Vudoo closed the doors…

Was looking at a Vudoo 360 or Rimx as a high end build eventually. Or a B14R or CZ rebarrel

I know there was chatter about them focusing more lately on 1911’s and what not

Seems like a great time to be a high end .22 builder with the popularity of the sport seemingly growing.

Also seems to be some new comp actions coming to market including L3I.

Hopefully it's temporary. Thier are many shops with pending Vudoo builds.

Actions like the Remington 40x was the predecessor of the V22 action. Hopefully those who are doing a variance change of this action have fixed the multiple issues of the 40x. (That's what Vudoo did).

Else thier will be other options coming soon!
Competition is very healthy especially in this market, it can set new benchmarks, highlight benchnarks or how big can you dream reality Benchmarks. Customers always win in these scenarios.

Before Vudoo was Vudoo didn't they used to be a CF rifle builder that also closed up shop?

If so that would make this the 2nd business they have failed at. IMO the Vudoo actions have always felt like shit...

What rimfire action do you think feels better? Looking at going a different route and interested in your experience
RimX by far. I started with a Bergara and then upgraded to the RimX. Hell even the Bergara felt better to me than any Vudoo I've ever shot.

Although I would wait till they get their current issue with the bolts ironed out before buying.

I had one of the most severe RimX bolt issues. Put 3000 rounds thru it in a couple months and it gave up the ghost. Was informed to stop usage.
The most current bolt body version will be to me tomorrow, and plan to run 1000 rounds thru it in a few days.
Sounds like this final version is the problem solver.
Will post results in RimX thread.

If it doesn't involve switching to a 4XXX series nitrided steel, I'm not interested.

The real story... About a year ago we get bought out by Nomad Capitol who knows nothing about guns. They hire Jacob Herman to run the company. He's an arms dealer who knows nothing about running a production facility. He fires the original owners (Paul and Jill Parrot) who were supposed to stay on to run it. He's mostly absent, shows up a few days a month. Takes him about 9 months to ruin the company. Stopped paying vendors about 2 months ago. Comes in two weeks ago and says Vudoo is done....everyone pack your stuff and leave. A few days ago I hear he bought the company and is moving it to OK. No one is going with him. The Vudoo everyone knows is dead. All shady as heck. You're welcome to share this on forums...without my name."

So they pretty much shafted everyone that was a long time employee, and departing like the Baltimore Colts!

I’m sure prices will be fine. But I personally wouldn’t support this company after that given the other choices currently on or coming to the market
Same, but I will use mine until a better shooting one comes along. It's parked with a few brinks of ammo for the Regional Finale, and Nationals. Going to test a RimX of all things this weekend at a regional qualifier......looking like a possible option so far, but who knows with rimfire.

I know bolt heads have been an issue lately on those. I actually just bought a heavy Bergara barreled action. Wanted to pursue another precision rimfire and with this news and recent rimx news I’ll just take my chances on another B14R (I already have one) and a modacam/DI or DPG rebarrel if needed

Sucks because the 360 I had is what I was thinking of going back to

Well fuck them too as I am sooo glad I didn't bite and wasted money on a LH version yet since it did me a service. OTH if that thats the direction they going to make high end poop shit 1911's that my 400 dollar Tisas can compete and beat the hell out them in competitions then they are doomed.

They’ll follow in suit to what others like Remington have done

Trim expenses to increase profits

New guns will have issues
Customer service will lack
New management will try to capitalize on name

Then when the company is run into the ground they’ll sell the carcass for whatever it’s worth.

Maybe get lucky and old employees will get into a new company and result in a better end product anyways

I was literally just thinking today, i sold my vudoo a long time ago, maybe i want another?

It sounds odd, what is happening if the above post is true. To be fair, i know nothing about their business and whether it was or was not run proficiently. Sounds odd, to purchase it and then move. Who knows. Very few, if any of us truly know the WHOLE story, and have heard both sides. Business, these days especially is difficult. I cant imagine a firearm business is remotely easy, this day in age.

Hope the best for them. Hopefully it gets figured out. I enjoyed my vudoo while i had it.
