Last week I ordered a Bell & Carlson model 2092-97 from Shooter's Discount inc. On monday of this week A stock arrived, but not the stock I ordered. No biggie, right? Things happen, people make mistakes, and it's understandable. However, when I called the company to straighten it out and have them send me the stock I ordered I was told by "Angel" that they did ship me the stock I ordered. I explained to her that it was not what i ordered, and that I couldn't have ordered the wrong stock because I clicked on the picture of the stock I wanted on their website to order it. The stock I was sent was not even on the same page as the one I ordered. So after what felt like 10 minutes of arguing, she begrudgingly agreed to send me the stock that I wanted.
Ok, fast forward to yesterday and the new stock arrives. It's the correct style and color, but it's for a long action and I needed a short action. This was my mistake. However, when I called back today(Fri, 02/09/2013) and explained the situation to Angel she told me since they had already shipped me 2 stocks that I would have to return on my nickle as well as pay a 10% restocking fee. Now, I'm a reasonable person, and can understand paying return shipping for my mistake, but 10% of a $240 stock on top of return shipping is a bit out of line. I promised her that I would post on every forum I frequent, and tell every person at every range and match I attend exactly how they handled this situation, as well as provide the names and websites of their competitors to anyone who may be in the market for a new stock or 10/22 accessories.
Bottom line is I was treated rudely and disrespectfully, and dealing with Shooter's Discount has cost me money. Do any of you think Stocky's, Midway, Brownell's, or damn near anywhere else that sells high end shooting accessories would treat their customers like that? I know the answer to that question, and I'd bet most of you do as well. I feel better now, having got that off my chest.
The stock is listed for sale in the BX of M14forum if anyone wants to take a gander. If it doesn't sell by the end of the weekend I'll send it back on my dime, and call my credit card co. and tell them to cancel the payment. (Gotta love credit card co's sometimes)
