It started out that way and has only gotten worse. This thread is about as useless as tits on a boar...
I, too, was taken aback by the vitriol lobbed at him. I do understand his point. Even if he was to sell it, he needs it fixed right and any company should stand behind its product, regardless of cost.surprised redneck is getting so much flack. imo, he is very legit, been on here super long time. bought some stuff from him years ago, good transactions. he even helped me, via some phone calls, years ago with my first build. very knowledgable.
i recently had a little problem with a criterion barrel and criterion treated me great! excellent customer service.
also had a problem, 4 ish years ago, with a GAP built 6.5 saum with a bartlein barrel. frank at bartlein was sooooooo awesome. he put a new barrel on and it shoots great!
I reported you to the mods…I like my savage okay….there I said it.
it needs a different barrel though I have more 308s than I need
It’s not amazing but its fine for the priceI reported you to the mods…

@redneckbmxer24I came back here to apologize to BMX'R, I was out of line and I apologize for it.
I hope you get it figured out and I hope you share the outcome.
Yep. Tikka>BegaraCannot be. EVERYBODY says Bergara is as good as Tikka.
If it's gotta be a factory rifle, buy a Tikka. Except IF you do have issues w/ the Tikka, you're fucked. Good thing is that most people don't have issues w/ Tikkas.

How dare you, I do NOT own a 6.5.I thought you were just on this forum to pickup up other Savage owning Manbun 6.5 Creedmoor dudes for your Friday night gay fests. This is why you "like" wink wink Savage. You gay Savage Manbun 6.5 Creedmoor dudes spot each other a mile away, like how back in the 80's you wore the earing in the right ear
You actually shoot?![]()
Well I do own a 6.5 (better than any dress wearing owner of a .3oh my GOD it can’t hit a thing past 125 yards 8)Creedmoor. I have also owned at least three Savages in my life, including a 99 in .250-3000 that I still kick myself for selling, back when they were common as fleas and almost as inexpensive.I thought you were just on this forum to pickup up other Savage owning Manbun 6.5 Creedmoor dudes for your Friday night gay fests. In my opinion, those 6.5 Creedmoor haters are so vocal because they are trying to compensate for a male appendage that is so small it has to be measured with an Electron Microscope, that would be if they could find it because its so small
So there and I don’t wear a man bun! But I’ve broke more horses, drunk more beer, wrestled more cows, killed more deer, and fought more Viet Cong than all you Creedmoor haters combined.
It’s not amazing but its fine for the price
Well actually I did, but only for my own use. Laid a few slabs, nothing pretty but they worked just fine. As far as I know, at least one is still there, even thought the barn and horse breaking pen are long gone. You didn’t do concrete?
Nah, too expensive, got me a couple old coke bottles, cut the bottom out of em, used some duck tape to stick the bottoms to each end of a Jax Beer can, then duck taped it to the top of the gun. Good for 1200 yards.Do you have a Quigley Ford on your 6.5?
I used schlitz bottles, if you leave the duct tape loose, you can twist the front bottle to focus better. I made my crosshair with a blonde cunt hair. The red was too thicktwo.
.I tried that but everytime I went to focus I smelled that cunt hair and got such wood it threw my aim off a mil or two.
The only thing I can think of is to ensure the barrel is torqued up.I didn’t start shooting precision rifles last week…
The scope base isn’t loose. It was bedded because the front of the receiver was out of spec and had to be built up. It was bedded for straightness (Seekins rail), and also epoxied onto the receiver after curing with JB so theres no way in hell it’s coming loose. I’ve shot epoxied bases without screws to test strength and it made no difference.
Their brake certainly made it shoot worse and did shit for recoil mitigation on the first trip so I didn’t even try again with it after repair. Today I was shooting with a Hawkins Tank Brake ST .30cal as well as bare muzzle which yielded the same results.
The stock is actually very rigid and has a considerable gap around it, there is absolutely no way it’s contacting.
The fact is that the rifle produced two great groups back to back with the barrel incredibly hot and then went back to shooting like shit once it cooled down.
This was my third Bergara, that was a typo. The first was an HMR and a Premier approach, both of which were repaired.
If anyone that thinks Bergaras are so great and I’m doing something wrong wants to put their money where their mouth is you’re more than welcome to take this thing off of my hands. I’ll even include the Seekins base!
That's a you problem not an industry problem.90% of everything I buy, guns, gun parts, has to be sent back... I think this is the post covid era of DEI hires , bad QC, and people that just dont give a damn and taking pride in your work has completely left the building. Sad world its come to. Bidenomics has also put a damper on producing anything, shipping anything, companies are taking short cuts, using cheaper junk stuff, less QC time (if any at all) because everything costs so much more.
I have OCD and spent a lot of time in the metal working industry and cars and autobody... so im super picky and any little thing wrong ticks me off... it sucks... A lot of times I can tell somethings junk before even opening the box, by how loose it was packs and hear it shaking around..... all beat up, scratched...
But im sure goes with the metallurgical side as well. The tests done on the steel for the barrels..... just get them out the door... once produced... just get them out the door... who cars.
I had a guy in my shop fretting over stock inlet work we did for him. He was so angry he was shaking as I was asking him to point out his concern. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the inlet, as he insisted he was very ocd and couldn’t handle it. Ended up buying his stock and asking him to find another smith. I thought he was about to go ballistic. The whole thing was very bazaarThat's a you problem not an industry problem.
You're the kind of customer everyone wishes would just go away.
You must not buy a lot of stuff or build a lot of stuff. That's a you problem not an industry problem.

All I ask for is something to be as advertised. I got a whole folder full of return stuff, Complete pistols high polished nickel finish showing up looking blasted cause they missed the polishing step, they fixed it. BCG's machined with all the burrs left on them, they forgot a step. Barrels showing up with huge dents in them, chambers not even machined right and dont even work, handguards that look like they were skidded across the floor, to guitars and multi thousand dollar Gibsons with machine marks in the fretboards and the inlays lifting up... QC is just shit everywhere, car, truck parts, its not just the gun industry its factory workers everywhere in every field. Look at Boeing... lol.. its even hit them. If you deal enough with stuff you see it. Very few craftsmen out there anymore either, they are all retiring and the new generation cant do shit if there isnt an app for it.
AND ive been told by several people that manufacturers cant find good help, all they can find is warm bodies to fill production roles, people with no pride, no commitment, just do the minimum to get a paycheck and dont give a damn about anything else.... its the new American way.. Since covid no one wants to work, or thinks they deserve something rather than have to work for it.
I jumped on the man-bun thing because I thought it was funny. Oft maligned is my favorite cartridge, the .308. It's a workhorse at most common distances. If you are a hunter in the southeast, you are lucky to range a shot on a deer at 250 yards. Will be closer than that.Well I do own a 6.5 (better than any dress wearing owner of a .3oh my GOD it can’t hit a thing past 125 yards 8)Creedmoor. Actually in North Louisiana we have open fields and pipelines that give shots well past 500 yards. But I won’t shoot them at that distance. it’s a personal thing. Spent too many days and nights tracking deer that others shot “at.”If you are a hunter in the southeast, you are lucky to range a shot on a deer at 250 yards. Will be closer than that.
Yeah, but you gotta get to the person with authority to do the needful. Put up enough road blocks and most customers will say “sucks, but okay,” some will say “f you and your policy.” But, there’s almost always someone in the chain that will say “yeah, we can do that.”I’ve had a few people message me asking the outcome of this so I figured I’d update it.
Bergaras service department manager stepped in and offered to refund the rifle after I told them I would be sueing them. Something I asked for previously and they denied and flat out said is something they don’t do, but in conversation with the manager they do seemingly somewhat common. This could all have been avoided had they just agreed to that from the start or rebarreled the thing as I also asked and would have cost them less money. It’s very unfortunate that you have to light a fire under a companys ass and prepare to take legal action for them to make it right.

I’m sure they do know. But, this is where the ol’ honey vs vinegar saying comes into play. It’s a “chain of command,” not a web of command. You can’t tell me that the peons answering the phones don’t know that in some cases they cut checks for refunds. Even assuming they didn’t know they shouldn’t make a statement like that if they don’t know, a statement which was clearly wrong. When it got to this point they should have automatically escalated it up the chain of command.
Oh boy another probably hacked old account with very few posts necromancing a dead thread. What was Einstein's definition of insanity again?
Oh boy a triggered forum fudd troll.Oh boy another probably hacked old account with very few posts necromancing a dead thread.
You must not be aware of what a fudd is, good try though.Oh boy a triggered forum fudd troll.
I mean, to be fair I do troll SOME folks.I am not exactly thrilled when a private with 54 messages starts accusing a long time member with almost 11,000 messages a troll.
Blasphemer!!I mean, to be fair I do troll SOME folks.
1000% not a fudd. I’m not even a fan of 1911s.
Okay fuddBlasphemer!!
The 1911 is the perfect pistol! Given to us by God, thru the hands of His prophet, John Moses Browning!
OK millennial, you need your sense of humor calibrated.Okay fudd
That’s why everyone runs 2011s, because the 1911 is “perfect”
Okay boomer, I won’t joke with you either since you think everyone’s triggered. You’re the only one able to post apparentlyOK millennial, you need your sense of humor calibrated.
