He's lucky his chute stayed inflated while coming down that cliff face or it would have been all over. Had his canopy collapsed, I doubt we would be seeing this vid online.
He definitely busted up his face pretty good. When you slow mow through it you can see at the 50 sec mark, right side by his helmet you see a nice big red drop of blood in the air and again at 1:28 you see where blood has hit the back side of his hand while in fall. Starting at about 102 on the right side of his helmet you can start to see what looks like dark round pieces of rock falling. they are not, thats blood drops coming from his face which you can catch the one that hits his hand for the 1:28 image. If you pause it just right at 154 on his landing you can see the blood streak his face left on his right pant leg upon landing.
FYI, According to the VIMEO poster, here were the injuries.
Compression Fracture of the T12 Vertebra, 5 stitches to the eye, 6 stitches to the chin, severely sprained Back, wrist and hand. multiple bruised areas.

Did he not jump far away from the cliff/face? Man that had to suck, happened so fast he didnt even have time to scream like a bitch. Ahhhhhhhhh...thud..bang....oooo my nuts......smack ....fuuuuuuuuuucccckk........... mmammmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... shit... ugghhhhhhhhhhhhh. TKO........Rockface wins!!!!!

I believe it was one of your locals of Ohio on that 180 face plant ? .
Little clearance on exit & 180 'happens fast'. plus also he fumbled like a level 1 aff with toggles Mis-grabbing what looked like his line-mod release on one side when Fumbling for the Toggle. If he would just have went strait for basics classic standard procedure on rear risers he possible could have pulled a recovery uninjured .
Probably nice dude but Vid perfect example of how fast shit happens when you are not expecting it .

He had a 180 opening. That means his chute opened facing the cliff instead of away from which in turn spun him towards the cliff as the slider deployed. when you see him grabbing for the toggles is because he is trying to turn back away in time which didn't happen. Ideally he should have probably just grabbed the rears to steer instead of spending the time on releasing the toggles and brakes. That stuff happens so fast that hindsight is 20/20. He was damn lucky to walk away from it let alone with the few minor injuries he sustained

whats also sucks, 1000's of square feet of cliff face and he catches the the only thing sticking out….. with his face!

I'm certainly no expert on base jumping, but aren't they supposed to try and get away from solid objects?
