I had the barrel and sent it to Altus to be spun. They had the action and trigger. Ern did a fabulous job as far as I can tell.
I'm pretty sure that this is the first target pic I have ever posted. This is a five shot group made during barrel break in. For break in, I shot two singles, then a group of three and cleaning after the three yielded very little copper so I just went and shot this five shot group (and got almost no copper out after which speaks highly about the throat that Ern at Altus cut). First three shots are in that one hole and then it was getting late and I kind of rushed the last two with them pulled slightly left....and I'm not at all an expert marksman. For me, this is excellent shooting and, in my limited opinion, this is an excellent gun. This gun will be a shooter for sure, I believe.

Tempest now sits in a CPS takedown chassis for the moment and has a WTO switchlug installed. 6.5CM and 2x 7mmSAW barrels.
Just picked up my new preece precision 6.5 prc tika. His guns are on podium more than any preacher or politician I've ever seen. If you haven't heard of morgun king or preece precision look them up. They are dominating.

224 Valkyrie. 1:7 Bartlein. Custom reamer. Stiller 6.8 Bolt action & Bergara take-off stock bedded for action. My daughter’s rifle for years, but never Cerakoted it. Built it as cheap as I could at the time. I wasn’t willing to pay for Cerakote. Now I do it all myself. Shoots well. Re-bedded to relieve a little front action screw stress. Now its right. Decided to give it a full make-over. Shoots factory 88 ELD and 90 SMK very well. No issues. Must be the reamer.

That's awesome and all, but who has the time to shoot that many rifles. I can barely shoot the 4 that I have now with any regularity. I keep having to tell myself that a 5th would just make things worse.
I have from 22lr to 50bmg rifles. Last time Chance to visit my range, almost year! You’re right, no time. Only chance, wide(actually giant) back yard and shoot!

I just got done building my first custom rifle, got it put together in 40 minutes. Zeroed in 3 rounds, then put the next 5 through the same hole. Shot some steel out to 500 yd today, everything is dead on with 147 ELDMs. She's ready for the 1000 yd steel match, and should be a nice upgrade from my Rem700 308.
