They dont make one anymore.

No more vinyl floor mats, manual transmissions, manual transfer cases, or radio deletes.

The big 3 can eat a dick(die hard chevy guy)... i will buy a toyota...but they dont offer an 8' bed dually in thos country( thanks epa)

Shred

They do make them. You have to find a fleet dealer to find them on the lot.
But anyone can go order a brand new work truck trim. It'll come with vinyl seats, manual transfer case, and a basic radio with am/FM and Bluetooth.

But what they're going to stock and try and force you into are the $10k+ upgraded trim levels. Work truck to Denali actually doubles the cost of the truck. But douche canoes want Denali's and that's what the best profit margins are on.

Find a 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado, 5.3 liter, in great shape with low mileage. They are a few out there. With proper maintenance, they last forever.

No they don't. They have junk wiring harnesses and afm.
My dad just put his 13 up for sale rather than address the afm that needs to be deleted.

There's a huge reason I have 3500s only. No afm, and crew cab long boxes.

What am I missing? What is AFM?

"Active fuel management"
Aka 4 and 6 cylinder mode.

They use oil and solenoids to special lifters to turn cylinders on and off.

They have a history of lifters getting stuck halfway and beating themselves to death while glitter bombing the rest of the engine.

Thanks. My brain wasn’t working. I was trying to figure it out. I hate everything is abbreviated.

My 20 Silverado had the lifters stick and eat the cam shaft. Luckily under warranty, smoked a black bear at about 80 one morning shortly after the lifters and etc were replaced so I no longer have that truck. Still in a Chevy though. 21 trail boss, I have the DFM disabled with a tuner so I hope it lasts for a while.

If they stuck a 4 cylinder gas motor in it, had a standard and long bed option, then it would sell like hotcakes.

Until then I’ll keep lol’ing at big trucks with 5 foot beds trying to load 2x4x8 lumber while I drive off in my faggot ass Camry with a trailer.

I actually hate the way they look, but a couple of my son’s friends, as well as our godson have the hybrid Maverick and love ‘em.

Great mileage and hauls all their work gear with ease. When they need more truck they usually borrow mine or my son’s and/or hook up a trailer! LoL

Mmm... they make their cheapest option, yes. We buy fleet vehicles at work, and even they're overly complicated, fragile crap.

Depends what you're spec is.

My work truck edition has a decent options list, but my main concern was rubber floor and floor shifted transfer case.

I'm ok with cruise, ac, power locks, etc.

We need no options. Monkey proof.

We got some POS RAM vans in recently. (probably because they were the cheapest, because no one's buying them)
Crap literally started falling off one of them on the second day.

2005 paid 4k 2 years ago and had to fix a few issues.

Aint perfect or pretty. But she’s solid. Lq4 6.0 4L80 12 bolt rear,8ft bed, plastic floor. No variable cam shit or cylinder deactivation.

That's 10.5" 14 bolt rear end. Full floating with beefy hubs and brakes. The diesels get a 11.5" version.

The 12 bolt hasn't existed since the 70s.

That will also be a 4l85e, as they added 5 pinion rear planetary gear sets in 01 ish to beef them up. They take the same rebuild kit and are identical, other than the 5 pinion planet being a $700 upgrade to install in the older ones.

Check your knock sensors. They're in the valley, covered by rubber plugs. When water gets in there they corrode and throw false codes constantly. Just need a pick to get the electrical connectors apart and a fuel line disconnect tool.
Be generous with rtv sealing them back up. If they already have rtv, they've been done already.

Now you just need decent mirrors to actually see around a trailer!

Saying you don't want anything because a ram fell apart is dumb. They can have nothing and I bet the door would fall off.

Base RWD Tacoma is $33k, 6500 lbs towing capacity. Double cabs are an option. 4WD brings it to $39k. Hard to beat Toyota reliability (although like most vehicles, they're probably not what they were 10 years ago)

Rodger

only code it throws is evap related. Charcoal can is beefed so I D/C it.

There was an updated evap can because the stock one got full of dust and plugged up.

You want to keep all the evap and vacuum lines in good shape. The computer will modify line pressure in the transmission based on torque tables, and evap and vacuum can make it run on the wrong tables.

So yes, a vacuum leak can cause transmission failure... 😐

where is the charcoal canister for the gas tank connected to the intake manifold?

I was under the impression it vents to atmosphere after going thru the charcoal
