I had a total knee replacement last month which can be VERY painful for days afterwards. I was sent home with 20 5mg Oxycodone tablets ….period !!
They didn’t even begin to dull the pain , much less give any relief. I asked the surgeons nurse why they lowball patients with pain meds when they know you’ll be hurting ??
Got the standard “ opioid crises” excuse. … I get it , but I’m 71 years old and never abuse drugs. Why the fuck do they even make them ??
Guess the drug reps aren’t greasing the doctors palms enough anymore ?
Gave me 48 after spine surgery. No idea what it was. Called a pharmacist friend and he told me it was an addictive opioid. Flushed them down the toilet.
They gave my buddy 100 or so after his surgery it was a multiple months worth before the crackdown. He said fuck that shit
I’m not in to medicine in general …pain medicine in particular. That said , I wished I was given the option of taking anything stronger or not.
When they told me that ibuprofen would take care of the pain , it reminded me of a old saying “ don’t piss down my neck and tell me it’s raining”
Doctors are scared shitless to prescribe anything anymore..,.don’t want to get on the DEA’s shit list.
