Jesus people are stupid

I think you meant write, "Jesus, people are stupid."

Commas matter.

Not if I was directing my rhetoric directly towards Jesus.

Also you got me.

Remember, these stupid fuckers vote and when people ask them if 12,000,000 foreign criminals invading America is a problem, they say, "no".

And it proves the one constant from my entire life. 50% of all people are below average. They prove they are absolute idiots, every day.
Most people I talk to just shake their heads. If there isnt a massive steal again Potato my get a whoopin.

I got something at an airport food place, and a sign at the register said “%2 fee added for employee recruitment and retention.” Ok, well, that’s your tip. You’re welcome.

I honestly do not get the culture? It has has always seem like a poor man copying the rich
Man’s lifestyle kind of thing to me. After paying for VAT, food and drink I pay another emotional blackmail tax. Never understood it.
And that's the problem right there. The business is shifting wages to the customer in a tip based environment. And if you don't tip here in the US you are looked at badly and get morally bashed when it is not the duty of the customer to directly pay the employees. This is how most places around the globe see it.

Agree in many circumstances this is the case. Some people think it makes them look affluent.

I've worked for tips before where my guaranteed pay was 1/2 minimum wage and supposed to be supplemented by tips. I'm not sure if that works anymore with all the "fair pay" legislation I keep hearing about. Do waitstaff, bellhops, etc. still get paid less than minimum wage and count on tips to make up the rest?

I don't really care if people want to give their money away voluntarily but I don't patronize entitlement establishments.

Personally if the place told me that when I walked in like the guy in the video says, I would turn around and walk away.

I agree with what some people here are saying about tipping, but that is not the world we currently live in. So depending on how you do will depend on the amount of your tip.

I have been known to tip 0$, as well as over 100% It just depends on how I see you do your job.

It should not be that way but it is.

Same here.

When I saw a tip jar on the counter at Advance Auto though......................

My wife bartends. She makes $15/hourly to put up with idiots.

That generally turns into $30-50/hr with tips. Much easier to put up with the idiots.

But the kids at Subway that struggle to make a sandwich when I'm telling them the ingredients? No, they're not getting a tip. Neither are the drive-through workers that handed me food.

Tips only go to servers and it'll be fully dependant on how they do their job. I've tipped more than the bill when someone has gone out of their way and provided exceptional service.

Tips only go to servers

Disagree with nothing here.

Counter workers and cashiers get no tip from me. The geniuses behind the counters of the burger factories that jab at pictures of food to ring up my bill fall in this category.

I will tip a bartender and I will tip my wife's barista(s) based on the service they give and the quality of the product if they had to mix it or pour it.

I struggle with places like the Willie's Ice Houses around here where I have to wait in line to place my order, then get my own drink, then find my own table, then wait for someone to come ask me if I really ordered what I ordered and take my ticket back to the kitchen before they start working on my order. They're not really waitstaff, more like glorified busboys. I'll leave them a small tip for their efforts but I'd be just as happy picking up my own food and bussing my own table.

Like @fpgt72 I've been known to exceed 100% on occasion but but it really has to be exceptional. Just covering the basics and not being handy or responsive will get you around 10%, being handy and responsive on top of the basics is around 15%, correctly anticipating needs and more moves to 20%+.
