West Texas Ordnance 300 WSM 22" Bartlein 1-9 twist M24 contour, throated for heavies with a Hawkins 3 port muzzle brake blended. Shot amazing with 215 Bergers, 230 Berger OTM and 225 ELD's. Picture below was a final load with 215 Bergers and H4350 at 600 yards. Barrel has 212 rds on it and that load was around 2700 fps.

I tried to locate some reviews of this for use as cheap practice ammo, but was unable to locate anything. I decided to buy a case and take a risk as typically Swiss ammo is pretty good stuff (gp11). Turns out it runs sub moa at 100 yards from my 20" GA Precision. Not bad for $0.50 a round. Pictured a two five round groups of Saltech as well as a group of 168 grain fgmm for comparison.

I currently have a Bushnell MPED on a rifle that I use for PRS and NRL Hunter matches (6.5CM bolt gun). I know that the new Viper HD line is technically geared towards hunting, but the 5-25x50 seems to have all the features of the PST-II's (FFP and Xmas tree reticle). Seems like the only difference is the capped windage knob, which is a non-issue for my personal use.

Any thoughts on whether the Viper HD would be a step-up from the MPED? Or about the same? I have no issue with the MPED, but curious if I can get a decent amount of upgrade for a good price when the Viper HD goes on the super-duper mil-discounted sale.

I am looking at two different scopes, both by the same maker and they are comparable magnification but one is 56mm with a 34mm tube, while the other is lighter and has a 50mm objective lens and a 30mm tube, but less adjustment range.
The first is the Arken EP-5 5x25x56 and the other is the EPL-4 6x24x50.

Which is the better scope? And why?

Context:

Rifle I setup for bench rest. Used a crappy squeeze bag that I filled with sand in a ziplock, pushed out the air and cut slits in the squeeze bag and ran it on a rail changer. Worked great for what it was being stationary:

I got a little bored shooting paper and moved on to NRL/PRS. With "bench sand bag" removed, I need about 4.5+ pounds to find balance a few inches in front of the magwell. Rifle with bipod without sandbag is 11.6 pounds. Photo below is not the balance point. Just threw it on for illustrative purposes:

Need some advice to modify this Manner's stock to fit me right. I'm saving up for a chassis on a centerfire, so not ready to do that to this rifle or switch out the barrel. I realize both of these would give me better options but it's currently a shooter in this state. I've already added an oversized steel compensator for weight, but it's not enough. I've got a 14" Area ARCA coming to move the bipod forward more to help counterbalance with barricade stop. I feel like my only options are:

Purchase some brass stock and attach to an ARCA clamp, but I think it'd be too significant in size to make the weight and will jack with a game changer. Tungsten isn't realistic given cost.
This is probably blasphemy, but I could take either a large forstner bit or hole saw and cut into the butt stock to hog out some weight... nobody panic, I build furniture so I can clean this up and make this look nice, but maybe not "right" . I'm thinking it shouldn't have material impact given .22
Cut past the butt plate, meaning, remove a few inches off the back end to remove material and add a lightweight adjustable one. This would probably look a lot cleaner. You'll notice the scope/rings really far back to fit my eye relief. Maybe cutting to adjust LOP would be best, as then I can also shift the weight of the boat anchor scope forward

2. To square up right, I need a higher cheek riser. This Victor Titan is maxed out on spacers. Rings are medium and I don't think low will do it and the shade may get into the barrel. Is there an adjustable option I can drill/add in inserts that will accept a riser? I don't want to use an Amazon kydex version that drills through the sides, I'd like to add to the top.

What's the play with these guardrails? I'm not really sure of the demand for a 457 Manners stock. I get why everyone runs chassis' for this reason, but I do love the palm swell on a Manners

Good day all,

I recently received my new AT-X in 6.5 creed and was excited to get shooting.

Unfortunately I have a very real feeding issue on the magazine that came with the rifle and with any of my AX magazines .

I have log a fault with AI who has referred me to the country dealer but I have had no movement on this. Any ideas or anyone who has had this problem and seen it resolved. This is definitely not been a pleasant experience, nothing like shooting my other two AI rifles.

The problem is two fold the first is that the rounds seem to get stuck between the bolt and the chamber. Photos 1 and the second is that the bolt passes over the rounds not stripping one off when the magazine is down to the 5 or less rounds. Photo 2.

Washington, D.C. — Late yesterday, Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) helped secure a preliminary injunction against Biden’s Universal Registration Check rule, which could require any person who sells just one gun in a year to obtain a Federal Firearms License and conduct background checks. Under the judge’s order, the ATF may not enforce the new rule against members of GOA, the Tennessee Firearms Association, the Virginia Citizens Defense League, and residents of the States of Texas, Utah, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The original rule took effect on May 20th, but GOA helped previously secure a partial Temporary Restraining Order blocking its enforcement against our members and certain other plaintiffs.

2-Gun Rifle-Pistol Match

This match is a modified version of a combat excellence in arms match, and is especially suited to new shooters using rack grade rifles and ball (mil surplus) ammunition. Semi-automatic rifles and pistols are preferred. Optical sights, iron sights, match rifles, or any safe rifle are allowed. It is not necessary to participate in the pistol phase if one chooses not to. With prior request, every effort will be made to provide arms and ammunition to those in need.

WHEN: Sunday August 18, 2024 0800hrs

LOCATION: Buffalo Creek Gun Club, Bailey, CO on the 600 yd range. See www.bcgc.com for directions to the range.

FEE: Match fee $10 members, $15 non-members

EQUIPMENT (Minimal): Hearing and eye protection are required. Mats or ground cloths are allowed at the 600yd line. MTU jackets or web gear is permitted, but not required. No heavy competition coats, shooting carts, shooting stools, tripods, spotting scopes, or other specialized competition shooting gear allowed.

Recommended Equipment: Small pack, binoculars, eye/ear protection, ammunition, 2-4 rifle magazines. 2-4 pistol magazines, magazine carrier, pistol belt, holster, ballistic data card (DOPE), food, water, sunscreen, pen/pencil and notebook. Shooters will be moving with rifle, pistol, and all gear from 600yd, 500yd, 300yd, 200yd, and into the target pits. Shooters are highly encouraged to have all gear on your person and organized so that they can move, and shoot without delay.

PARKING: During match vehicles may be parked near pits or behind the 600 yd line. Vehicles will not be moved between yard lines during live fire. Shooters will advance downrange on foot between stages.

comes with 3 mags, the original 0moa rail and a 20moa rail I put on it. has around a thousand rounds on it. works and shoots but I'm enjoying rimfire and looking to upgrade to a custom.
no scope/rings/bipod included.
it does have some scuffs, nothing major and all cosmetic from the bipod and from getting used for positional.

This is my backup chassis and is very lightly used. It has almost every upgrade from MPA/Grey Ops and is ready to compete right out of the box. All original parts will also come with this allowing you to play around and set it up exactly how you want. Right now I have it set up with full internal weights, full external weights, Lightweight Matrix Pro 2 Cheek and Bag Rider, and the rest of the adjustable guts pulled out of the stock to keep weight down so it will balance with zero play. The way its setup it perfectly balances with a M24/MTU barrel but if you want to run a Comp contour or Strait Taper, just take some external weights off. There are a ton of extra grips, thumb rests and other accessories that add up to over $500 with of upgrades over a stock matrix pro. Chassis has some scratches here and there, but very good condition overall. It was used as a backup gun and only in a few matches and practice sessions.

Well, it finally happened to me. Mounting a different scope on my AI, and cracked the mounting bar...........from what I have read, this has been a problem for a while. I've got an email out to Mile High...........so we'll see how that works out.........

Who is making a good mount now..........looking for suggestions ............Thanks in advance for any help.
