 12x. I’m afraid the xtr3 will be the same way.

The dmr3 is probably my main choice, but I’m not sure if I want to spend that much. I also want something illuminated. I do really like the g4p reticle. I feel the mped might be 90% of the dmr3 for less money. Which is the way I’m leaning.

So back to my biggest question. Real world experience with the mped 3-18.

Thanks for your input!

KRG Bravo recoil pad / spacer dimensions?

I've tried my best to search for the measurements and dimensions of the KRG Bravo recoil pad / spacer to see if those parts would 100% work on my Bergara HMR Pro, but haven't found anything. The measurements I took from my HMR Pro/Premier match up with Limbsaver's 10808 which seems to fit a lot of the Remington 700s

The template is 4.85" x 1.575"

My spacer measurements are 4.75" x 1.522"

Bolt holes are Center to Center: 3.12"

Bolt holes are 0.8" from the edges

Minimally obtrusive ear pro you can leave on for periods of time

So probably a neckband with 6-8 inch of wire to ear buds. Open to other ideas need 8 hours runtime I would think or replaceable rechargeable batteries. Ideally cut off loud noises but allow conversation much like my sordins.

Hey it's 2024 Bluetooth to answer my phone would keep them on my head. What's the quality lightweight comfortable item these days?

Suppressors Suppressors cause immediate cartridge corrosion??

Was shopping bulk ammo on the Wilson Combat website when I saw their claim that suppressors will cause brass-cased ammo to corrode so quickly and severely that it will be difficult to extract the cartridge within 48 hours. I don't know how else to say it. . . I'm skeptical. Seems like if this was really a thing, the armed forces would have switched entirely to nickel-plated cases or would have some strict guidance on not allowing a live round to remain in the chamber of a suppressed weapon for more than a few hours after the weapon was fired. But my first suppressor is still in jail, so what do I know?

Here's their claim and a photo posted on their site to back up the claim:
"Cartridges shown HERE were left in the chamber of a suppressed weapon for 48 hours after firing 5 previous rapid fire shots. Note the dramatic difference the corrosive effect of hot chamber ammonia has on a brass case compared to a nickel plated case. The nickel plated case extracted easily while the brass case was stuck in the chamber and was hard to extract."

So you're telling me. . . that in an otherwise clean gun with a suppressor, if I burn through 5 rounds rapid fire, and leave the sixth round chambered, that in 48 hours it's going to look like it was fished out of the lake from a boating accident years before?
