I just bought an LWRC REPR with a 20" barrel and a PRS stock with a Geissele SSA trigger.
I also got a SFWA 16x power scope as an temp solution until funding for a Nightforce becomes available.
I have a pair of Burris Extreme Tactical Rings from another build.
Will they get the job done or will I be disappointed?
I always try to take the equipment variable out of the equation so when the rifle ain't shooting I know I am the source of the problem.
Flip side of the coin I don't like to spend more than is necessary.

There is a possible issue with proper eye relief. As long as you don't have to bridge the gap between your upper and your rail with the rings I don't think you will have any issues.

I use 1" XTR X-Highs on my SPRgery, and 30mm XTR lows on my bolt guns. Probably wouldn't go to Afghanistan with them, but for the range and hunting they are plenty durable and haven't given me any problems.

i've had them on several bolt guns with OK success. They did loosen up on my 300wm. i lost trust in them on magnum rifles but i still have sets on my 223 and 17.

(i have since tried to convert all of my guns to seekins or aadland.)

The Burris X's I had would not hold a scope for anything. The scope was a SS 10x, mounted on a 300 WSM Savage. When I called Burris about the problem, THEY recommended their Zee rings. Those wouldn't grip the rail. I scrapped both sets, and bought a set of used Badger's and haven't looked back.

Hi.. I mounted a set of Burris Extreme Tactical extra high 30MM rings on my Barrett M95 50cal, SS 10x42 scope , properly torqued screws in a cross pattern , small spot of red Locktight , scope and rings performed as advertised.

I've used two sets of Burris XTRs on a Stiller 20 MOA rail with absolutely outstanding results. When I put my alignment rods in the saddles , they were perfectly point to point and required absolutely no lapping. I have never seen that with any other rings I have ever used. I'm sure there are a lot of fine rings out there, but the XTRs have given me no reason to look elsewhere...

...if I ever end up using them again I'll have to remember to throw some loctite on the crossbolts as well as the cap screws.

There should never be any reason to use red Locktite on any of the ring's screws. If you have to fuse the ring in place and in order to get it to work properly make it impossible to adjust without applying heat, then buy better mounts.

Using Locktite, I'm a mechanic by trade and quite familiar with using Locktite, I'm going by what I read when mounting scopes on 50 cal,I put a little dot on the end of of a tooth pick and torqued the screws with my inch lb. screwdriver. ( forgot the torque) I like the mounts and have held up to the 50 cal .I agree Graham ,mounts didn't need Locktite.
