A few years ago I bought a Remington 5-R Milspec and shot the dickens out of it. Loved it. As time went on things started to get changed out. First the trigger assy. Then a new stock which I performed some minor mod's on. Didn't like the factory bolt so I replaced it with a PTG one piece spiral fluted and M-16 style extractor.

By now, Im now down to the barreled action (excluding bolt) when it came to "Remington" parts.

Lastly, I changed the barrel.

So when asked what "Brand" of rifle it is, do I merely say "Custom" or "B&C Benchington" (B&C Stock, Benchmark Barrel Remington Receiver). Can I call a rifle named after me? Or should I just name it "Fred"? :) :)

What do the rest of you do when you have a rifle where the only OE part is the receiver tube with serial number, every other part including Bottom metal having been replaced?

What do you call it?

Hang all the dingle balls, chrome lock stems, fuzzy visors, skull shifter, barefoot gas pedal, spinner hub caps, swap in a Vega motor in a Pinto and it's still a Pinto. A customized Pinto.

It's still a Remington. I guess it's a customized Remington now.

:D

I call it "built", like motors, I call em built or rebuilt, like its a "built remington 700", if heavily modified I might say its a "completely built AR".

I call mine Nadezhda.:)

Here's an idea... call it whatever the fuck you wanna call it. You picked it out and paid for it, so name it.

Basically what you did was ask a Kardashian sister if your $100 Coach purse is as good as their $800 purse, even though they both get the job done. As you see with the car reference, to most, it's not about who's driving... but what you are driving.

As we all know, only so many on this site depend on their guns to save lives... if you're gun gets things done just the way you want, it shouldn't matter what you "can" call it. Based on most of the answers, I'd call it a custom just to piss people off.

Haha... talk about "wrong side of the bed," I need some cereal... not custom cereal, just regular ol cereal.
