I will say, I will own a ATACR for my next build. Nightforce did a awesome job creating the ATACR. First off there was several Nightforce scopes there and the glass was better in the ATACR than in NXS line scopes. It was very crisp and clear, id say on par with my Schmidt Bender or even maybe slightly better. The adjustments where nice and firm and of course you guys know the rest of the specs, but im overly impressed with it. The only downfall is its 2nd focal plane but it going on a long range hunting rig at known distances from a rangefinder so im not really worried about that.

If they came out with the same scope in a first focal plane it would put a hurting on Schmidt Bender sales (well their 5-7k scopes will already do that).

All I can say is if the Beast has glass like the ATACR its going to be a homerun. The wait will be worth it. Its been several years since I looked at the Nightforce line and they stepped the game up big time.

What recticle diid you get/Do you like? I have been leaning towards the MOAR now, but I sure would like to have more confidence in the Velocity 1000? The V1000 would really work well for me if I knew for sure it would work?

Will be nice whenever the BEAST starts rolling out. I don't understand this now more than 1 year delay to deliver the BEAST! A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Have seriously been considering canceling my BEAST order in recent months.

I've been looking at these babies myself. For a person that wants a top tier SFP scope this scope looks as good as any. I'm 52 and a disabled veteran at that, but I enjoy shooting of the ground or off a bench at known distances and seeing how tight of groups I can make. So really any good SFP scope is all I need. But this ATACR has my attention.

I got an ATACR in Dec., and have had opportunity recently to put it through some use/abuse -- it's the Mil/Mil version (MIL-R).

If you can live with SFP (i.e., ranging at 25x only) it should serve you very well.

It is a better scope than the NXS (I've owned two).

IMO it is not equal to my FFP S&Bs or Hennys, (but it did not cost as much as those scopes, either).

Also IMO, it compares well with my USO 3.8-22 SN-3s, except I prefer the USO ERGO/EREK and FFP on those scopes.

Am looking forward to trying the "Beast", if they ever get them shipped.
