this is the rifle i just finished setting up to get me started in long range precision shooting. i've been reading everything i can get my eyes on and am taking her out for her first range trip tomorrow to see what we can do together.

my hopes are that this set-up will allow me to learn tactical long range shooting and be able to assess what mods/improvements need to be made from here. already in the works is a timney 510 trigger and a barrel cut/recrown.

any suggestions/comments/feedback are appreciated.

yes, it's a new model. i believe it's the x-mark pro trigger. i haven't read too many good things about them. i haven't tried adjusting it yet, but it feels a bit heavy as is.

I think you should try adjusting it before you spend money on a new trigger. Might as well work with what you got. You might end up liking it.

jgorski- i probably paid less for the badger base and bipod than you did for your tps and that bald eagle contraption. how do you tote that thing in the field?

i'm going to shoot with the trigger it has for a bit and see what shakes out. i just wasn't initially impressed is all.

Ive got 2 Harris Bi-pods, also. Both of these rigs are set up for 600yd BR, I only carry them from my case to the bench and back. LOL
If Id have to tote them in the field Ive got a few slings, too.
fwiw, TPS rings and base went about $150 for both. The rest I got for 350.
