6GT action/barrel/magazine/chassis

I have an ACC Elite chassis that I’d like to use for 6GT in PRS matches. After researching as much as I can, it seems I need to be careful in marrying up the action, barrel, and magazine type or else I run into feeding issues.

For example, a CDG action highly prefers AW mags and needs to machine any prefit barrels with a conical breech. AICS mags can work but requires messing with the magazine lever. Maybe the ACC elite can move the lever around to accommodate this?

An impact 737r action can just shoulder a prefit barrel and might not need any feed lip custom work on AICS mags (of which I have four, but I don’t mind switching to AW if that’s more reliable long term).

Anyone have the easy button on this setup? Trying to take advantage of any Labor Day deals and the amount of small details involved is making my brain hurty.

Thanks so much in advance for any shared expertise.

Optics WTS :Burris fast fire 3 w/ AR mount

Burris Fastfire 3 with the AR mount. It’s been mounted and the slot for the battery cap is slightly buggered. It’s seen no range time but they are pretty solid for the cost.

$195 shipped PayPal ff or zelle

5;56 velocity change and don't know why

Bullet weight: 55 gr
Powder: 23.0 grains H4895
Brass: Mixed headstamp
Rifle: Standard AR W/ 16 barrel (twist unimportant)

I've used the same load for 20 years. It had a 2900 fps give or take. Since I used range pick up, that caused some deviation. I put a new optic on it and wanted to zero it at 100 yds instead of 50. Took the chrono out and ran some so I could get a reading to make a ballistic drop chart. Avg velocity was 2550 fps on 20 rounds. (two sets of 10). Came home and picked out 10 pieces of brass with same headstamp. Measured the load by hand then back to the range. I called a friend to meet me there with his chrono. We set them up end to end. Same results. 2550 avg.

I cannot figure this out. Powder was stored on a shelf in the basement. 8 lb jug.

What's your thoughts?

SOLD RWS .30-06 Proof, Manners T3

Selling my right handed bolt guns due to an eye injury and needing to switch to shooting wrong handed.
Prefer money order or check (won't ship until check clears). Your FFL will need to accept transfers from individuals.

SOLD shipped (lower 48)
Action: GAP 7000 (Lawton) nitrided
Barrel: 22" Proof 1:8 (roughly 800 rounds through it)
Stock: Manners T3
Bottom Metal: Badger M5 DBM
Brake: Insite Arms Heathen Lite
Trigger: Timney

This rifle started life as a GAP build and was rebarreled, nitrided, restocked, and cerakoted by RW Snyder into a lighter more hunting oriented rig. Bare rifle weighs 8.7 lbs. I've only put the 195gr TMK browning and 175gr terminal ascent factory ammo through it and it will shoot both under a Minute for 10 shots. Rifle has been hunted with alot and has some scuff marks on the stock from rubbing while being carried and some safe rash.

Edit: I have had a few offers on the barreled action. The GAP 7000 action has 1/4" more tennon length than a remington 700 and pushed the recoil lug forward by that amount. It will not drop into a standard rem 700 inlet without modification, and the stock would not work on a different action.

SOLD CZ 457 action

Hate to sell this but I'm going to fund a build for my son. Absolutely fantastic shooter. Maybe 1k rounds with Tenex and other match varieties that shoot in the .2s and .3s. Larger groups with lesser quality obviously ammo, but it shoots everything pretty well.

This is a factory CZ 457 MTR but just swapped stocks with a KRG Bravo.

Specs:
-MTR barreled action w/ 20" barrel
-25 moa DIP rail
-(2) mags a 5 and 10 rounder
-Black KRG Bravo stock, tooless LOP adjuster, hook cover, 2 front pic rails
- Harris bipod 6-9 S-BRM

No scope included.

Only trades would be toward a rifle in 6.5x47.

KRG Bravo is sold.
Barreled action, mags, rail $750 shipped to your FFL. PayPal or Venmo.

Vudoo 360 Live Round Not Extracting

Anyone using center x with a vudoo 360 having issues of unfired rounds not extracting?

~1400 rounds through the barrel. No issues before the last few matches. No borescope, I’d drive myself nuts with it but I’m VERY diligent with cleaning the chamber/letting it soak with boretech carbon remover.

Anyone had it develop? Firing the round it extracts. Only center x fed. No other ammo.

Edit to add: I hadn’t been timing out with a round in the chamber previously. Shooting on a range (non matches) I never found myself trying to extract an u fired round.

Vudoo said it may be the result of a dull reamer when finishing the barrel. Offered to touch it up and reassured it’s a quick fix. I’ve been happy with the way it’s shooting so am going to hold off for now where I’m doing the NRL22 matches every month.

UPDATE 8/30/24 with some borescope video and a pic:
Video shows entering the chamber up to the lands and circled around. Looks like a small carbon ring. Not sure about all the other cracking / etc.

What do you consider the "range" of a particular cartridge?

My son is working on a project comparing different cartridges and ballistics. He has a few questions that I don't have a good answer for, so I thought this might be the best place to ask.

The question is; what do you think of as the range of the cartridge you're shooting? Not talking about hunting or shooting paper groups necessarily. Let's say you're shooting steel. Do you think in terms of where your bullet goes subsonic, or some function of that? Or where it has a certain mount of energy so you can spot misses. Or something else?

Thanks
