Our 2nd annual Wyoming speed goat hunt was a lot of fun and successful for all !

Pat, George and Francis all got great bucks and we had a lot of fun on the hunt.

First day out, my son, Tyler, and Cinch came along for extra eyes and help hauling critters in the mud. George and Francis tagged bucks the first day and Pat on the morning of the second day. The 6.5 SAUM's really performed incredible shooting the 130 Bergers and the 139 Scenars.

Nope... these are his hunting rifles, not his comp rifles

Hmm i might built one hunting rifle like this one.. what barrel life are looking here? Scott what would be ideal barrel length and what contour? Maybe like the set up above..

I'd appreciate some info on this as well.
I know you were using the 130 hunting VLDs, were those pointed - and did they perform well? Wound channel observations would be helpful.

^this, Im assuming you guys were shooting the Pat Sinclair 130 VLD, and at 1268 it would have been around 1400fps I estimate. I'd be real interested in a pic or two of the wound channel, or at least a gory description, and story of the moments between impact, and death. I only ask because in my humble and limited experience, the Bergers didnt expand much at slower speeds. Curious on you gentlemen's thoughts....

Yes, shooting the 130 vld and 139 scenar in Pat's rifle.

George shot the doe with pointed vld. All bullets performed great. Most exits were golf ball to baseball size

very pleased with performance !

i just finished my 7mm rsaum shot less than 50rnds my 6creed is on the process still havent paid it off now im about to sell stuff to build this gun.. for hunting..i love wt im seeing..i bet my wife is on the opposite

She will get over it...or at least mine did when she bought a new bow flex. Its still a win!!!!

Are you pointing the Bergers? I believe Berger was saying not to do this to their hunting bullets because they've found it leads to expansion failures. I forgot where I found that, but Berger actually asked for some bullets to test from a couple hunters who've done that then noticed "failures". The animals stilled died but the bullet failed to expand.

Clearly, but I just remember there was an issue for a while, and I didn't hear what became of it. That's also why I hesitate to call the failures.

We are headed up Friday and will be around for a little over a week. It looks like the weather is gonna be pretty dang nice. Cool and not overly windy. Much better than the last couple of years. No tags for me this year, but we there are 4 deer tags and 2 elk tags, and 2 antelope tags to fill. So lots of hunting to be done!

The APA bottom metal is the schizzle for a hunting rifle. I replaced the Badger M5 in my non typical with the APA. Love it!
