That’s header is worth gold now that Muzzy is out of buisness. If you ever sell it find a stocker and sell the Muzzy separate.
I payed a kings ransom for my 2002 bike, I was lucky to stumble onto it but snatched it up.
Nice bike.
I barely road it this year. I may just put it in my basement as modern art.

It's not terrible. Does a lot of burbling and popping spitting fire when you get off the throttle.
Yea your bike will have no scavenging benefits with that open system. I know it’s not traditional with the look your going for but if you threw on a Sawicki shorty 2 into one system with that trick flat sided carb you have and dyno tuned it, that thing would fuckin rip !

It has zero suspension in the rear. Trust me it dont need to be faster than it already is. Haha

Damn all of you lol. House needs to hurry up and sell..... Along with the YZ250X or the WR250F I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick up a Yamaha Tenre 700. Kiddo is still going to get a YZ85LW.....

Very random I know, but selling off gun and motor stuff and would like to consolidate to a KTM 500 exc.

Have a 2008 R1200GS and 2017 Raptor 700 to sell or trade towards a KTM (selling both). Also have some NV stuff (below) for sale if that’s of interest for a trade.

For those of you riding with a GoPro on your helmet, do you put it in a special case to keep the lens from getting hit by bugs or whatever?

I already have the mounts one for my windscreen and one to put on the front of my helmet and wondering if I need some high impact case?

I did for a while, but ended up taking it off because I constantly forgot to charge my batteries, and it was a waste. 😂

I just used a cheap Amazon protective case and mounted it to my helmet’s chin. Anything you can find that will be compatible with your mount style will work fine. I wouldn’t worry about impact, as long as it has a basic sacrificial cover over the camera’s lens.

After nearly 10 years of ownership I finally bought some mods for my Rocket III that were long overdue; LED replacement headlights, a Denali Soundbomb Split horn, and a Madstad flyscreen.

Also Amazon’d some vinyl auto wrap and the necessary application tools to apply over some chrome accents. Much cheaper and less permanent than paint work to test my vision for some changes. If I like it, I have a guy for powder coating.

Next on my list is a set of T-Bars and minimized/LED turn signals.

I’m really craving Carpenter Racing pipes, but $1600 for the exhaust +tuning/dyno cost from a local shop to remap the ECU & fuel/air mixture is pretty steep. I find myself frequently wondering why I didn’t go into a more lucrative career…

So what, cry once and buy what you want. There are 3 things that make a great bike.
Suspension, brakes and a full exhaust system.
Once you have had the trifecta you can never go back.
They are worth every dime every time you go out it will put a smile on your face.

Nope, did fine for 3k without one.
External/remote mic would be handy.
A little narration of the vids helps keep location/timeline.

With all my health bullshit lately, anything with even moderate recoil makes me bruise pretty bad, so I’ve been cutting back on things that simply won’t see use for a long, long time. Basically anything over 6.5G is out, and even that gets limited to a box or two at most. I’m basically a .223 and rimfire/airgun guy anymore… 😭

So instead, I sold/am selling a bunch of stuff to recoup the funds spent on this:

Yeah, if I wreck, the chances of me bleeding out are good. But I’m generally a conservative rider who takes less-frequently used roads, and I can’t live my life by fear and “what-ifs” anymore. Flying is out, and life commitments keep me from shooting more than once a month or so (if that). But a bike? I can ride this thing to work so it has a practical purpose, and go on daily rides otherwise so it sees regular use. Plus riding is cheap therapy, and life has me needing that a lot these days…

I’ve ALWAYS wanted an RC51, but kind of always figured they were out of my reach. But when you a) sell a shit-ton of gun stuff and b) find a guy well-known in the ‘51 world for his work rebuilding them and said guy needs to let one go, it means the planets aligned in my favor lol. It’s a 2002, so an SP-2 with the factory massages that came out to improve fuel mapping, chassis geometry, suspension, etc. It has a little over 18K on the clocks and is overall in excellent shape!

I’ve never owned a twin, so it’ll take a little time to get used to it vs the i4 layout I’m used to, but this thing runs like a raped ape and could pull a stump from just above idle. I’ve only ridden it a tiny bit as it needs new tires, a suspension setup, and insurance/registration still, but I’m beyond amped to get it out once we get some rain to wash the salt off the roads!

It’s been a good while since I had a sporty ride like this. I used to be a Pirelli Angel GT guy, but I hear the Dunlop Roadsmart IVs last longer with handling and grip that’s at least as good, if not better. Sure, a WSBK legend like this should probably have Diablo Rossos, Q5s, BT23s, or some other super-grippy rubber, but I need a longer-wearing dual compound option to help cut back on tire expenses without sacrificing too much performance. Any suggestions?

I love the RC51 and all the other high performance "V"twins.

I bought a CBR929RR back in 2001, looking back I should've bought the RC51 that was beside it in the showroom 🤦🏻‍♂️... Currently looking into the '25 Ducati Panigale V2 or the Aprilia RS660 Factory. Both look way more fun than the big liter bikes these days

To be quite honest, I never thought I’d own a twin lol. Been an i4 guy my whole life, and figured the twins really worth having (Ducs, Aprilias, RC51, etc.) were out of my reach. The TL1000 and SV1000 never really sparked a fire in me even though I know they’re solid bikes. I did consider an SV as I looked around for what to buy but the RC51 was always there in the back of my mind, and I knew I’d never really be happy with that choice.

So when this one sort of fell in my lap, I couldn’t say no and I found a way to make it happen. I just got plates for it, and it needs new tires and a replacement gear position indicator to get the speedo/odo working again so I’ve only had it out briefly, but I’m confident I made the right decision. We’ll see how long my back agrees, but this thing is fun as hell! It has a super stable and well-mannered chassis/suspension set up, plenty of get-up-and-go, and stops on a friggin’ dime (I’ve already had the rear a bit off the ground a few times lol). I can’t wait to have her sorted and out regularly!

That would have been a slightly tougher decision had it been a 954RR, but as good as the 929 was, it would have been an easy choice on the RC51 for me lol.

I hear really good things on the Panigale V2 and RS660, though. I’d go V2 personally. I’ve been spoiled by the torque of bigger bikes in general as they let you use more of their power at lower RPM where it matters on the street, and without attracting quite as much attention as you would by revving the nuts off a middleweight i4 to get to where the HP is.

That was part of why the RC51 appealed to me as much as it did (“character” and pedigree aside). In a straight line a modern middleweight might be able to walk away from me but outside of top fuel stuff, straight line speed by itself is unimpressive to me on a bike. True riding prowess is demonstrated in the twisties, and the grunt of my 23 year old RC51 would still dominate a modern middleweight assuming equal rider ability. For regular riding on the street, it also means vastly more accessible oomph at RPM not terribly above idle, an easy trade to make in my opinion lol.

I still want a 954RR and a gen1 ZX10R, but I really think I’m gonna enjoy this twin stuff going forward! Tell us what you decide on when you know!

I bought the 929 new in 00 and still have it.

Haven't a helmet comms device.
Would like to add one for none solo rides.
As far as the blue tooth compatibility can't say.
Newer go pro models may support the above.

Helmet comm and audio are a gamechanger for all rides. I started with a Nolan N-Com system in my older Nolan N104 which was really nice, but 1 speaker went out and there's no replacement available unless I wanna spend $$ on their stuff that's not exactly available in the US.

I'm looking at a Cardo PackTalk Pro and a newer helmet (still deciding on helmet.) Yeah it's pricey, but it has JBL speakers and apparently really good noise canceling tech for the microphone. Connectivity seems to be a non-issue as it connects via Bluetooth or mesh networks with other riders.

I don't ride in packs, so I'm just more interested in listening to music, audiobooks, and making phone calls LOL. We'll see. I'm 97.3% sure I'm gonna upgrade my 2013 BMW ReichBike to something more up to date with the current computer doo-dads touring motorcycles have. Stay tuned for that 🤣

Am leaning the same way, cardo pro, seems like it has the options I'd like.
Have an Arai XD4 that works pretty well for me.
Visor is removable but have left it on so far.
Sun shade is quite handy.

I went with a Cardo Spirit HD and the JBL upgrade. With a recent sale it came in just over $200 for both. I don’t ride in groups so I don’t need comms, just the ability to make and receive calls and listen to music and podcasts.

I previously had a Cardo Scala Q3 and it worked amazingly well for damn near a decade, so I’m confident the Spirit HD will do the same. For more than double, I didn’t need all the other fancy doo-dads.

Me and the wife have a pair of Cardo Packtalk Bolds. Noise cancelling is excellent. We couldn't imagine riding without them now.

I usually ride in the lead position as I am the designated road surface screener. She typically follows the same line that I take through the curves. If I see something sketchy up ahead, I let her know to look out.

The intercom is definitely a safety plus as I frequently tell her to look out for some asshole I see up ahead.
