Firearms Stiller tac 30/proof carbon/6.5 creed

I’ve got a stiller tac 30 action with a Murphy precision scope base, Triggertech diamond flat shoe, proof 22” 1:8 carbon pre fit, rugged muzzle brake.

Around 800 rounds total. Shoots good I just don’t need the carbon barrel. Can provide some Hornady brass with it if requested.

$1800 shipped to your FFL

Only trades would be another barreled action steel barrel in 6.5 creed or a tripod setup and kestrel 5700 elite.

*some dings and scratches on the bolt knob and action itself from when I bought it. It poked through the box during shipping. Everything was checked out after I got it and I’ve put 750 on it since so it’s purely cosmetic*

I ran this on a 17 WSM, but ended up not using the rifle. Built a Vudoo and have not pulled the 17 WSM out of the safe other than to clean it and list it for sale. I was going to keep this scope for a future project, but I don't see myself building anything that would need this scope. Excellent condition, only has a sign of where the rings were on the tube.

LA Remmington 700 Bolt won’t close.

I just installed a Criterion barrel cambered in 30-06 on my remmington 700. Checked head space with go and no go gauges MULTIPLE times even put a piece of scotch tape on back of the go gauge and bolt wouldn’t close. Take it off and it closes. Ejector was removed during all of this.

This is my concern I pulled out a box of factory federal fusion ammo 165 grain to check feeding and the first round fed in the chamber but the bolt was EXTREMELY hard to close. All other 19 rounds in the box fed fine and the bolt closed fine. No visual difference in the round that didn’t feed and even tried some Hornady match ammo and it fed fine and bolt closed fine.

Just scratch it up to a bad factory round?

Case Necks Aren’t Uniform

Alright, got my die cleaned up so it isn’t scratching the brass anymore…please tell me what I’m doing wrong now.

I left my dies setup the same way they were when I sized my virgin Lapua brass. Using a RCBS Matchmaster FL Bushing Die and a .287 bushing.

After running a few through I noticed the neck wasn’t sized all the way down. I started adjusting the die down so it sized more of the neck and the result are the attached pictures. Left to right is as I adjusted the die down more.

The right most case is about as far as it will go down while still allowing the bushing to move.

What the heck am I supposed to do at this point?

Not a vintage rifle but... still interesting vintage!

In their efforts to develop high-energy rocket fuel during Vietnam, researchers found the fuel they’d created was a little too powerful, consistently destroying the rockets they powered. After some refinement, the researchers dubbed it Astrolite—the air-scatterable liquid land mine.

Invented by chemist Gerald Hurst while at the Atlas Powder Company, Astrolite technically is a family of binary liquid-state high explosives that are formed when you mix ammonium nitrate and anhydrous hydrazine (the rocket fuel). This produces a clear liquid explosive called Astrolite G—it has a very high 8600 m/s detonation velocity—nearly double that of TNT. If you then add aluminum powder to Astrolite G, you get Astrolite A (for Aluminum) which has a velocity of detonation of 7800 m/s.

Now while they have a very high detonation velocity (it expands very quickly), Astrolite does not have a lot of mass (there’s less explosive to detonate per volume). That means that it’s not suitable for heavy demolition but excellent as an anti-personnel/light armor mine.
As a 1968 issue of Stars And Stripes described it:

Latest development is a “Liquid Land Mine” using Astrolite, the most powerful known explosive…Poured directly onto a dirt road, the stuff soaks into the first few inches of earth, giving tremendous upheaval power. Although the land mine was fired remotely in the test, a pressure-sensitive fuse can be used that will react to the weight of a passing vehicle…Liquid Land Mine can be simply poured from canteen like containers says its maker, Explosives Corporation of America, or sprayed from trucks or helicopters.

That’s right, you simply just spray it on—as little as 1oz is needed to incapacitate an enemy soldier—and sow in a detonator. It will remain active and detonatable in the soil for four days, unaffected by rain, but will eventually inactivate itself, eliminating the need for de-mining. The most useful feature is the fact that even when active, the Astrolite can’t be detected by normal mine detection equipment.

And it was even marketed as an instant foxhole digger

Footwear for PRS matches

Hi all. I am looking for some recommendations on footwear for matches. I have had extensive surgeries on my right leg and ankle. I have over pronation and arthritis in that ankle as well. Standing or walking for more than a couple of hours becomes incredibly painful. I need something with good solid ankle support, that is very comfortable, but also good in hot weather and possibly waterproof in case of mud and or rain. This isn't something I really put a budget cap on as long as they do the trick.

Thank you,
