Loading for savage 110ba

Re: Loading for savage 110ba

I'm loading 300gr bergers into the lands, which requires me to be much longer than mag length.

Mag length loads produced worse SD's and groups for me so I didn't go with it. I figure that the distances I'm using this at, I can reload it manually and send off another one before the first even hits anyways.

That's what I'm playing with now, would you mind posting up your 'recipe'?

300gr bergers
Lapua Brass
92.8 gr retumbo
federal 205m primers
seating .015 INTO the lands

So far this load has proven to be great.

Wow, .015" into the lands!

Thanks for the recipe!

Re: Loading for savage 110ba

Just looked and it's actually .013 into the lands... So to account for variation it's between .01 and .015.

Start off with a lower charge in your rifle, putting the bullet into the lands can result in a lot of pressure.

I'm loading my 250gr accubonds to mag length, but when I step up to 300 gr I won't mind loading one at a time </div></div>

You'll need to get an 'overall length gauge' ($35) it would be super dangerous to use somebody else's chamber dimensions to create loads.
