Has anyone switched from an Acc Elite to the Samson in here? My buddy has a Samson so I’ve put about 100 rounds through it and it’s quite nice. Just wanted to hear anyone experiences switching. How are you liking it so far?
Yes, I did exactly that for my 25x47. It’s really subjective and personal preference, but the Foundation (and most more traditional stocks) feel more natural to me and don’t get in my way.
I don’t think you’re really giving up much unless you need all the attachment points on the chassis itself. I felt I didn’t shoot quite as well with a chassis as I did with a stock like a Foundation or Manners (I tested this with the same barreled action). I also like the “dead” feeling of Foundation stocks. But again, this is mostly preference and there are probably guys who feel the exact opposite as me, and that’s totally valid too.
My Bergara came with a ACC Elite and i bought a Centurion, which is similar to the Samson, minus the weights.
For me it is like @malsa82 has already described it, it feels more natural and there is nothing to worry about. A plus in my opinion is the wider bottom of the Front End, there is no need for Wings or Plates, and it is stiffer than the ACC Elite, which still has some torque, which i don´t like at all.
Had the Jellys in my Elite, i expected the Centurion to feel more "dead", the difference was, at least for me, not that big.
Overall i like the Centurion, the ACC Elite will be used in the Future for PRS Rimfire.

Does anyone run a Samson with a 1.25 straight barrel? The bridge fits over it. Just double checking.
When I called them they said yes it all should fit..... but I ended up not getting the 1.25 straight barrel
I do. The bridge clears easy. The bottom of the stock up front is close but it does clear.
that would be close, I thought my crb Comp was tight. Good to know but not surprised as many run the 1.25 straight.
I haven’t noticed any. It is really close though.
My next barrel will probably be a comp contour though. It is ridiculously heavy.
Is that the 8-40 ZCO? Thing is long holy cow.
I tried out 22cm. I may stick with 6CM though. I seem to have way better luck accuracy wise. I pushed it hard - 3400fps + for 500 rounds and I feel the barrel has some pretty heavy wear already. Probably not a wise thing to do, shooting that fast of speeds at steel targets lol.
Well I’m out of luck on that. I have a CRB straight currently and another that’s ready to go. Can’t you remove some front weights?
Yeah that is an 8-40. I hate to admit it but I built this because I had an extra 8-40. It was originally bought for a different build but that one got a different 8-40 ( this one is a mpct 3x, the other build (a Rimfire) got a 1x). I am pushing this one a bit hard 85 bergers at 3350) figure a barrel a year.
Definitely can remove some. I am not sure how much the removable brass adds, buts it’s got to be quite a bit.

I switched my brass weights to aluminum and well as the Rail is aluminum ( black). It cuts about 2.5 pounds.
