I'm sitting here in the San Diego airport and the "breaking news" is that two people have been shot at a high school in Colorado.

I guess I should start hoarding 22lr ammunition. I thought my boys and I would get to do some shooting over the holidays, but that will now be their college fund.

Merry Christmas to those in the firearms and ammunition manufacturing sector. Sales are going to go "Newtown" again...

It's all over the radio here. Sounds like there are 2 injuries and the shooter is one of them. There have been many shootings since Newtown and the Prez was much more powerful back then than he is now, plus this one doesn't match the "mass" shooting narrative so I doubt this one will get as much play. Hopefully it'll be on par with the Naval yard one a few months ago.

It was a shotgun and the shooter was looking for a particular teacher, two kids shot, one in serious, one minor injuries, pray that this won't blow the whole gun control thing up again although I wouldn't doubt it as BO needs any kind of distraction he can get!

Ya, this was 5 minutes from my house. Co-workers sister was in the school, he watched all officers stage. As was said, not so much a mass shooting but a teacher being targeted by a student and two students injured besides shooter. One student wrestled with shooter, got hit in the shoulder. Other student critical condition. Listening to it on the scanner was wild. They found a Molotov cocktail on the shooter, and suspected second suspect was at large so they had to pat down all the students before releasing them.

Sad. I'm interested if the shooter (kid, I'm assuming) ever had any history of mental illness. If so, how'd he get access to the weapon used?
Guess we'll find out in a couple days. Parents today need to pay closer attention to their kids. Just speculating btw. Adam Lanza's mom KNEW he was a nutjob but I guess mothers will be mothers. My baby boy can't do no wrong! Smh

This won't go far. The Shooting in Sparks killed a Teacher and wounded some students. Other than the local news it was over in a couple of days.

This lead off the news but they quickly went on to other world matters.

From what I read on MSN, the wounded kid confronted the shooter. if so, good on him/her and I hope he/she gets better. Takes a lot of balls to take on an armed assailant empty-handed, and I hope the Local PD keeps tabs on him/her for new hire potential when he/she graduates.

He/she didn't learn that in school.
The faculty member "left that school in an effort to try to encourage the shooter to also leave the school."

I doubt anything gun control wise will come from this. Not to sound callous, but even after Newtown there weren't any federal AWBs. Sure, a few states clamped down even harder (Cali, NY, etc.) but they were already headed in that direction.

I agree. It's on the local news here but isn't being obsessed over like they did for Newtown. It doesn't match the anti-gun narrative to push gun-control, i.e. no AR15, no kids killed, etc... So it'll be forgotten outside of CO soon enough. If there's one thing you can count on 100% of the time it's America's short attention span and goldfish like memory.
