You may be right, it’s hard to tell how it plays out “on the field”, but what I do know is that something changed in the last 10 years (I know things have been going on way longer than that). There needs to be some consideration given to the lattice work of technology that is being rolled out: biometrics (focus on the word metrics - its data gathering and surveillance constantly as its end goal), IoT (including homes, cars, appliances), phones and laptops with massive tracking and reporting ability, digital currency, medical markers, chips under the skin, etc. One by itself is worrisome, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the consolidation of all that info through systems integration could (will, if some have their way) create nation-sized control facilities. Dont want to comply? No problem - starve or worse.

There were plenty of published voices out there about the things FDR was doing that was killing the American farmer and small business. The "greatest generation" chose safety over the Constitution; that means they were willing to sacrifice tomorrow's freedom for today's security. There is a direct line from then to now because of the laws that were enacted that are still enforced, along with the huge number of liberal leaning kids and piss poor politicians that followed. For that they are absolutely responsible.
Regarding the young person becoming indoctrinated - that falls squarely upon the shoulders of their parents for not teaching them BEFORE they got to that point AND allowing it to happen. Again, it goes back to the older generation not taking care of business.
